How Fani-Kayode bought me sex toys to cover his impotency for six years, estranged wife tells court

Ex-beauty queen, Precious Chikwendu has told a Customary Court of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Abuja that a former aviation minister, Femi Fani-Kayode, has erectile dysfunction.

According to her, Fani-Kayode never consummated his six-year relationship with her because of his alleged challenge.

Miss Chikwendu said the four children she had with Fani-Kayode were conceived via artificial insemination.

She told the court that she was forced to be celibate during the time they were together as a couple.

She also told the court that the former minister did not perform any rites before their marriage nor paid her bride price.

She, therefore, prayed the court to declare that she was never married to Fani-Kayode.

Like she has done several times, Chikwendu accused Fani-Kayode of assaulting her while they were married, adding that the former minister lied to her that his marriage to his third wife had ended.

The petitioner, Chikwendu stated this in her November 29, 2021 “Application for issuance of civil summons/plaint” against Fani-Kayode, the respondent.

The suit, numbered FCT/CCK8/01/043/2021, was filed by her counsel, Mr Abiodun E. Olusanya.

She is seeking the following reliefs: “An order declaring that there was no customary marriage between the petitioner and the respondent (despite their six-year cohabitation) under the Nanka, Orumba North, Anambra State of Igbo native law and customs.

“Alternatively, assuming by the evidence during the trial the court finds that there was a customary marriage between parties:

“An order dissolving the customary marriage between the petitioner and the respondent forthwith.

“An order granting the petitioner access to and custody of the four children of the cohabitation between parties especially during their academic calendar.

“An order ordering the respondent to be continuously responsible for the academic, medical, clothing and welfare of the four children of the cohabitation.

“An order ordering the respondent to release and return the Petitioner’s property.”

The properties are the petitioner’s certificates and documents, trophies from the United Nations pageantry, Red Range Rover SUV, registered under her foundation’s name and the foundation’s certificates and the petitioner’s picture, among others.

She identified others as her mother’s burial videos and souvenirs, her mother’s certificates and documents, her clothes and personal belongings including gadgets, sewing machines left at the children’s play area and her refrigerator and kitchen gadgets for her food company, Mommy Pee Food.

Chikwendu said her relationship with Fani-Kayode was full of “woes, lies, deceits, quarrels, assaults, battery and domestic violence, lack of trust and absence of love, public disgrace and shame, and absence of sex due to the inability to sexually perform and intolerable behaviour of the respondent.”

She contended that there was never a marriage between the parties on the ground, among others, that the respondent “has continuously behaved in such a way that the Petitioner cannot reasonably be expected to continue to live with the respondent any further or formally enter into any form of traditional marriage whit him.”

She added: “From the inception of the cohabitation, the Respondent has been a violent person who attacks the Petitioner and her family members at will without provocation.”

She averred that in 2016 when the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) raided Fani-Kayode’s house, she found his marriage certificate with his third wife, Regina.

She said she confronted him with it and requested to see their divorce certificate, following which he allegedly confessed that he had yet to do so.

Chinwendu said, “At every attempt, the petitioner made to have sexual intercourse with the respondent, there was never erection of the respondent’s penis/manhood and penetration was frustrating.

“During such periods of frustration and sexual desire, the petitioner would be left with the choice of merely rubbing herself on the respondent, to have the slightest bit of relief.

“The petitioner then insisted parties should seek medical help for the respondent, and on visiting the family doctor, the respondent claimed he was diagnosed of having a cyst on his penis/manhood, which is not allowing the respondent to have erection and or perform sexually,

“The respondent was supposedly placed on cyprotab and the doctor suggested that the respondent should go and decide when he wishes to remove/untangle the cyst.

“Few days after the visit to the doctor, the respondent informed the petitioner that he had discussed with Regina and she had prayed over it, that the respondent should not do the operation, else he would die.

“The respondent never took the cyprotab medication, but any time the petitioner tried to engage the respondent in sexual activities, the respondent would claim his penis/manhood was paining him and then drink the medication.
“The petitioner bought sex toys for the respondent, but the respondent refused to use it and warned the petitioner never to suggest it again.”

Chikwendu averred further that since August 2020 that she walked out of the cohabitation with the Respondent, she had been continuously denied access to her children and her children have been continuously deprived parental motherly care and protection.”

