[Video]Fani-Kayode attacks Dino Melaye again for mistakenly saying ‘vote for APC’ during Borno rally

The battle between a  chieftain of the All Progressives Congress, (APC), Femi Fani-Kayode and  former Kogi West Senator, Dino Melaye is far from over as the former again mocked the latter for his gaffe during the PDP presidential rally in Borno state on Wednesday.

At the  presidential rally in Maiduguri, yesterday, Melaye had mistakenly urged the people on ground  to vote for the APC.

Melaye spoke while alleging that the APC presidential campaign team was attacked while en route the State.

It was reported that unknown gunmen allegedly attacked Atiku’s convoy in Maiduguri

Melaye said : “46 cars have been damaged, and I just got a report that 70 people are in the hospital, but the people of Borno have decided that they are throwing away the broom and going with the umbrella; you are voting APC everywhere.”

Reacting to the gaffe, Fani-Kayode said the spokesman of the PDP presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar campaign was right.

In a tweet, Fani-Kayode wrote: “Earlier today, the rear guard receiver said the people of Borno State “are voting APC.

“For the first and probably the last time in his life, he got it right!”

Fani Kayode and Dino Melaye have been at loggerheads over party differences and loyalty.

2023: APC denies plots to stop electronic transmission of results

The All Progressives Congress (APC) Presidential Campaign Council (PCC) has denied allegations that the Federal Government is putting pressure on the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to stop the electronic transmission of election results in 2023.

Mr Femi Fani-Kayode, Director of Special Media Project, Operations and New Media of the APC Presidential Campaign Council said this when he spoke with newsmen on Wednesday in Abuja.

He spoke at the end of a meeting between the PCC, the APC National Working Committee (NWC) and the Progressives Governors Forum (PGF).

Opposition parties had accused the Federal Government of putting pressure on INEC to deactivate the Bi-modal Voter Accreditation System (BVAS) from its server ahead of the elections. But Fani-Kayode said it was untrue.

“The answer to that is absolute nonsense. It’s what you call poppycock, and these are the words of a drowning party, spoken by a drowning man with a drowning candidate. There is nothing like that, we are above board, we are serious about what we are trying to do, we are going to achieve our objective, we are going to win this election fair and square.

“They are the ones that have lost five governors, they are the ones that can’t get their party leaders to come to their rallies at their presidential inauguration. We don’t have that challenge, we are working slowly but surely, as one together, everybody is coming together and I am very proud to be part of this,” he said.

Fani-Kayode said that the meeting which also had the four media directorates of the PCC in attendance, clarified all pending issues concerning the commencement of the 2023 presidential campaign. He added that the party and the PCC was working in unity with the objective of winning the 2023 presidential election with a land slide, saying that the APC was not in a rush to commence campaigns.

“We have a very strong team, very strong candidate, very strong governors, very strong party input and leadership and that PCC is waxing strong,” he said.

Mr Festus Keyamo, also a spokesman of the APC PCC while reacting to the allegation, said there had been absolutely no occasion that the party either by its National Working Committee (NWC) or any of its level of leadership put any kind of pressure on INEC.

He said the allegation was being peddled by those who were sensing defeat in the 2023 general election.

“They are already looking for reasons for that defeat, that is one of the reasons they are trying to generate to accommodate their defeat, because they know that their defeat is eminent,” he stressed.

There is a spiritual dimension to the rise of Obi – Fani-Kayode

A Chieftain of the ruling All Progressive Congress (APC) Femi Fani-Kayode, has admitted that the Labour Party (LP) candidate, Peter Obi, is moving very fast in the pursuit of his 2023 presidential ambition in the country.

Fani Kayode further explained that there is a spiritual dimension to the rise of Obi among other presidential candidates in the 2023 race.

The former aviation Minister noted that Obi and his followers, known as the Obidients, may soon overtake the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) as the main opposition in the country.

Although, the former PDP member said Obi and Atiku Abubakar of the PDP are no match for Bola Tinubu of the All Progressives Congress (APC).

