He added that some men who couldn’t perform in bed have also heaped the blame on the president, adding that Nigerians see Buhari as their fall guy.

Adesina disclosed this in his weekly article shared on his Facebook titled, ‘I Still Believe In Buhari.’

The article reads in part: “Resentment is a poor prop for anyone to lean on, goes another saying. But not for some Nigerians. Resentment is their daily food and drink, and they heap all the problems in the country on the head of the President if it rains too much.

“Blame Buhari. It doesn’t rain at all. Buhari is the cause. A man gets to bed at night with no power. Buhari oooo. The President is the fall guy for everything.”

President Buhari says Nigeria’s maritime territory to be expanded through UNCLOS

President Muhammadu Buhari has said Nigeria is at the verge of extending its territory without “war, litigation or purchase” but with efforts at expanding its maritime territory through the United Nations Convention on the Law of the Sea (UNCLOS) fully on course.

He gave this assurance on Tuesday in Abuja while receiving a progress report from the High-Powered Presidential Committee on Nigeria’s Extended Continental Shelf Project.

In a statement by his Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Mr. Femi Adesina, the President said: “I am looking forward to the day that I can announce to Nigerians that additional maritime territory has been approved for Nigeria by the United Nations Commission on the limits of the continental shelf.”

The President assured the committee, chaired by the Minister of Justice and Attorney General of the Federation, Abubakar Malami (SAN), of his full support on Nigeria’s submission to the United Nations for additional maritime area under the recognised international convention.

President Buhari also assured them of his support to conclude the project in good time.

Underscoring his special interest in the project, the President said: “I have always had special interest in this project right from the first day I heard of it. This is because this type of project, where Nigeria will gain additional territory without conflict, has never happened before in her lifetime.

“I am, therefore, glad that it is happening within our lifetime. This is one of the many reasons I have been ardently following your progress over time.

“It is my intention to support the submission to the United Nations for additional maritime area, in accordance with the United Nations Convention on the Law of the Sea (UNCLOS), to claim for Nigeria every bit of space that she deserves under UNCLOS.

“It is pleasing to know that most wars that have taken place in the world since time immemorial, including the present times, have always been territorial. Nigeria has this one and only chance to gain territory without war, litigation, or purchase.

“More so when this territory lies within the area dubbed as ‘the Golden Triangle’ in the Gulf of Guinea, which contains unquantifiable resources some of which have not even been discovered.”

Thanking President Buhari for his support to the project, malami said: “I thank you for making this project your pet project, because when it was virtually dead after being dormant for more than 30 months and the Nigerian experts had almost given up on it, you rescued it, and it is where it is today because of you.”

The President listened to an administrative presentation on the project by a surveyor, Aliyu Omar, who is also the Secretary of the Committee, while the technical part was presented by Prof. Lawrence Awosika, a marine geophysicist and former Director at the Nigerian Institute for Oceanography and Marine Research.

‘Las Las’ Nigerians will survive the fuel scarcity – Femi Adesina

Special Adviser to President Muhammadu Buhari on Media and Publicity, Femi Adesina has said Nigerians would survive the current fuel scarcity.

Adesina said heavens would not fall over the current fuel scarcity and Nigerians will survive like always.

He stated this in his latest weekly article on Thursday titled “KNOCK, KNOCK. WHO’S THERE?”

The presidential aide recalled that Nigerians had experienced a similar situation in the past and they survived.

Adesina’s article reads partly: “It’s obviously not the easiest of times in our country currently, what with severe fuel scarcity exacerbating the other existential challenges we have been coping with.

“In some areas, there’s no fuel, no electricity, thus translating to a severe energy crisis

“There were cases of bad fuel before in this country. We slept for days, weeks on end at petrol stations, queuing for fuel. We survived. We will survive again. Las las.”

Nigerians have been battling with fuel scarcity since February.

The scarcity is said to have been caused by the importation of adulterated fuel.

However, the Federal Government had assured Nigerians that normalcy would soon return because it has enough fuel.

  • ‘President Buhari yet to take a decision on the signing of electoral bill into law’-Femi Adesina

‘President Buhari yet to take a decision on the signing of electoral bill into law’-Femi Adesina

The Presidency on Monday said President Muhammadu Buhari still has more days to decide on signing the amended Electoral Bill into law.

A statement issued by Mr Femi Adesina, Special Adviser to the President on Media and Publicity, tackled some groups and individuals accusing the president of being reluctant in assenting to the controversial bill.

According to Adesina, the Nigerian constitution gives the president the window of 30 days to scrutinize the bill after it has been transmitted by the National Assembly, stressing that Buhari has from now till March 1st to decline or sign the bill into law.

According to Daily post after amending the bill, the National Assembly, on January 31, 2022, transmitted it to the executive for signing.

The statement reads, “Some interest groups are cashing in on what they consider a delay in the signing of the Electoral Bill into law by the President to foment civil disorder and muddy the waters.

“One can just pity their ignorance of Constitutional requirements, as the President has a window of 30 days within which to sign the Bill, or decline assent after it had been transmitted to him by the National Assembly.

“A proposed legislation that has to do with the electoral fortunes of the country needs to be thoroughly scrutinized, and be made as near-perfect as possible.

“Those playing cheap politics with it are, therefore, encouraged to hold their peace, knowing that the right thing will be done within the lawful time”.

  • Buhari is not wicked but strict – Femi Adesina

Buhari is not wicked but strict – Femi Adesina

Special Adviser to President Muhammadu Buhari on Media and Publicity, Femi Adesina has described his boss as a strict man with a kind heart.

Adesina, in his weekly article, ‘Fridays With Adesina’ dismissed insinuations that the president is wicked and has no good plan for the nation, claiming Buhari is kind to both the living and the dead.

According to the presidential spokesman, Nigerians who destructively criticize the president are ignorant of his personality.

He said the President’s kind heart is why some of them could not abandon him even in the face of crisis.

Let us not be quick to condemn what or who we don’t know or understand. President Buhari is strict, unbending on certain issues. But wicked? Not so.

In the days of Gen Murtala Ramat Muhammed as head of state, one senior military officer described him as a bully, “a kind-hearted bully.”

Same with Buhari. Not a bully, but a strict man with a kind heart. A man who does not forget to show kindness to both the living and the dead.

You now see why some of us have chosen to follow the President through thick and thin? “Blessed be he of the Lord, who has not left off his kindness to the living and the dead.”