She claimed that Fani-Kayode was in the habit of not paying his domestic staff/workers/nannies, “which leaves the workers angry and they could unleash and or transfer their anger on the children, they may kill any of the children any day, if the children are left with the respondent.

“Most of the domestic staff/workers/nannies that are not paid their wages, usually resign and run away without informing anyone and considering the security situation, the workers could kidnap any of the children.
“Currently the respondent is in court with some of the former domestic staff/workers for noa payment of salaries and abuse.”

Fani-Kayode has yet to file a response to the application.

  • Money laundering case: Fani-Kayode pays N200,000 for absenteeism

Money laundering case: Fani-Kayode pays N200,000 for absenteeism

A Federal High Court in Lagos was on Tuesday told that former aviation minister Femi Fani-Kayode had complied with its order directing him to pay N200,000 for failing to appear to answer charges bordering on money laundering.

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) had charged Fani-Kayode alongside former finance minister Nenandi Usman.

Also charged is Yusuf Danjuma, a former Chairman of the Association of Local Governments of Nigeria (ALGON), and a company, Jointrust Dimentions Nigeria Ltd.

EFCC preferred a 17-count charge of N4.6billion money laundering against them in the case that was initially handled by Justice Mohammed Aikawa.

They had each pleaded not guilty to the charges and were granted bails.

Trial had begun before Justice Aikawa and witnesses were still being led in evidence, but Aikawa was transferred out of the Lagos division.

The case was consequently assigned to a new Judge, Justice Daniel Osaigor, and the defendants were scheduled for re-arraignment on Oct. 13.

Recall that on Oct. 13, Fani-Kayode was absent from court and sent a letter informing the court that he was indisposed.

The Judge, however, noted that from the court’s record, the defendant had been absent on similar excuse five consecutive times, and issued an order directing him to be present on Tuesday.

In addition, the court had imposed a cost of N200,000 on the defendant which the Judge said must be paid before the next adjourned date (today).

When the case was called on Tuesday, Mr Rotimi Oyedepo announced appearance for the prosecution

Mr Norrison Quakers (SAN), appeared for the second defendant (Fani-Kayode) while Mr Clement Onwuenwunor appeared for the third and fourth defendants.

Quakers first informed the court that he received a letter of excuse by first defence counsel, Chief Ferdinard Orbih (SAN), who is unavoidably absent.

He said that the first defence counsel had also detailed a brother silk to stand in for him, but added that the learned silk was engaged at the Supreme Court in Abuja

He urged the court to grant an adjournment as the first defence counsel had indicated intention to be personally present during arraignment and consequent trial.

He informed the court that the orders of the court directing payment of N200,000 cost by second defendant had been fully complied with.

He also informed the court that an affidavit of compliance is also before the court.

In response to the prayer for adjournment by first defence counsel, the prosecutor confirmed to the court that he had received a call from the defence counsel.

He said that Orbih had informed him of the reason for his absence, adding that he was not opposed to the application for adjournment.

Following agreement of all parties, the case was consequently adjourned until Jan. 24 for re-arraignment and trial of the defendants

In the charge, the defendants were alleged to have committed the offences between January and March 2015.

In counts one to seven, they were alleged to have unlawfully retained over N3.8 billion which they reasonably ought to have known formed part of the proceeds of an unlawful act of stealing and corruption.

In counts eight to 14, the defendants were alleged to have unlawfully used over N970 million which they reasonably ought to have known formed part of an unlawful act of corruption.

Meanwhile, in counts 15 to17, Fani-Kayode and one Olubode Oke, who is said to be at large, were alleged to have made cash payments of about N30 million, in excess of the amount allowed by law, without going through a financial institution.

Besides, Fani-Kayode was alleged to have made payments to one Paste Poster Co (PPC) of No 125 Lewis St., Lagos, in excess of amounts allowed by law.

All offences were said to have contravened the provisions of sections 15 (3) (4), 16 (2) (b), and 16 (5) of the Money laundering (prohibition) (Amendment) Act, 2012.

Again, ex-minister Fani-Kayode lands in EFCC net in Lagos

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), has again quizzed a former Aviation Minister, Femi Fani-Kayode.

He was arrested on Tuesday after he attended a court proceeding at the Federal High Court in Ikoyi, Lagos following investigations into alleged document falsification.

Sources close to him, however, stated that he was not arrested but re-invited by the anti-graft agency.

