Simi blasts fan who told her to change her sound

Nigerian singer Simisola Kosoko, popularly known as Simi, has raged at fans asking her to change her style of music.

The ‘Duduke’ crooner had shared a clip of her singing one of her new
songs on her X handle (formerly Twitter) and a fan quoted the post, asking her to “switch up” her sound.

A netizen identified as Zee Baby had reacted, saying: “Girlll switch it up a bit… change your sound.” claiming Simi’s music lacked innovation and has become boring.

    She added:

“Your hubby changes his sound and it’s amazing to see. Do the same you’re too good to be doing basic shit.”

    In response, simi  said:

“Lol you people see I’m minding my business yea? Alright alright Zeebaby, talk to me. Tell me the last say… 10 songs I’ve put out and let’s dissect. Which ones sound the same? Then tell me how your faves are doing it different/better than me. Or perhaps u want me to change my genre? Or I should use more lamba [Nigerian slang for empty talk]? Or is it my voice? It’s too soft or sweet or sharp for you? I should swallow balloon for diversity? We’re not fighting. I honestly want your feedback. Direct me. Help me Zeebaby.“

“And please nothing like “don’t let them bring you down”. Worstest. They can’t bring Simisola down. They can only say they don’t like my cloth…and some days me too I don’t like my cloth. However sometimes if someone says “Are you mad?” You have to say “it’s your daddy that is mad.” For the culture.”

  • Brazil fan leaves everything to Neymar in will

Brazil fan leaves everything to Neymar in will

Leaving everything you own to a multi-millionaire football player would not be everyone’s idea of a good cause, but one Brazilian fan has just done that.

The anonymous fan could not think of a more deserving recipient of his worldly goods than Neymar Jr. of Paris Saint-Germain (PSG).

He said that beyond a love for the national team and for Brazil’s football legacy, he identified with Neymar, which led him to officially name the Brazil striker in his will.

“I like Neymar, I identify with him a lot. I also suffer with defamation, I am also very family-oriented and the relationship with his father reminds me a lot of mine with my father, who has passed away,” the fan said in an interview.

“I am not in very good health and, because of that, I really saw that I don’t have anyone to leave my things to… I wouldn’t want the government or relatives I don’t get along with to take my things.”

The 30-year-old added that he had tried unsuccessfully to give his assets to the Brazil international before.

But he pointed out that the will was a legal way to do so and the document was signed by a notary’s office in Porto Alegre.

PSG’s Neymar is one of the world’s best paid sportsmen, with estimated earnings of 85 million dollars for 2023, according to Forbes.

“I know that, above all, he is not greedy, something a bit rare these days,” the fan said.

  • Aaron Ramsdale attacked by Tottenham fan

Aaron Ramsdale attacked by Tottenham fan

Arsenal goalkeeper Aaron Ramsdale was attacked by a supporter after the north London derby against Tottenham.

Television footage showed a Spurs fan trying to kick Ramsdale in the back after the Gunners’ 2-0 win on Sunday.

The Professional Footballers’ Association said “violence towards players is completely unacceptable”.

“These incidents are happening far too often. Players have a right to be safe in their place of work,” said a PFA statement.

“When a player is attacked, we expect the laws and regulations that are in place to protect players to be properly enforced.

“As the players’ union, we treat this as a priority issue. We will continue working with the authorities to demand players and staff are better protected in their place of work.”

Ramsdale, 24, was unhurt in the incident at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium and Spurs said the fan would face an “immediate ban”.

“We are appalled by the behaviour of a supporter that attempted to attack Arsenal goalkeeper Aaron Ramsdale at the end of today’s match,” said a Spurs statement.

“Violence in any form has no place in football.

“The club has reviewed its CCTV footage to identify the supporter and will be working with the Met Police, Arsenal and Aaron Ramsdale to take the strongest possible action, including an immediate ban from Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.”

Ramsdale had been instrumental as the Gunners won away at their nearest rivals to move eight points clear at the top of the Premier League.

After the game, he went to gather his water bottle when a supporter from behind the goal housing Tottenham fans rushed forward and aimed a kick at the England international before climbing back over a number of rows of seats.

“It’s a shame as it’s just a game of football at the end of the day,” said Ramsdale.

“Both sets of players tried to bring me away but thankfully nothing too drastic happened. It’s a sour taste but I’m sure we will enjoy it when we go back into the dressing room.

“The Spurs fans gave me some throughout the game. I was giving some back. The people I did give it to greeted it in sportsmanlike terms but one fan tried to give me a little punch on the back.”

A statement from the Football Association said: “We strongly condemn the incident involving a spectator that followed today’s Premier League fixture between Tottenham Hotspur and Arsenal.

“This is wholly unacceptable behaviour and we will work together with the police, the relevant authorities and the clubs to ensure the appropriate action is taken.”

Qatar confirms COVID-19 test requirements for World Cup fan

Fans attending the World Cup in Qatar must show proof of a negative COVID-19 test regardless of their vaccination status, organisers said in a statement on Thursday.

All visitors aged six and above must present a negative result from a PCR test taken within 48 hours,  before their departure or from a rapid antigen test taken in the 24 hours before arriving.

Results of the rapid antigen tests will only be accepted if they are from official medical centres and not self-administered.

No further tests will be required in Qatar if visitors do not develop symptoms of COVID-19.

“A green Ehteraz status (showing the user does not have a confirmed case of COVID-19) is required to enter any public closed indoor spaces,” the statement added.

Fans will have to wear masks on public transport but vaccination is not mandatory for the unprecedented influx of 1.2 million visitors expected for the Nov. 20-Dec. 18 tournament.

“Anyone who tests positive for COVID-19 while in Qatar will be required to isolate in accordance with Ministry of Public Health guidelines,” the statement said.

Qatar has recorded more than 440,000 confirmed cases of COVID-19 and 692 deaths from the virus, according to data from the Ministry of Public Health.

The country has a population of 2.8 million, of which barely 380,000 are Qatari nationals. A total of 7,487,616 vaccine doses have been administered so far, the data states.

The state’s Commissioner for Youths and Sports, Dan Agu, told newsmen on Monday in Owerri that the fan was banned over an assault on the club’s Media Officer, Solomon Onu.

The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that the incident was recorded on Sunday during Heartland FC’s first game of the 2021/2022 season in the Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL).

The match against Nasarawa United of Lafia had ended in a 3-3 draw.

Egbujor, a member of the “Colombian Heartland Supporters Club”, allegedly attacked the club’s media officer with a sharp object leading to what many onlookers regarded as serious internal injuries.

However, his reason for attacking Onu could not be ascertained as the suspect fled the scene immediately.

The media officer, who is also a member of the state chapter of Sports Writers Association of Nigeria (SWAN) became unconscious immediately he was attacked, before being revived later.

The commissioner assured Imo SWAN members that he would strengthen security at the stadium during Heartland FC’s home games to further guarantee the safety of journalists and others.

Meanwhile, while speaking with NAN, Onu said the incident happened at the stadium on Sunday when he was arranging an interview between journalists and the Heartland FC coach immediately after the match.

All efforts to speak with Egbujor have so far not been successful as his phone was switched off when a NAN reporter tried to get his reaction.
