    Police sends strong message to women collecting ‘Tfare’ and do not visit

    The Nigerian Police command, Rivers State command has issued a stern warning to women who collect money for transport from men and fail to attend arranged meetings.

    TheNewsGuru.com (TNG) reports that the warning comes after reports of the practice became rampant, prompting authorities to address it publicly.

    Grace Iringe-Koko, the Rivers Police spokesperson via the microblogging platform, X formerly Twitter said the act amounts to obtaining money under false pretence, which is a criminal offence under Nigerian law.

    She further explained that anyone found guilty would be arrested and prosecution if victims report the matter to the police.

    Authorities are urging the public to avoid deceitful financial transactions and warned that failing to meet obligations after collecting money could lead to legal consequences.

    She said complaints from victims will be taken seriously, and investigations will follow to ensure offenders are held accountable.

    She said: “Why will you collect money from man without going to see him. It is an offence, a punishable offence.

    “It is obtaining money under false pretence. 419.”

    A Nigerian lady, identified as Jennifer, seen in the viral courtroom video, in which a man named Emmanuel sued her for allegedly breaking a promise after he sent her transport fare has broken her silence.

    According to Jennifer, Emmanuel was only an online acquaintance, and they had never met in person. She went on to explain that he had pressured her to travel from Asaba to Abuja to see him, despite her initial refusal.

    She said,“Before Emmanuel sent that money to me for transportation, I told him he should come over to my city. He said no, that he cannot visit a woman. Out of the blue, this guy just sent me #50,000, saying it was transport fare to come and see him. Where will #50,000 take me from Asaba to Abuja?”

    She went on saying that, after she didn’t make the trip, Emmanuel and his friends allegedly began issuing threats over the money.

    She added that she later offered to return the money, but he rejected it and became upset. She asked, “What if I had gone there and something happened to me? You people would still blame me, Women don’t insist in staying one place, you people will still talk. What do you really want?”.

    Jennifer went on to say that she eventually repaid Emmanuel #450,000, as ordered by the court, not just the #50,000 circulating on the internet.

    Controversial Nollywood actress, Angela Okorie, has taken to social media to express her frustration and disappointment in a recent relationship.

    The actress, in a lengthy post via Instagram on Thursday, April 17, 2025 disclosed that the man’s intentions were far from genuine, suggesting that he was more interested in sleeping around than building a meaningful relationship.

    The actress known for her fiery personality, said she was dating an ‘enemy’, after which went on to call him names, accusing him of using her to get close to other influential women.

    She wrote, “Make una wan that mad man, make he no dey post my picture na. I blocked Casanova for a long time; I don’t leave for Nollywood girls and more. Until I marry, y’all will never see my man or even know what he looks like again. Make una carry am, e fits you, not Legit Queen.     An American mother identified as Tierra Christy has expressed profound disappointment after her boyfriend of five years made moves on her 10-year old daughter.

    According to Christy via her verified page on Monday, they had dated for 5 years, with her daughter being only five when they started dating.

    Sharing the screenshot, she wrote: “I was with this nigga for 5 years and he been around my daughter since she was 5 years old I can’t believe that he would all a sudden take a sexual interest in my daughter.

    “It disgusts me that she came to me crying about how he doesn’t talk to her like she’s a kid anymore. He’s been trying to get her to be an adult and do sexual things with her because she is older now . 

    “This type of betrayal from him I will never understand or forgive and the disgusting ass family that stands by him and calls my child a liar can all go to hell with him y’all can all get hands & feet about my daughter !     Man beats girlfriend to death in Lagos

    Operatives of the Isheri Osun Police Division in Lagos State have arrested a  Nigerian man, identified as Gbolahan Adebayo, 23, following the death of his 25-year-old girlfriend, who was found unconscious with visible injuries in his apartment in Ijedodo.

    According to a police, a concerned neighbor had earlier witnessed Adebayo physically assaulting his girlfriend for reasons yet to be determined.

    The situation took a tragic turn on the morning of February 23, when Adebayo reportedly screamed for help, prompting them to rush to his apartment, where they found the young woman lying unconscious on the bed, bearing visible marks of violence.

    She was immediately rushed to a hospital in Ijegun, where she was pronounced dead on arrival.

    Upon receiving the report, a team of detectives visited the scene and later proceeded to the hospital, where the deceased’s body was examined and photographed.

    The corpse has since been deposited at the Infectious Disease Hospital (IDH) morgue in Yaba for an autopsy.

    Meanwhile, Adebayo has been taken into custody as investigations into the circumstances surrounding the incident continue.

    “On 23/02/25 at about 0900 hours, one neighbor reported at Isheri Osun Division that on 21/02/25 at about 2000 hours, he saw his neighbor, one Gbolahan Adebayo ‘m’ age 23 years, beating his girlfriend, aged 25 years, in his home in Ijedodo for yet-to-be-determined reasons.

    “However, at about 0700 hours, the said Gbolahan Adebayo ‘m’ reportedly screamed for help, and on getting to his apartment, the said girlfriend was met lying unconscious on the bed with visible marks of violence found on the body.

    “She was immediately taken to a hospital in Ijegun, where she was confirmed dead by the doctor on duty.

    “Based on the report, a team of detectives visited the scene. The hospital was also visited, where the corpse was inspected and photographed. (The) corpse (was) evacuated and deposited at IDH morgue Yaba for autopsy.

    “The suspect was promptly arrested, and (an) investigation is in progress on the matter,” the report shared by the spokesperson of the Lagos State Police Command, Benjamin Hundeyin read.

    A 16-year-old girl, Aisha Suleiman, who was accused of killing her ex lover and his four friends with a plate of pepper soup laced with poisonous substance has opened up on the ordeal.

    TheNewsGuru.com (TNG) had reported how the teenage girl who was trying to get back at her now deceased lover for ending their relationship, allegedly gave him a plate of poison-laced fish pepper soup, which he shared with his friends.

    However, speaking in an interview with ITV Radio, Suleiman recounted the events that led to her near-lynching and subsequent arrest.

    Suleiman, who has been cleared of all her charges denied ever cooking pepper soup for anyone, adding that she was the one who ended her relationship with her boyfriend and not the other way around.

    According to Suleiman, her ex-boyfriend’s father barred her from visiting their home, and on the day of the incident, she was in a different location while the deaths occurred in Afashio.

    Recall, Suleiman was arrested and charged in court, but human rights activists intervened and pushed for a thorough investigation.

    The investigation revealed that the victims died from carbon monoxide poisoning due to generator fumes, not from pepper soup poisoning.

    Aisha was subsequently cleared of all charges.