He posted on his social media handles: “Obi is moving fast and strong. There is a spiritual dimension to his rise.

“At this rate, he and his Obidients may soon topple PDP to become Nigeria’s main opposition party.

“Yet the two of them put together cannot stand against the fire and fury of the BATISTS and JAGABANISTS of the APC!”

Expert analysis of the forthcoming election says that it will be keenly contested among the three leading contestants in the country, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar, Peter Obi and Bola Tinubu.

The presidential elections in the country will hold on the 25th of February 2023 according to the Independent National  Electoral Commission, (INEC).

Fani-Kayode, a political scavenger – Dino Melaye says

PDP’s Atiku-Okowa Presidential Campaign in 2023 spokesperson, Senator Dino Melaye has described Femi Fani – Kayode as a political scavenger.

He said this in a statement on his verified Facebook page Sunday night.

According to the former Senator, the PDP has no position to offer characters such as Fani – Kayode in its campaign council.

Dino’s comments come against the backdrop of this reaction by Fani – Kayode about an interview he granted in recent past.

The PDP campaign spokesman described Fani – Kayode’s comments comments as a mixture of prevarication, lack of comprehension and a voyage in meddlesomeness and idleness.

“My attention has just been drawn to a statement issued by Femi Fani-Kayode, which as usual, was an incoherent gibberish produced from his temporary relief from insanity. How can one explain his momentary consciousness to react to an interview long granted, if not that his world of reality is not in sync with the world of sound minds? His comment was at best a mixture of prevarication, lack of comprehension and a voyage in meddlesomeness and idleness,” the statement said.

“Truly, an idle hand and heart like that of FFK is the devil’s residence. Ordinarily, his rambling would have been ignored, but in this age of unrestricted access to the media even by unwholesome minds, care must be taken to put issues in the right context and perspective. The roller-coaster FFK is merely seeking to receive attention, having employed all forms of ingratiation to be recruited by the Presidential candidate of the People’s Democratic Party, Atiku Abubakar, but failed,” he added.

“To be sure, he contacted Timi Frank to help lobby for a job in the Campaign Directorate, but where is the record to help his desire? As a serial hustler around food dispensers, FFK’s misadventure into the issue of the leadership of the PDP is nothing but a subtle campaign to be noticed and rewarded by prospective paymasters.

“Nigerians cannot forget in a hurry how FFK bootlicked and cajoled Yahaya Bello during his presidential experiment, but later jumped to the presidential train of Senator Ahmed Lawan in the throes of the presidential primary election of the All Progressives Congress in an unabashed and unconscionable manner. Now that campaign structures have been formed by parties and he’s sidelined, having lost face everywhere, he has found the PDP as the access card to his next meal.

“Is FFK so obtuse that he can not understand that delegates could not have trekked from everywhere to Abuja without being transported? Has he not recovered well enough from the doses administered during his rehabilitation to understand that governors and other leaders supported delegates from all states to the National Convention? Is he equating the sound mind of Judges with his own reprobate mind that he’s threatening to go to court over a matter that he has neither locus nor a reasonable cause?

“Often when the issue of FFK comes up, I easily call to mind the time-standing analysis by ex-president Olusegun Obasanjo, of his personality, and the assertion that food is FFK’s price. His likes are appropriately described in Philippians 3:19, as belonging to the class of those ‘whose god is their belly, and whose glory is their shame. Sorry, PDP has no food for the lazy. And knowing FFK’s reputation for political scavenging, let me also ask him the unanswered question. FFK, who bankrolled your statement?.”

Political watchers are observing with keen interest as Femi – Kayode is expected to give his own rebuttals, probably this time, swiftly.

  • 2023: Why Dino Melaye, Ayu, members of PDP NWC should be arrested now – Fani-Kayode

2023: Why Dino Melaye, Ayu, members of PDP NWC should be arrested now – Fani-Kayode

Former Minister of Aviation, Mr Femi Fani-Kayode has called for the arrest of Dino Melaye, who is the spokesman of the Atiku Abubakar presidential campaign organization.

