EPL: Liverpool thrash Forest 3-0, Haaland, Foden score as City pummel United 3-0 at Old Trafford

Diogo Jota, Darwin Nunez and Mohammed Salah all scored to secure all three points for Liverpool against Nottigham Forest at Anfield.

Jota finished off a quick counter-attack to break the deadlock in the 31st minute and celebrated by holding up the shirt of team mate Luis Diaz, who missed the game following the kidnapping of his parents in his native Colombia.

Liverpool’s second was a brilliant team goal as they sliced the Forest rearguard apart before Dominik Szoboszlai pulled the ball across the goal for Nunez to turn home.

Salah exploited a dreadful breakdown in communications to round off the scoring in the 77th minute of the thrilling encounter.

Elsewhere at Old Trafford, Erling Haaland scored a brace and Foden added another to ensure Manchester City thrash Manchester United 3-0.

Rasmus Hojlund fouled Rodri and Haaland converted from the spot to give the visitors the lead in the 26th minute of the encounter.

It was a fairly even first half, with just an Erling Haaland penalty between the two sides.

Upon resumption of the second half, Bernardo Silva lofted a cross and the lanky Norwegian connected to power home the second with a header for City.

In the 80th minute, Rodri strikes a shot from distance, which is parried out by Onana to the feet of Erling Haaland, he opted to pass to Foden who slotted home the third goal from near post.

EPL: Gallaher gives tips on how to stop Haaland from scoring

English Football pundit, Noel Gallagher, has given mostly defenders in the English premier league tips on how to stop Manchester new signing Haaland from scoring plenty of goals.

The English football analyst said that that there is no point trying to stop Erling Haaland, noting that opposition players would be better off focusing on Kevin De Bruyne instead.

Haaland has scored a whopping 17 goals in just ten appearances for Manchester City this season, including a hat-trick against Manchester United over the weekend.

And Gallagher explains that the only way to stop Haaland is to stop his supplies which majorly come from Belgium international, De Bruyne.

“I don’t think you stop him, you stop De Bruyne,” Gallagher said on Drive. “You have to stop the ball getting to him.

“We’ve seen the goals that he’s scored already, some of them are scarcely believable – the one against Borussia Dortmund and his second against United – no other striker in the world even attempts that.

“We’re watching something that’s scarcely believable. To think that he’s nine goals short of last season’s Golden Boot title and there’s 30 games left, it’s a joke.”

Erling Haaland scores on Bundesliga return

Erling Braut Haaland scored for Borussia Dortmund as they marked the return of the Bundesliga during the coronavirus outbreak with a convincing derby win over Schalke.

The game will mostly be remembered for the surreal circumstances in which it was played, as Germany became the first major league in Europe to resume action behind closed doors.

There was an eerie atmosphere at Dortmund’s iconic Signal Iduna Park stadium, with every shout by players or coaches audible, and social distancing protocol followed by substitutes and during goal celebrations.

Haaland opened the scoring with a trademark cool finish, flicking home Thorgen Hazard’s cross to continue his sensational season, albeit after an enforced break of almost 10 weeks.

Raphael Guerreiro added two more goals and Hazard also found the net as Dortmund went on to claim a comfortable win over their near neighbours and move within a point of leaders Bayern Munich, who play on Sunday.
