Tinubu needs little from North in 2027 – Fayose

Ekiti State Governor, Ayodele Fayose, has said that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu needs little votes from the North to win the 2027 election.

Fayose disclosed this during an interview on Channels TV’s Politics Today, on Friday.

Fayose said, “Tinubu outside the government consummated the APC, took that APC up and defeated the PDP in 2015. Without the opposition in 2023, the same Tinubu defeated everybody. So you think the man does not have a brain even if he does not talk? It’s only if I don’t have what it takes like him, I would have been a strategist.

“The man has taken all over the south; he only needs little to turn it in the the north. Peter Obi will still have a good show. You can’t deny that. I always tell the truth. Obi will have a better show than the PDP. The PDP will come fourth and the ADC will come third. The APC will come first. Obi will come second. Write it down. You don’t have to be fooling people.

“On whether I’m trusted or not, I don’t have to be trusted. That’s their problem. You know the situation of our party today. And it’s in my prayer that the PDP does not come fourth in the coming election.

“You know, when I came here, I said the party was already going into a carcass. And if you recall very well, the majority of people that have defected after my coming here are huge enough and have left the PDP in a carcass. The situation in PDP, pretenders can pretend but you know that the PDP had messed up. Managing the party has become an issue.”

PDP govs prefer Tinubu to Atiku for survival – Fayose

Former Ekiti State Governor, Ayodele Fayose stated that most  governors on the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, prefer to align with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu than former Vice President Atiku Abubakar.

Fayose disclosed this on Channels TV’s Politics Today, where he described the coalition proposed by Atiku as a “dead horse.”

Fayose said: “The coalition is a dead horse ab initio. Tell me one positive person that has given his words in support of this coalition.”

He continued: “The governors’ stance in Ibadan is to tell Atiku that we are not with you, we are going nowhere, we have our own identity.

“That coalition is just the imagination of people trying to bring it to fruition. It’s a waste of time. The governors are fighting for their own survival, and they don’t need an Atiku to fight for their survival.

“In actual fact, most of them prefer a Tinubu for their survival than an Atiku. Don’t let us deceive and fool ourselves; there is nothing called coalition. Obi can’t go to Atiku; Atiku can’t go to Obi.

“You see the rate at which people are decamping from PDP. How many people are defecting from APC? Something is fundamentally wrong in PDP that needs to be fixed.”

Wike a force beyond PDP, sack him at your own peril – Fayose warns

Former Governor of Ekiti State, Ayodele Fayose, has warned the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, against sacking the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, FCT, Nyesom Wike, from the party.

Fayose issued the warning while appearing on Channels Television’s Hard Copy.

He stated that Wike is a force beyond the party.

According to Fayose: “The moment I am not in the PDP, I would never join another political party. And I would never be a member of the APC – not whether they are good or bad.

“Some people say fight Wike, expel Wike, sack Wike. I think they do that at their own peril. You see, the first thing in your family, even when you have extreme situations or indifferences, is not to drive away your wife or husband.

“Wike is a force in the PDP and beyond PDP, a force you cannot ignore, ignore Wike, sack Wike, or fight Wike at your own peril. He is a man of capacity.”

There have been calls for the PDP to expel Wike from the party following his decision to support President Bola Tinubu of the All Progressives Congress, APC, during the last presidential election.

Recently, the new Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, FCT, had declared that nobody can expel him from the former ruling party.

Ologunagba said the decision of the Damagum leadership is “without prejudice to the powers of the NWC to take necessary disciplinary action against any member of the Party at any time pursuant to the provisions of the Constitution of the PDP (as amended in 2017).

“The NWC charges all leaders, critical stakeholders and teeming members of our Party across the country to be guided by the provisions of the PDP Constitution (as amended in 2017) as well as the new spirit and necessity of reconciliation, unity and harmony in our Party at this critical time.

PDP must remain focused as we continue to take every necessary action to recover the stolen mandate freely given by Nigerians to our Party and Presidential Candidate, Atiku Abubakar, on Saturday February 25, 2023, at the Presidential Election Petition Tribunal.”

A former Minister of State for Defence, Senator Musiliu Obanikoro, has told the Federal High Court in Lagos that he was made to refund between N100m and N200m to the Federal Government under duress.

Obanikoro stated this on Tuesday while testifying before the court as the 12th prosecution witness in the trial of a former governor of Ekiti State, Mr Ayodele Fayose.