TheNewsGuru.com (TNG) reports that Fani-Kayode also called for the arrest of the National Chairman of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), Iyorchia Ayu and members of the party’s National Working Committee (NWC).

In a statement released on Sunday, the former Aviation Minister averred that Melaye, Ayu and members of the PDP NWC should be arrested immediately for recent comments made by the Kogi former Senator.

Fani-Kayode refers to this comment: “All the PDP Governors spent money at our party’s Convention to get Ayu elected as Nat. Chairman” reportedly made by Melaye.

“This is a grave and serious matter. It is a public confession of a criminal offence made by a senior figure within the PDP cabal that committed the said offence. It follows that Ayu’s election was a product of corruption and criminality and so was Waziri Atiku Abubakar’s as their party’s presidential flagbearer at a later convention which was conducted by him,” he stated.

Fani-Kayode in the statement went further to explain the nature of the criminality while stressing that with the supposed confession of Melaye, the presidential and vice presidential candidates of the PDP are “illegal, illegitimate, bogus… fake…”

The statement reads in full: “Senator Dino Melaye, the spokesman of the Atiku Abubakar PCO, said, “All the PDP Governors spent money at our party’s National Convention to get Senator Iyorcha Ayu elected as National Chairman”.

“This is a grave and serious matter. It is a public confession of a criminal offence made by a senior figure within the PDP cabal that committed the said offence.

“It follows that Ayu’s election was a product of corruption and criminality and so was Waziri Atiku Abubakar’s as their party’s presidential flagbearer at a later convention which was conducted by him.

“A National Chairman that is a product of corruption and that was elected as a consequence of financial inducements, monetary gifts and the illegal use of public funds cannot be deemed as being legitimate and neither can he conduct a legitimate convention for a presidential flagbearer.

“Ayu and his entire NWC together with the PDPs Presidential and Vice Presidential candidates are illegal, illegitimate, bogus, fake and repugnant products of cash-induced and cash and carry elections which, according to Melaye, were funded with public funds provided by the PDP Governors.

“The entire leadership structure of PDP now stand accused and indicted by one of their own.

“It follows that they are nothing but a party of scammers, carpet-baggers, vote-procurers, petty thieves, pick pockets and yahoo-yahoo criminals whose malevolent disposition and evil operations are shrouded in darkness and secrecy, who behave like Al Capone’s Cosa Nostra and who cannot be trusted with power.

“I hereby call on the Federal Government and the security agencies to invite Senator Dino Melaye to shed more light on how much each of the PDP Governors gave for Ayu’s “election” and I call on them to arrest and prosecute Iyorcha Ayu and the entire NWC of the PDP for being accomplices to a criminal act, beneficiaries of the crime of corruption and accessories after the fact.

“I also call on INEC to nullify Ayu’s so-called election as National Chairman and to do same to that of Abubakar Atiku’s who was purportedly elected as the party’s flagbearer.

“The public confession of Melaye, a leading member of the opposition PDP, who claims to have witnessed these corrupt events and practices during the course of Ayu’s election and who is no less than the spokesman of Atiku’s PCO has changed everything and taken the matter to a new level.

“Before we only speculated about the rot, rodents and filth that is in the PDP but today we have been provided with the evidence that we need thanks to Dino.

“By his confession alone it is clear that they have fouled up the whole process, broken the law and proved that they cannot be trusted with power.

“The individuals concerned must all be disqualified by INEC and their last two party Conventions and everything that was done in both must be declared illegal, null and void.

“Everyone involved in these illegal acts, subversion of the electoral process, violation of the electoral laws and monstrous crimes, including Ayu, his entire NWC and their presidential candidate Atiku Abubakar, must be barred from participating in any way in the coming elections or from running for public office as a consequence of their irresponsible acts and criminal activities and they must be arrested and prosecuted for their disgraceful and corrupt practices.