The EFCC is charging Fani-Kayode alongside a former Minister of State for Finance, Nenandi Usman and also Yusuf Danjuma, a former Chairman of the Association of Local Governments of Nigeria (ALGON) and a company, Jointrust Dimensions Nigeria Ltd on 17 counts of laundering N4.6 billion naira which is said to have contravened the provisions of the Money Laundering (Prohibition) (Amendment) Act, 2012.

When the case was mentioned at the court on Tuesday, all defendants were present.

However, the prosecution, Mr Rotimi Oyedepo did not oppose the letter of the first defence counsel who was absent.

He rather informed the court that the prosecution was glad that the court had figured out from its record that the second defendant (Fani Kayode) had sought repeated excuses from the court.

He told the court that the prosecution had recently discovered that all letters sent by Fani-Kayode were fake.

At this point, the court stopped the prosecutor on the grounds that it was a matter the agency ought to trash out before the court acted on the letters to grant an adjournment.

Subsequently, drama unfolded after the case was adjourned until January 24, 2022, and the defendants stepped out of court.

While Fani-Kayode was still at the corridor of the court, an EFCC investigator, Mr Shehu Shuaibu walked up to him alongside the prosecutor and after a brief chat, the defendant entered his vehicle and followed the EFCC operatives to their office.

An operative who confirmed at the time of filing this report, says that Mr Fani-Kayode was re-arrested and is in their custody for questioning over the false documents.

In the charge, the defendants were alleged to have committed the offences between January and March 2015.

This comes just days after the anti-graft agency had arrested Fani Kayode. But in a post on Facebook, the former Minister denied being arrested, stating that he was only invited and was later “granted bail on self-recognition”.

Fani-Kayode fumes over arrest by EFCC

Former Minister of Aviation, Mr Femi Fani-Kayode is fuming badly over reports of his recent arrest by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) in Lagos State.

TheNewsGuru.com (TNG) reports Fani-Kayode, who joined the All Progressives Congress (APC) in September, was reportedly arrested and quizzed by the anti graft agency on Tuesday.

The ex-minister is said to be under investigation for alleged forgery and manipulation of documents with which he used to evade trial for fraud.

The details of the allegations against him were sketchy but the EFCC spokesman, Mr Wilson Uwujaren, confirmed Fani-Kayode’s arrest by its operatives.

“I think something like that happened,” he said and declined to comment further.

However, Fani-Kayode, who was later granted bail, continued to deny he was arrested, even when he owned up that he was actually granted bail at about 8:30 pm same Tuesday.

“I pity those that said I was arrested. They are filled with hate & live on fake news. Since when did an invitation & a friendly chat become an arrest? And even if I had been arrested, SO WHAT? I am not above the law & neither does joining APC give me immunity. My God is MIGHTY,” Fani-Kayode tweeted.

Earlier, he had also tweeted: “Just arrived at the George Hotel for dinner. I was never arrested by the EFCC. I was invited & I flew down to Lagos to see them. I arrived in their office at 2.00pm & left at 8.30pm. I was granted bail on self recognition. They were very polite & professional. Thanks be to God”.

TNG reports Fani-Kayode has been having a running battle with the EFCC for some time and he was once remanded for 67 days in 2016.

  • BREAKING: Femi Fani-Kayode escapes going to jail

BREAKING: Femi Fani-Kayode escapes going to jail

Former Minister of Aviation, Femi Fani-Kayode on Wednesday escaped going to jail, in what might have been a big trouble for him, after he failed to appear in court for his re-arraignment.

TheNewsGuru.com (TNG) reports the court, a Federal High Court in Lagos rather ordered Fani-Kayode to pay a fine of N200,000 for being absent in the court.

The court had asked counsel to Fani-Kayode, Mr F. Ajudua to choose between revoking the bail of the second defendant or paying the fine.

The defence counsel, however, chose the fine option, saving Fani-Kayode from going to jail if his bail was revoked.

Fani-Kayode’s saving grace was that the prosecution counsel did not press that the bail of the former minister be revoked.

He was absent from the court on the excuse of having a bed rest, according to his counsel.

The court, presided over by Justice D. E Osaigor noted that having gone through the court’s file, he had noted five different letters seeking adjournment on the same medical grounds.