Fayose and his company, Spotless Investment Limited, are being prosecuted by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission for alleged N2.2bn fraud.

The EFCC accused Fayose of taking N1.2bn from a former National Security Adviser, Sambo Dasuki, to prosecute his governorship election.

The defendants were also alleged to have on June 17, 2014, without going through financial institutions, received $5m from Obanikoro.

    But Fayose denied the allegations.

TheNewsGuru.com (TNG) reports that Obanikoro, in his earlier testimony, told the court how he transported the cash in an aircraft and delivered to Fayose in Ekiti State.

He told Justice Chukwujeku Aneke that N1.2bn was deposited into the account of a company, Sylva McNamara, which was used to fund clandestine security operations aimed at preventing terrorists’ activities in Lagos State in two batches.

At the resumed trial on Tuesday, Obanikoro, while being cross-examined by the counsel for the second defendant, Mr Olalekan Ojo, (SAN), told the court that during the investigation of the case, he was invited by the EFCC, grilled and forced to refund N100m or N200m under duress.

Obanikoro, who told the court that after various investigations, the EFCC exonerated him of any wrongdoing, added,”I was made to refund between N100m and N200m to the Federal Government under duress.

“I have instructed his lawyers, to write the EFCC for the return of the money he allegedly refunded under duress,” he said.

    — Peter Ayodele Fayose (@GovAyoFayose) March 1, 2023
While other candidates have rejected the election and called for its cancellation, Fayose is requesting one thing from them.

“As the presidential election comes to an end, I urge other contestants, especially Atiku Abubakar to accept the outcome in the overall interest of our country. There will always be another day,” the former governor said.

Fayose, who ruled Ekiti under the umbrella of the PDP, is equally calling for the resignation of the party’s embattled national chairman Ayu.

The younger brother to a former Governor of Ekiti State, Ayodele Fayose, Isaac has admitted that Rivers State Governor, Nyesom Wike is working for the All Progressives Congress, APC, presidential candidate, Bola Tinubu in the South-South region.

Femi Adesina reveals why Buhari did not push for Fayose’s impeachment

President Muhammadu Buhari’s spokesman, Femi Adesina, has disclosed that the president refrained from removing former Governor Ayodele Fayose from office at a time he had the powers and opportunities to remove the Ekiti governor.

Adesina made the disclosure in an article he wrote to commemorate Buhari’s 80th birthday anniversary, slated for December 17.

In his weekly article titled: ‘Buhari at 80: No Malicious Bone In His Body,’ the presidential spokesman recounted how Fayose had criticized Buhari during the 2014 campaigns.

Adesina noted that after the president won the

election, he could have retaliated against Fayose by mobilizing the state House of Assembly against Fayose.

The article reads: “How about Ayo Fayose, the Irunmole that eats Jollof rice. The former Ekiti State Governor had taken a stand against Buhari since 2014, during the campaigns. There was that infamous advertisement he placed in newspapers, displaying a coffin, and insinuating that if Buhari was elected, he would not last the distance.

“Fayose’s party was beaten black and blue, and entered President Buhari. What would an average, vengeful person have done, if he were in the mould of the man with the teacup and saucer?

“When Buhari came, the Ekiti House of Assembly was largely populated by APC members, whom Fayose had inherited. What to do? Just give a directive: remove that Governor within a week, and he directs the Inspector General of Police to lock down the Assembly chamber. But not Buhari. Why? Because he has no malicious bone in his body.”

He recalled that Buhari gave Fayose a warm handshake during a Council of State meeting at the Presidential Villa.”

Former Ekiti State Governor, Ayodele Fayose, has said the Labour Party, LP, presidential candidate, Peter Obi, is more of chronic cancer to the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP ahead of the 2023 election.

He disclosed this while speaking with Channels TV on Thursday night.

He said, “Obi is a danger to watch out for. I don’t believe Obi will make 25 percent of votes in two-thirds of the States of the federation.

“I’m not against Obi. I love him and he is a very vibrant leader. I don’t believe he will get the required 25 percent of votes because of my permutation as Ayodele Fayose, but with God, nothing shall be impossible.

“Let me say Obi is more of chronic cancer to PDP and there is no denying it.

“Let me give you an analysis. In the South-West, people might not like to hear that, I don’t see how PDP will win.”

In May, the former Anambra State governor had dumped PDP and joined LP in pursuit of his presidential ambition.