“No-one is above the law. If you violate INEC’s rules, violate the provisions of the Electoral Act, break the law and indulge in criminal activities during the conduct of your party conventions there must and will be consequences.

“If the security agencies do not act on this matter promptly then some of us will have no choice but to take this matter up in court because the actions of the PDP, according to the spokesman of their PCO, have broken the laws of the land. Justice must be served. Shame on them!”

2023: How Jonathan received Tinubu, Shettima – Fani-Kayode

Former Aviation Minister and chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Femi Fani-Kayode has said former President Goodluck Jonathan received presidential candidate of the party, Bola Tinubu and his running mate, Kashim Shettima with “respect and joy”.

TheNewsGuru.com (TNG) reports that in continuation of his nationwide consultation with critical stakeholders ahead of the 2023 elections, Tinubu met with former President Jonathan in Abuja on Tuesday.

Fani-Kayode, in a post on his verified Facebook page, described Jonathan as one of the most civilised, compassionate, capable and humane leaders that the country has ever known, and commended the former President for receiving the standard bearer of the APC and his running mate “respect and joy”.

“I am delighted that Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Sen. Kashim Shettima, the flagbearers of our great party the APC for next years presidential election and our incoming President and Vice President respectively, had the presence of mind, maturity, decency and humility to honor him with a visit yesterday in order to brief him about their efforts and plans for our collective future as a nation and to pay their respects,” he stated.

Tinubu, a former Governor of Lagos State and one of APC’s national leaders met with Jonathan on Tuesday night at the latter’s residence and was accompanied by his running mate and five APC governors, among others, on the visit.

A source, who was at the meeting disclosed that the brief meeting gave the leaders the opportunity to discuss various national issues and the forthcoming 2023 general elections.

Tinubu, after the brief meeting, was quoted as saying that he was on a courtesy visit to the former president being a former leader and one of the critical stakeholders in the Nigeria project.

According to the source, “Tinubu told Jonathan of his presidential ambition and sought his support”.

Those who accompanied the APC presidential candidate included  Gov. Dapo Abiodun of Ogun,  Gov. Bello Matawale of Zamfara, Gov. Abubakar Badaru of Jigawa and Gov. AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq of Kwara, among others.

The source pointed out that the meeting was part of efforts by Tinubu to get the support of all critical stakeholders for his presidential ambition.

“Truly, Jonathan was at home with us. He was very receptive. You know the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) no longer accords him that respect.

“He is more comfortable with us. He is happy that Asiwaju Bola Tinubu visited him, he is at home with his aspirations,” the source said.

Tinubu also recently had a similar meeting with former President Olusegun Obasanjo in Abeokuta.

  • Who are these Obidients? – By Femi Fani-Kayode

Who are these Obidients? – By Femi Fani-Kayode

    By Femi Fani-Kayode

Let me make this clear from the outset. I am a member of the APC and a supporter of Asiwaju Bola Tinubu.

This contribution does not in any way derogate from that and my analysis is more of an academic and intellectual exercise than anything else.

I am NOT a supporter of Peter Obi and I have NO intention of becoming one. I am however interested on what his supporters represent and stand for and that is the subject of this essay.

They are worthy of my attention only because their rise and relevance in the political configuration of our nation, just in a matter of weeks, is meteoric and phenomenal.

In order to counter and defeat them or to keep them in their place we must at least attempt to understand them and figure out how their minds work.

    The following are my findings:

Those that are the supporters of Peter Obi, the Labour Party presidential candidate, are known as ‘Obidients’ and they are EVERYWHERE.

Those of us in the larger political parties like the ruling APC and the opposition PDP, treat them with contempt and ignore them at our own peril.

The truth is that they are far more dangerous to our collective cause as a ruling class than many of us can possibly conceive or appreciate.

Only the discerning can appreciate this and know precisely where this whole thing may be heading.

They may not have structures or elected representatives in the legislative and executive arms of Government but they have IDEAS and VISION coupled with a clear ideological and philosophical bent which can and will endure for far longer than mere political platforms and structures.