The court, consequently, ordered that the defendant pays a cost of N200,000 or stands the risk of having his bail revoked and sent to jail.

Recall that the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) charged Fani-Kayode alongside a former Minister of State for Finance, Nenandi Usman .

Also charged is Yusuf Danjuma, a former Chairman of the Association of Local Governments of Nigeria (ALGON) and a company, Jointrust Dimentions Nigeria Ltd.

EFCC preferred a 17-count charge of N4.6billion money laundering against them before Justice Mohammed Aikawa.

They had each pleaded not guilty to the charges and were granted bails.

Trial had begun before Justice Aikawa and witnesses were still being led in evidence, until Aikawa was transferred out of the Lagos jurisdiction.

The charge was consequently, assigned to a new judge, Justice Osaigor, and the defendants were scheduled for re-arraignment on Wednesday.

When the case was called on Wednesday, Mrs Bilikisu Buhari announced appearance for the prosecution.

Mr I.J Ogechukwu appeared for first defendant, Mr. B.F Ajudua appeared for second defendant, and Y. Olabode appeared for third and fourth defendants, holding the brief of Mr. O Clement.

The prosecutor then informed the court that on July 15, the prosecution had moved the court to adjourn the matter for a re-arraignment of the defendant.

She told the court that however, on Oct. 11, the prosecution received a letter from the second defendant informing them that he had been given bed rest.

The prosecutor told the court that these letters by the second defendant had become numerous and also an excuse for him to evade court.

“This is the third time he will be writing this type of letter from the same hospital. Whenever he doesn’t want to attend court, this is the type of letter we get,” she said

But, Fani-Kayode’s counsel, Ajudua, cut in and informed the court that although the defendant’s illness was a recurring one, the defendant had nonetheless attended court regularly, adding that this can be shown from the court’s records.

He urged the court to kindly grant an adjournment in favor of the second defendant.

At this point, the trial judge decided to go through the court’s file, and after searching, the court discovered that the second defendant had actually sought similar medical excuses five times.

The court then asked the defence counsel to take one of two options which were: to either revoke the bail of the second defendant or to impose a fine of N200,000 to be paid before the next trial date.

However, the defence counsel chose the later option.

In a short ruling, the court held: “From my records the second defendant had written the court five times excusing his trial on medical grounds

    “Feb. 1, 2018, May 30, 2019, Nov. 24, 2020, March 21, 2021 and today’s letter dated Oct. 9, 2021.

“The second defendant is to pay a cost of N200,000 before the next adjourned date, as the recurring medical excuses has been a pattern that slows this trial,” he said.

The court consequently, adjourned the case until Nov. 30 for re-arraignment of the defendants.

Meanwhile in counts 15 to17 Fani-Kayode and one Olubode Oke who is said to be at large, were alleged to have made cash payments of about N30 million, in excess of the amount allowed by law, without going through a financial institution.

Besides, Fani-Kayode was alleged to have made payments to one Paste Poster Co (PPC) of No 125 Lewis St., Lagos, in excess of amounts allowed by law.juui

All offences were said to have contravened the provisions of sections 15 (3) (4), 16 (2) (b), and 16 (5) of the Money laundering (prohibition) (Amendment) Act, 2012.

  • Why we opposed Fani-Kayode’s red carpet reception in APC – PGF DG

Why we opposed Fani-Kayode’s red carpet reception in APC – PGF DG

Dr Salihu Lukman, Director-General, Progressive Governors Forum (PGF), has explained why some members of the All Progressives Congress (APC) are protesting against the defection of Mr Femi Fani-Kayode to the party.

He gave the explanation in a statement on Sunday in Abuja while reacting to the recent defection of Fani-Kayode to the APC from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).

Lukman, in the statement entitled: “APC’s High Profile Membership Recruitment and Issues for 2023″ said Fani-Kayode’s capacity to build and sustain relationships was short, not just politically, but in every aspect of his life.

“Late on Thursday, Sept. 16, 2021, reports emerged that Fani-Kayode had joined the APC and was received by President Muhammadu Buhari at the Presidential Villa.

“With the emergence of the report, public attention in the country has been dominated by negative commentaries,” the PGF DG said.

He noted that the development had resulted in negative commentaries, mostly from APC members who wondered why Fani-Kayode should be accorded such a high profile reception by the party leadership.

