EPL: Here’s what Erik Ten Hag said about Marcus Rashford

Manchester United boss, Erik ten Hag has heaped praises on English forward, Marcus Rashford, describing him as unstoppable and brilliant.

Ten Hag made this comment in a post-match conference shortly after the England star put up another outstanding performance against Nottingham Forest in the Premier League on Tuesday.

Manchester United defeated Nottingham Forest 3-0 on Tuesday at the Theatre of dreams.

The victory took the Red Devils to just one point behind the top four with Rashford scoring one and assisting another, while Anthony Martial and Fred completed the rout.

There were plenty of positives for the 20-time English champions, with one of them being Rashford’s phenomenal display.

“There is still room for improvement from Marcus but this one [performance] was at a good level and he’s unstoppable if he keeps in this spirit, this focus, I am sure the process will keep going and he’ll score more goals and get more assists,” the Dutchman told Man United’s official website.

Ten Hag sends Man Utd board Dalot message

Manchester United manager Erik ten Hag waxed lyrical regarding right-back Diogo Dalot after their win over West Ham United.

The Red Devils claimed a vital Premier League win, achieving a 1-0 success over the Hammers at Old Trafford on Sunday.

Dalot was outstanding for United, attacking and defending in equal measure, despite playing nearly every game so far this term.

“I’m really happy with the development of Diogo,” Ten Hag told Sky Sports.

    “He’s done really well.

“As you [Gary Neville] mentioned, you played in that position yourself, so you can be critical because you know how to play there, but I think his defending positions are growing from game to game. His timing, also his duels, is better from game to game.

“In possession, I think he’s really good and he has the breath to go up and down [the wing]. The development is really good, but I have to mention that a club like Manchester United needs two good fullbacks, because we have a lot of games to cover.”

Serie A club offer Cristiano Ronaldo escape route

Manchester United star Cristiano Ronaldo is being linked with a move to Serie A, according to The Sun.

The Red Devils forward is out of favor with manager Erik ten Hag after several disciplinary issues.

The latest incident involved Ronaldo refusing to come on as a substitute during their Premier League game against Tottenham, and then leaving the stadium early before the game had ended.

The Portuguese could be offered a way out of United by Napoli, if he agrees to drastically reduce his wage demands.

For their part, United are said to be ready to let him leave on a free transfer, provided they do not have to pay out the remainder of his contract.

Ronaldo will be hoping to get an escape from the Premier League giants after the World Cup and as soon as the January transfer window opens.

Ten Hag slams press on Ronaldo claims

Manchester United manager Erik ten Hag has hit back at the media after his public criticism of Cristiano Ronaldo.

Ten Hag told Dutch media he found it “unacceptable” that Ronaldo had left before the final whistle of last Sunday’s preseason friendly with Rayo Vallecano.

But the manager said today: “Now I have to point, there were many players who left but the spotlight is on Cristiano, that is not right, so do your research and make out many players left, that was what was said.

“There were a lot of players.

“I’m really happy, I told you before, we have a top striker, really happy he’s here with the squad and we stick to the plan.”

  • Roy Keane warns Ten Hag about Ronaldo

Roy Keane warns Ten Hag about Ronaldo

Former Manchester United captain, Roy Keane has warned Erik ten Hag about Cristiano Ronaldo if the team doesn’t perform well.

Ronaldo has made it clear he wants to leave the Red Devils to play Champions League football this year.

The 37-year-old is yet to receive any concrete offers, while United have made it clear he is not for sale.

Keane believes the situation “can work out well” for the club or it could change quickly as the season unfolds.

He told Sky Sports: “You have to try and keep Ronaldo because he’s a brilliant player but we don’t know Ronaldo’s behaviour when he’s back in the building.

“I don’t think it’s as big of a deal as everyone’s making out.

“When you’re a manager, trouble comes your way, he has to deal with it. I think it can work out well for United.

“My worry is if he stays and United don’t start great, and he’s resentful to the manager, then it could get ugly.”

  • Ten Hag training more extreme than Guardiola – Strieder

Ten Hag training more extreme than Guardiola – Strieder

Former Bayern Munich midfielder Rico Strieder has recalled playing for Manchester United manager Erik ten Hag.

Strieder was coached by Ten Hag as a player with Bayern II and FC Utrecht.

He told Goal: “After the first training session with him I thought: I hardly moved. Ten Hag made you tired in your head, not in your legs. When we played eleven against eleven, he stopped the training continuously to grab someone and have him move two metres left or right. After the next pass, he would stop again to push the next player two metres further. We felt like pieces on a chess board.

“For us it was completely new and completely insane. But we soon realised pretty quickly that it made us better, both as a team and individuals.

“When he had the time, Ten Hag watched Pep Guardiola’s training sessions.

“He tried to contact him every day. I don’t know what Guardiola thought about that at the time. Their relationship intensified when Ten Hag started to achieve success at Ajax.”

In any case, Ten Hag took in detail what he saw at Bayern.

“Guardiola and Ten Hag had a similar vision and comparable exercises. But Ten Hag’s tactical training was much more extreme. With Guardiola, an exercise lasted maybe ten minutes, with Ten Hag an hour.

“Ten Hag banned mobile phones from one hour from the start of the warm-up. Nobody was allowed to joke, everyone had to focus.”