Unknown to them as well as virtually everyone else, therein lies their power. As they say, an idea whose time has come cannot be stopped.

Long after we are all gone they will still be here because structures and political alliances rarely endure but IDEAS and VISION last forever.

Again they will outlive and outlast us all because they are not a political party in the true sense of the word but rather a growing national movement which scales and spreads across ethnic, religious, political and regional lines and traditional boundaries.

They also represent a generational and paradigm shift which is increasingly attractive to many and they are bound tightly together by a common purpose, common cause and common objective: namely to rid Nigeria of the old order and usher in the new.

That is really what they want to do and that is the primary and strongest source of their inspiration and motivation.

They are far more dangerous to what the French describe as the ‘Ancien Regime’, the old political class and the entire system itself than anything we have ever seen before because most of them, bar their leader and a small handful of political tried and tested veterans and old war horses around him, are NOT politicians and have never ventured anywhere near the political arena or the circles of power.

In the main they are an innovatively aggressive and frightful array and association of angry and determined young men and women who clearly have the courage of their convictions coupled with the audacity, fury, daring, rage and firm resolve of those that were involved in the Endsars protesters and the fiery footsoldiers that effected the 1917 Russian Bolshevik revolution led by Vladimir Iliyich Lenin.

There is also something Rawlingesque and intimidating about them.

That is to say they are like the late, great and mighty son of Africa and leader of Ghana, President Jerry Rawlings, who also led a successful revolution in his country in 1979 and who, on his second coming in 1981 when he toppled yet another Government said, “if there is no justice there can be no peace!”

That is the spirit that is in the Obidients and that is what moves them.

Yet though they do not like to hear it their chances of winning the presidential election next year, short of a miracle, are very slim and deep down they all know it even if they refuse to publicly acknowledge it.

Despite that they are determined to fight to the end, hope for the best, work hard and give it their best shot and, of course, therein lies their victory.

In this game courage is the key. As they say, ‘he who dares wins’. Again as they say, ‘fortune favours the bold’ and these young people are both daring and bold.

That they can challenge the status quo and vie for the sacred and awesome power that has been shared by the two major political parties or their ancestral variants over the last 62 years is commendable in itself. I am not part of them but I certainly commend and applaud their efforts.

They too have a right to fight for their rights and future and to be heard. They too have a dream and a story to tell and we must never begrudge them that.

Yet if the truth be told they are not only interested in winning an election but, perhaps even more importantly, they are interested in making a profound and defiant statement, registering their protest against the status qou and the powers that be and triggering and engendering a full scale, comprehensive and all-embracing social, cultural and political revolution.

They want a real and fundamental change and not a fake one. They want to pull the whole house and system down with everyone in it and rebuild a new one in their own image, with their own values and on their own terms.

Most important of all they want to see the back of those of us that are in any way associated with the old order or that have been in Government or the corridors of power at ANY point in time over the last 62 years.

That desire and sentiment is the force that is driving and propelling them and that is kindling their fire and swelling their ranks.

They are like the Robspiers and the Marats of the bloody French revolution between 1789 and 1799 whose battle cry was “liberty, equality and fraternity”, who brought an end to the French monarchy, Royal family and nobility, chopped off their heads and established a proud and strong new order and proud Republic.

Like Robspier’s tiny cabal of French revolutionaries they are led by a small cell of intellectual and idealistic hardliners and are bolstered, girded and supported by a volatile, massive and increasingly dangerous support group and power base who threaten violence and hurl insults at their perceived detractors at the drop of a hat and as a consequence of years of pent up anger and frustration.

If they ever get power many heads will role and many of today’s and yesterday’s leaders will run into exile or go into hiding.

This is especially so of those who have something to hide or who have skeletons in their cupboards.

That is what makes them so threatening and I repeat, those of us that are in the larger political parties or that are members of the existing and ancient ruling class underestimate them, ignore them and display disdain for their firm resolve and rising anger at our own peril.