He recalled that one of the first persons to express disappointment was Sen. Babafemi Ojudu, Special Adviser to President Buhari on Political Matters.

Ojudu, he said, had lamented that the reception given to Fani-Kayode made the day the saddest of his political career.

“The protest against Fani-Kayode joining the APC has to do with his venomous nature, he abuses, insults, and disparages everybody, almost indiscriminately.

“Almost every member of APC is angry that our leaders have brought someone like Fani-Kayode into our party. This is made worse by the red carpet reception given to him, which he doesn’t deserve.

“But since it has happened, there is no need to cry over spilled milk. What is very clear is that our leaders, especially President Buhari have forgiven Fani-Kayode and embrace him as one of us,” he said.

Lukman explained that as members of APC, the anger with Fani-Kayode was that he had abused the party, Buhari and virtually every leader of the party.

He, however, advised that with all the negative things Fani-Kayode had said about the APC and its leaders in the past, if its leaders could accept him into the party, its members “should not be more Catholic than the Pope“.

“Members of the APC should show understanding,” Lukman said.

He noted that since 2015 many opportunistic political leaders like Fani-Kayode joined the APC, got all the welcome reception, but ended up betraying the party.

He said such political leaders in some instances undermined the APC and its leaders.

Lukman said part of the frustration of many APC members was that most times, it could be predicted that the party’s leaders were wrongly investing trust and confidence on the wrong people.

“Contrastingly, those who are consistent and loyal to our party and our leaders hardly gained the deserved respect they should have.

“This may not necessarily be intended, but it is there. Be that as it may, members need to move forward with every confidence and commitment to engage our leaders,” he said.

He added that since the party’s leaders had developed the large heart needed to forgive Fani-Kayode, members should respect the decision.

“To that extent, therefore, party members should respect the decision of our leaders to admit Fani-Kayode and welcome him with a red carpet reception.

“On no account should we be distracted. If Fani-Kayode needs a red carpet reception to be a member of APC, millions of party member have demonstrated that they don’t need any form of recognition to work for Nigeria.

“Being very consistent and stable members of the APC, we should also recognise that the party is partly what it is today on account of our little contributions over the years,” he said.

He stressed that if the APC was to succeed in changing Nigeria, the party’s leaders and its members must commit themselves to developing strong and functional relationship.

He said the ability to develop strong and functional relationship between APC leaders and members was the foundational requirement for APC leaders to be able to develop strong and functional relationship with Nigerians.

Lukman said this would, however, require that APC members were able to respectfully tell leaders the truth, stressing that functional relationship with Nigerians was always crucial for winning elections.

Umahi distances self from Fani-Kayode, says ex-minister’s claims of facilitating his defection to APC false, insulting

Sequel to his claims that he facilitated the defection of Governors Dave Umahi (Ebonyi), Bello Matawalle (Zamfara) and Ben Ayade (Cross River) from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to the ruling party, former minister, Femi Fani-Kayode appears to have beaten more than he can chew.

“I think he needs to withdraw that statement, he’s my good friend but, it was an insult on my person and the other governors,” Governor Umahi said on a monitored Channels Television programme on Thursday.

“The man did not know when I moved, but incidentally he visited me and we discussed, and he said he was coming to join me with the other governors to declare.

“How will somebody in the PDP be instrumental to my moving?,” Umahi asked.

“A whole Governor of the state and then, not even a small governor, an experienced Governor.

“So, he has to withdraw the statement, he was never part of any discussion of my movement”.

TheNewsGuru.com, TNG reports that Governor Umahi defected to the APC in November 2020.

The governor explained that one of the reasons was to move the southeast to the center of administration.

“I moved to close the gap between the center and the southeast, which our forefathers fought for, like Nnamdi Azikwe.

“So, for somebody to come and say that a whole chairman of the southeast governor’s forum, he was instrumental to that, it’s a bitter insult to my person and with all due respect, he has to withdraw the statement.

“He remains my friend and a good one for that matter, but he played no role in my movement and I’m sure he didn’t play no role in the movement of the rest of us,” Governor Umahi stressed.

The comments come on the same day that Fani-Kayode officially defected from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to the APC.

The former PDP chieftain was introduced to President Muhammadu Buhari as the newest member of the ruling party during a visit to the Presidential Villa in Abuja.

He was led to the meeting with the President by the APC National Caretaker Committee Chairman and Yobe State Governor, Mai Mala Buni, as well as Governor Bello Matawalle of Zamfara State.

