[VIDEO] Europa Final: Mourinho confronts English referee at Car park, brands him a ‘big disgrace’

AS Roma coach, Jose Mourinho yesterday after losing the Europa cup final to Sevilla 4-1 on penalties confronted English referee, Anthony Taylor in a car park and branded him a “f—ing disgrace” when players and match officials were set to leave for their hotels.

Mourinho was seen in a clip shared by Sportitalia lambasting the referee for his “bulls—” decisions as Taylor tried to leave the Puskas Arena in Budapest.

Roma felt that Referee Taylor was particular;y too harsh with his players and by so doing mounted undue pressure on them.

Roma lost 4-1 on penalties but Mourinho was especially unhappy about the number of cards Taylor issued in the game – 14, a record for a European final.

After accusing Taylor of “seeming Spanish”, the Roma manager can be seen in the video approaching the match officials’ minibus and shouting “F—ing disgrace man, it’s a f—ing disgrace” before then switching to Italian to further berate Taylor.

Mourinho was booked towards the end of extra time and later accused Taylor of “seeming Spanish”.

“Next year we won’t be playing the Champions League and that’s a good thing because we’re not made for it,” Mourinho told reporters.

“And let’s hope that Taylor only officiates games in the Champions League and does the same bull— there that he did tonight, and not in the Europa League.”

“It was an intense, vibrant game with a referee who seemed Spanish. It was yellow, yellow, yellow all the time.”

Roma vs Sevilla: Mourinho predicts what will happen in Europa final

AS Roma manager, Jose Mourinho has explained that the final against Sevilla on the 31st of May will help his boys grow, achieve important things and help the club’s fans.

The Portuguese gaffer, made this known while speaking in a post match conference after his side sailed through to the Europa League final on Thursday.

Roma played out a 0-0 draw with Bayern Leverkusen in Germany and thus qualified based on the favourable 1-0 first leg result in Rome,

Mourinho’s men will now face Sevilla in the Europa League final later this month after progressing to the final on a 1-0 aggregate victory.

Recall that Sevilla had eliminated Juventus in the semi-final second-leg tie after winning 3-2 on aggregate.

Speaking to Sky Sport after the game, Mourinho said: “My concern is not marking my place in the Roma history books.

“It is helping these kids [players] to grow, to achieve important things.

“It is also helping the Roma fans, who have given me so much since day one. It is an immense joy to get to another final.

“The boys give everything, this game is the result of our work, experience, tactical wisdom and knowing how to stay in matches. It is an incredible team.”

There’s still hope Martial can make Europa final – Solskjaer

Manchester United manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer says Anthony Martial could yet make next week’s Europa League final against Villarreal.

Despite being omitted from France’s 26 players for the European Championships this summer because of a knee injury, the 25-year-old striker has not been ruled out by Solskjaer for the showpiece climax to our campaign in Poland.

It seems the striker himself won’t give up the fight to be in contention for next week either.

“We have still got a little bit of hope for Anthony,” said Solskjaer, in his post-match press conference following our 1-1 draw with Fulham.

“We are hoping. He is working really hard. We are hoping he will be available for the final. He has worked really hard. He has been very thorough. Very enthusiastic. I can’t say that he won’t be fit for the final but, of course, he has been out for a long time. I am still hopeful.”

Europa final: English fans may avoid quarantine in Poland

Poland will allow British football fans who want to support Manchester United at the upcoming 2020/2021 Europa League final match to avoid the mandatory coronavirus quarantine.

This will be if they fulfill the condition of presenting a negative SARS-CoV-2 test.
According to a government regulation that takes effect on Tuesday, fans with tickets to the May 26 game in Gdansk will need to present a negative test.

But the test must not be older than 48 hours upon their arrival in Poland.

As a general rule, travellers from non-EU countries need to quarantine in Poland for 10 days.

But they cannot be freed from quarantine on the basis of a test conducted outside of the EU.

EU citizens, however, can present a negative COVID-19 test conducted in their country and be freed from mandatory quarantine.

This rule will apply for Villarreal fans, Manchester United rivals, who will support their team at the Gdansk final.

Poland is gradually re-opening its economy as the number of coronavirus infections is declining and the vaccination campaign progresses.

For the Europa League final, fans will be able to fill up to 25 per cent of the Gdansk stadium, which means 9,500 people will be allowed to watch the game on site.