Most of my political associates, friends and colleagues across party lines tend to dismiss them with contempt.

They regard them as being inconsequential and argue that they only exist on social media. I beg to differ. I see them in the streets and I see them in the Churches.

I see them amongst my staff and amongst those that regard themselves as being amongst the oppressed and downtrodden.i see them amongst the professionals and those thst are bankers, lawyers, doctors and artists.

I see them in the North, West, East and South. I see them everywhere and not only on social media.

I see them as being a very powerful and potent rising force which, if properly managed, will develop into a major political power over the next few years with a strong ideological and electoral foundation and massive structures.

That is the potential that they have and that is how dangerous they can be.

The sooner those of us that are in the larger political parties get off our high horses, display a little humility, try and understand their mindset, reach out to them, take them more seriously, appreciate their anger, restore their hope, make the necessary concessions and try and abate their rage and rising angst the better it will be for us all.

They may not have today but if we do not play our cards right they may end up having tomorrow.

    May God help us all.

Muslim-Muslim Ticket: Fani Kayode speaks on supporting Tinubu, Shettima

A Chieftain of the All Progressives Congress, (APC) Femi Fani-Kayode has risen to the defense of Tinubu-Shettima’s Muslim-Muslim ticket.

Fani Kayode posited that Tinubu is politically mature enough to know what’s good for him.

Fani-Kayode who had criticized the APC government before now admitted that he did so because he was in the opposition at then.

He said he has prayed about the Muslim-Muslim ticket and got a revelation that he can support it, saying there is nothing wrong with it.

Admitting that no real Christian would be pleased with such selection, the former PDP stalwart said he had prayed about it and that there was nothing wrong with the choice.

Quizzed on Channels TV, on his massive support for the APC after being a critic in the past, Fani-Kayode said that when he joined APC, he discovered that many things have changed and that even the issue of vulcanization had been thrown out of the window by the emergence of Bola Tinubu as the presidential candidate of the APC.

“My choice to speak for APC and Tinubu has nothing to do with morals. It’s a question of choice. It’s my choice. When I was in the PDP, I fought against those that were against my party. Now I’m no longer in the PDP and I’m in the APC, I’ll fight against those that are against my party,” Fani-Kayode said.

“That is my nature and I make these choices based on conviction and based on courage. The most important thing…the greatest danger to national unity and cohesion as far as I’m concerned…is a situation whereby power does not shift to the South after eight years of the Hausa/Fulani man ruling this country.

“And the APC has come up with a Southern candidate and that’s the most important thing. Now the choices that the Southern candidate makes are the choice he is comfortable with.

“There are issues with the same faith ticket. There are issues with that. Any Christian that will tell you he is particularly happy with that then seriously speaking cannot be a real Christian.

“But as far as I’m concerned, it’s simply an issue of choice. The issue of Fulanization we talked about has been thrown out of the window because the party we accused of that has shifted power to the South. When I joined the APC, I realized that things have completely changed.

“A country where we have about 22 Christian governors, with the whole of South West all Christian Governors, tells you that this country cannot be Islamised and out party, the APC is not interested in that. We have reformed. We are moving forward.

“Same faith ticket is a challenge but we looked into it, I prayed and consulted about it and spoke to Kashim because all along the position has been it all depends on who’s the vice. It’s not about the faith. It’s about the individual. I discussed this with Shettima for over three hours.

“I looked into their eyes and raised several personal questions that I needed to be certified and he certified me with his answers. He has built more churches in Borno than any other governor before him and since he has won the confidence of many Christians, so the issue of Islamization no longer arises.”

Send terrorists to hell instead of going after BBC – Fani-Kayode tells FG

Former Aviation Minister, Femi Fani-Kayode has asked the federal government to go after terrorists and send them to hell instead of going after the British Broadcasting Corporation (BBC) and other media platforms for airing their messages.