Defection: What Fani-Kayode told Buhari after joining APC

Former Minister of Aviation, Mr Femi Fani-Kayode has told President Muhammadu Buhari that he joined the All Progressives Congress (APC) in order to work with him in moving Nigeria forward.

TheNewsGuru.com (TNG) reports Fani-Kayode on Thursday dumped the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) and joined the APC, a party he said over his dead body he would join.

Fani-Kayode, while addressing State House correspondents, said he believed that it was time for him to cross over to join hands with the President in moving Nigeria forward.

“The point is that I felt it was time to do the right thing, to put Nigeria first and appreciate the efforts that have been made, particularly in the last couple of years in terms of security; fighting insurgency and terrorism.

“It is not always negative and when the time is right, we change direction to join forces and join hands to move the country forward.

“Doing this doesn’t mean we are enemies to anybody. Even if we are in another party, the PDP or any other party or group, we can still work together across party, regional, ethnic or religious lines,” Fani-Kayode said.

He added that Nigerians must remain united to salvage the country from those bent on destroying the progress of the nation.

Kayode advised Nigerians not to allow any person or group to divide them or make the country disintegrate.

“Most importantly is the appreciation of the fact that we must remain one as a nation, and build bridges, work together to move the country forward.

“The most important thing is for us to understand the fact that Nigeria must not disintegrate and those that want us to end up fighting one another in a war, will be put to shame.

“There are people that think like that and that is what informed me to come here and meet the President.

“He was very gracious and it is an honour to me, and we will move the country forward together,’’ he added.

TNG reports Fani-Kayode was led into the President’s office by the Caretaker Chairman of the APC and Governor of Yobe, Mr Mai-Mala Buni as well as Gov. Bello Matawalle of Zamfara.

Meanwhile, President Buhari has formally welcomed the former Minister to the APC.

Speaking to State House correspondents after Kayode’s presentation, Buni quoted the President as describing the defection of Kayode to APC as a welcome development, saying that the president was pleased that the former minister had joined the APC.

He said: “We are here to present our newest member of the party, Chief Femi Fani- Kayode to the President and leader of the party.

“He is the newest member of APC and we just received him in appreciation and understanding of the President’s vision and magnanimity.

“The President received him very well. The President is a leader who shares his vision and looks toward greater Nigeria, so he received him very well and commended his courage.”

Fani-Kayode confesses: How I facilitated defection of Ayade, Umahi, Matawalle; lists three more PDP govs joining APC soon

Former Minister of Aviation, Mr Femi Fani-Kayode, has officially defected from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to the All Progressives Congress (APC).

The former PDP chieftain was introduced to President Muhammadu Buhari as the newest member of the ruling party on Thursday during a visit to the Presidential Villa in Abuja.

He was led to the meeting with the President by the APC National Caretaker Committee Chairman and Yobe State Governor, Mai Mala Buni, as well as Governor Bello Matawalle of Zamfara State.

The Secretary to the Government of Federation (SGF), Mr Boss Mustapha, was also present at the meeting to introduce Fani-Kayode.

Shortly after meeting with President Buhari, the new APC member had a session with State House correspondents where he claimed responsibility for the defection of three PDP governors who joined the ruling party – Governor Matawalle (Zamfara), as well as Governor David Umahi (Ebonyi) and Governor Ben Ayade (Cross River).

Fani-Kayode, a former spokesman for the PDP Presidential Campaign Council, said he was instrumental in the events that led to the defection of the three governors.

He told State House correspondents that he had been a founding member of the APC and simply returned to the ruling party for the unity of the country.

The former minister revealed that he was equally wooing three more governors in the main opposition party to join the ruling party.

He listed them to include Governor Seyi Makinde of Oyo State, Governor Bala Mohammed of Bauchi State, and Governor Ifeanyi Uguanyi of Enugu State.

He said whatever opinion anyone may have about his credibility, as a result of his constant change of parties, was up to them.

Fani-Kayode, a lawyer, used to be a strong critic of the Muhammadu Buhari administration.

He was the Special Assistant on Public Affairs to former President Olusegun Obasanjo between 2003 and 2006.

Also in 2006, the new APC member served as the Minister of Culture and Tourism for a few months before he was later appointed as the Minister of Aviation later that year.
