  • Why fans expectations shouldn’t determine celeb’s personality – Chioma Okafor

Why fans expectations shouldn’t determine celeb’s personality – Chioma Okafor

Nollywood actress, Chioma Okafor has said fans’ expectations of what a celebrity should be or wear should not determine the celeb’s personality.

Okafor in a recent chat said
Most times, most of the outfits people see celebrities wear may be given to them by brands they are influencing for. It might not necessarily be theirs.

She said: “It’s an expectation. I would say it’s a personal decision to maintain a certain figure .People take pictures and videos of one every day. Most times, most of the outfits people see celebrities wear may be given to them by brands they are influencing for. It might not necessarily be theirs. As for me, sometimes I repeat clothes. There are other times I don’t,”

Asked when she knew she wanted to be an actress, she said: “I would say that would be when I was in the extracurricular and drama class in primary school. It was not a defining moment, but an unconscious one and gradually it became a strong one. In the university I was in the dance and drama group. I was into public speaking and contesting for pageantries. After that, I went to film school to polish my passion for acting. From then on, it all kicked off with stage play and then TV drama.”

  • Why making fans happy better than winning grammy – Korede Bello

Why making fans happy better than winning grammy – Korede Bello

Nigerian singer, Korede Bello has stated that making the people happy through music is better than winning a Grammy award.

The ‘Godwin’ hitmaker said the reason artists long after these awards is for validation that can help them to improve on their craft.

He made this statement in a recent interview when he asked whether Nigerian artistes should depend on a foreign platform, like the Grammys, for validation.

    He said;

“There is a common pidgin saying that can loosely be translated to mean, ‘it is where one works that one will eat’. Part of the things we ‘eat’ as artistes is validation for our art. Validation for making great art is good. And, that can be very inspirational for others to make better art.

When an artiste makes it to the nomination list of a prestigious award, they are already winners in my opinion. Every other thing is subjective. However, I believe in rewards over awards.

Rewards can come in the form of commercial success or returns on investment. That way, one knows that the quality of what one puts in is what will determine what one will get. Awards are good, but knowing that one’s art makes many people happy is a better feeling.”

Why I’m constantly underrated in music industry – Blaqbonez

Nigeria Rapper Emeka Akumefule, popularly known as Blaqbonez has revealed why he constantly gets underrated in the music industry.

According to him, some music fans can’t relate with his style and sauce of music because of the old style they have been absorbed in.

He said,  afrobeats sound like ‘ass’ because fans prefer artists that constantly repeat the same method.

Taken to his X page, he wrote: “I’m constantly underrated cos my shit is brand new, they never heard it before, it’s not what the doctor prescribed, they prefer those that use the exact same boring recipe everytime and that’s why afrobeats sounds like ASS these days (yes i said it) but i will never conform, the people that listen to me are the people that chose to break out of the norm to make their own choices, and i know they appreciate the sacrifice”.

  • Boo me, not Chelsea players – Pochettino tells fans

Boo me, not Chelsea players – Pochettino tells fans

Chelsea manager Mauricio Pochettino has told fans if they must boo, then boo him and not the players.

Chelsea were again barracked by the away support during Saturday’s 2-2 draw at Brentford.

Asked about a message for frustrated fans, Pochettino said: “Yes, and if they want to listen, perfect. If not, what can I do? They’ll keep booing. I’m giving my best to this team.

“But we cannot blame the fans. My message is: Okay, they need to show their frustration – through who? I prefer to me rather than to the team. I prefer that, I am strong. I am sure that in time we will change the perception.

“I don’t want the fans trying to blame the players. Players need to feel backed by the fans and, to be honest, I prefer that I get the blame and let the players be free on the pitch. I don’t care. I am strong, I am 52 now.

“The players deserve credit and support from our fans. If someone needs to get the blame, that is no problem. That is why I am the coach.”

He added: “I think we need to put it in context. Even if sometimes people do not listen, it is our third game in six days, with Leeds and Brentford always having the advantage of a few days more to prepare for the game against us. When you are a little bit short in the squad like we are with some players recovering, it’s always difficult.

“We are going to fight for our place and for our position.”

  • Jurgen Klopp makes promise to Liverpool fans

Jurgen Klopp makes promise to Liverpool fans

Jurgen Klopp has assured Liverpool fans he won’t manage again in England.

The German has announced he will leave Liverpool at the end of the season.

For the moment, Klopp says he isn’t thinking about another job and had a promise for the Reds support. He told liverpoolfc.com: “I had to explain it, of course I had to. It was not like, ‘Oh, thank God.’ You must not misunderstand. Not at all. She asked me why and I explained it like I explain it now to you, with a few more maybe private details, but besides that it was pretty similar.

“And obviously Ulla wants me to do well and be fine, and when she realised that I’m really clear about that – and she knows I don’t take these kind of things lightly – she is happy for me, that I’m happy with the decision. Because that’s the truth. When people tell me now all the different things we do in the moment and what’s going well with the team and stuff like this, I enjoy it like crazy. But I enjoy it as well because I know I will not have to do it forever. I need to find a different purpose as well, I need to have a look for it. If you ask me, ‘Will you ever work as a manager again?’ I would say now no.

“But I don’t know obviously how that will feel because I never had the situation. What I know definitely – I will never, ever manage a different club in England than Liverpool, 100 per cent. That’s not possible. My love for this club, my respect for the people is too big. I couldn’t. I couldn’t for a second think about it. There’s no chance. This is part of my life, we are part of the family, we feel home here. There’s no chance to do that.

“But all the rest, will I ever work again? Of course, I know myself, I cannot just sit around. I will find something else maybe to do. But I will not manage a club or a country at least for a year, that’s not possible, I cannot do that and I don’t want to. That’s all. It’s such a strange situation because I have to explain that I don’t have energy anymore, but now I’m sitting here and I have energy and I’m buzzing for everything that’s happening here. But because of the relationship we have, I have to think about this. Because nobody will sack me, I have to make this decision by myself.

“The responsibility I have for everything here tells me I’m not the right one for the future, so I have to tell. As much as I wish I would be. And that’s what I do here. It’s completely strange. I’m looking forward to the Norwich game, I do, I’m really looking forward to the Norwich game, to play it, a home game. Then we play Chelsea at home. At one point the new stand will be completely full. So many wonderful things happened in the time since I’m here, it’s just amazing and I love all that but I will follow that, I will be part of it, I will support it, but not in the main chair anymore from a specific point on.”

“I only put out one song this year. A ballad. In the middle of the year. I had plans for multiple singles and an album. I did. But the music business is so fickle, it’s amusing. The wheels that turn behind the scenes are emotionless.

This epistle is dedicated to my fans. Despite the many long waits you have endured for my sake, you support me. Still.

“Again and again. I don’t take you for granted and I hope that’s a truth you don’t forget. I wasn’t going to post this stuff, because I didn’t see the point. But you’re the point.

I pushed my stuff to next year, because I like the idea of starting afresh. So, I hope you’re ready.”