TheNewsGuru.com (TNG) reports Fani-Kayode made this known on Thursday while saying foreign mediums interviewed Osama Bin Ladin, the leader of Al Qaeda too just as they aired the interviews and messages of evil men like Mohammed Al Baghdadi, the founder of ISIS and Abubakar Shekau, the leader of Boko Haram.

“Thankfully these evil men were all eventually killed by security forces so they were no longer in a position to grant any self-serving interviews. That is the best and only way to silence such barbaric creatures and erase their evil message from the psyche of humanity,” the former Minister stated.

He, however, noted that although the Brits did not allow the IRA to be granted interviews on British Television, that did not stop them from being interviewed and aired by foreign mediums and international television networks outside of the UK.

Fani-Kayode wrote: “It baffles me that the FG or anyone else should complain about the interview that the BBC granted to a murderous, notorious & wicked Nigerian terrorist. This is not the first or the last time this sort of thing will happen and frankly it is common place all over the world.

“Foreign mediums interviewed Osama Bin Ladin, the leader of Al Qaeda too just as they aired the interviews and messages of evil men like Mohammed Al Baghdadi, the founder of ISIS and Abubakar Shekau, the leader of Boko Haram.

“Thankfully these evil men were all eventually killed by security forces so they were no longer in a position to grant any self-serving interviews. That is the best and only way to silence such barbaric creatures and erase their evil message from the psyche of humanity.

“It is true that the Brits did not allow the IRA to be granted interviews on British Television but that did not stop them from being interviewed & aired by foreign mediums and international television networks outside of the UK.

“Even American local and international television networks interviewed IRA leaders regularly just as they did leaders of other violent terrorist organisations. If the FG wants the world to stop treating us with disdain & to prevent int. networks to stop airing interviews of the monsters of BH & ISWAP they should do more to fight terror & remove the terrorists from the land of the living.

“We should change the entire Military High Command &replace them with competent, loyal & patriotic commanders, equip our boys in the Army, Airforce & Navy with the necessary resources, weapons & hardware & send them into battle against the terrorists with the full backing & support of their military commanders, the FG and the Commander in Chief.

“The FG must wake up, annihilate the terrorists & send each of them to hell where they belong instead of whining & complaining about them being interviewed by the BBC.

“That is the way forward and that is the answer. If you remove them from the face of the earth they will not be in a position to grant foreign television stations self-serving interviews and neither will they be able to spread their vile poison and murderous disposition”.

Prison break: Fani-Kayode, DHQ clash over Kuje attack

Former Minister of Aviation, Femi Fani-Kayode and Defence Headquarters have clashed over the recent attack on the correctional facility in Kuje.

Defence spokesman, Maj.-Gen. Jimmy Akpor, had in a statement yesterday said Fani-Kayode’s claim that soldiers were withdrawn shortly before the prison was attacked was false.

“It may not be impossible that such a claim is part of a calculated attempt to cause division and rivalry amongst all government agencies that have been working collaboratively in addressing issues of insecurity in the country.

“The claim that soldiers were withdrawn from the Kuje Correctional Custodial Centre before the attack is laughable.

“It is sad that Fani-Kayode is ignorant of whose responsibility it is to guard prison,” Akpor said.

He also accused Fani-Kayode of attempting to malign the leadership of the military, by creating an impression that while junior military commanders and non-commissioned officers were working hard, senior commanders were doing nothing.

However, in a lengthy statement posted to Instagram today, FFK said that he would not be cowered into silence.

“For this I offer no apology and I stand by everything that I said in that video including the assertion that the leadership and rank and file of the DSS, NIA and NPF have continued to give the necessary intelligence, confront and tackle the terrorists and do their job as best as they can but the Military High Command have not,” he said.

“Others may be intimidated and compelled to remain silent but I will not. Numerous Governors, including the Governor of Zamfara state, have publicly and privately called for Nigerians to arm themselves whilst others, like the Governors of Kaduna state and Niger state, have called for greater efforts on the part of the military to seek out, uproot and confront the terrorists.
