4 smart ways to stay fit regardless of busy schedule

Staying fit is not such a chore. Fitness doesn’t just mean being physically fit, it also translates to your mental wellbeing –everything!

You already know that even if you are physically fit but troubled deep inside, then you can’t really function optimally. Therefore, fitness is all-encompassing.

But you are in luck! The bubble is busted already! Here: Just exercise regularly and eat right and you are sure to be fit.

Importantly, being fit also ensures that you don’t spend as much money on healthcare as the average unfit person.

Too busy? No worries. With a few modifications to your daily routines you can be healthy, stay fit and lead a successful life without much effort. Just promise that you would start off immediately you are done reading this post.

Take a look at some ways you can stay fit even if you are too busy:

    1. Drink More Water: It’s very easy to go through the day forgetting to take water and relying on cups of coffee or your favourite soft drinks. While it is good to do the flavoured drinks you enjoy, nothing beats staying hydrated the water way. Drinking water throughout the day keeps you energised and can help suppress feelings of hunger. It helps to have a water bottle that you could carry around, or if it’s preferable, always have bottled water handy.
    1. Bring back to-do list: Ditched your to-do list already? Sorry but you have to find it wherever you tossed it and dust it all up. If you often find yourself overwhelmed by your work and by implication are always missing your gym and workout appointments, for instance, you’ll need to draw up a ‘To-Do List’ to make way for discipline.
    2. Keep snacks by your side: Snacks? Yes, snacks! But healthy ones, please. Though you might have had your breakfast, it’s not out of the ordinary for you to get hungry every now and then as you grind through the day. But keeping healthy snacks by your side will help all the time. Only avoid buying snacks that are unhealthy for you. Best recommendations would be fruits and nuts.
    3. Don’t sit all day: Now, you have heard this for the umpteenth time. Sedentary lifestyle is a no no for you no matter how busy, you profess. Identify times of the day when you can get up, move around and get active even if it’s for just a few minutes at a time. Sitting for extended periods can lead to serious health challenges like slower metabolism, weakened muscles and lower back pains.

    The bottomline

The best thing about being fit is that it’s not just beneficial to you alone. It also means your family, friends and co-workers will always have the best of you as it will generally make you more productive, happy and likeable.

Now tell us in the comments how you enjoyed this post. What tip is your favourite of them all?

Kate Henshaw’s energy has never flagged over the decades of her career. The Nollywood star has charmed audiences for generations now, and many of her fans have been impressed by the fact that she is seemingly ageless and amiable.

Henshaw who was born on the 19th of July 1971 recently celebrated her 50th birthday with glowing tributes flowing endlessly on social media by her fans, colleagues and friends.

    Embodiment of discipline

Veteran actor, Richard Mofe Damijo who recently celebrated his 60th birthday said the classic Henshaw is an embodiment of discipline.

“My personal person. Even now I hear your laughter. Deep from within. You who make 50 so sexy. It feels like the new 21.You are an embodiment of discipline.
Always on the money. God bless and prosper you .In all areas of your life
    Love you Katie”.

Kate, queen of the dance floor

While makeup can certainly help someone look younger, Henshaw’s real secret to the fountain of youth is her attitude towards aging and commitment to keeping fit.

In an interview, the gorgeous role interpreter who kicked off her acting career in 1993 after clinching the lead role for the movie, ‘When the sun sets’ said: “Music is the food of love and it is for the soul. If they are playing good music anywhere and you refuse to dance, then you are evil. I mean when everyone around you is on their feet, sweating it out on the dance floor and you remain on your seat, are you the devil? Music is from the heart and since I choose to be happy, anywhere they play good music, I start to dance. That is the secret of my happiness and that is what makes me look young. I am happy all the time”

    Fitness enthusiast

Shedding light on how she became a fitness enthusiast, Henshaw said in a 2017 interview with Punch :“I began to really do exercises about seven years ago and the benefits are just numerous. I can see the changes in my body and my health is great. I have not been to the hospital in five years. Before I began to exercise, I used to have malaria, fever or typhoid almost every month but I have not been to the hospital for anything and I know it is because of the exercise and the fact that I decided to choose a healthy lifestyle. The more you exercise your body, the stronger you get. I keep pushing my limits at the gym because that is what I am supposed to do. Athletes and people who cherish their health never stop training, they keep going”.

    Beacon of hope

Henshaw didn’t just become phenomenal in an industry which was mostly dominated by men back then, but she also did so by helping other young actors light their path.

Some of Nollywood’s biggest stars claim Kate Henshaw as an influence.

Ufuoma Mcdermott said : “You have all seen and heard about the disciplined and strong part of Kate. I wish you could all experience her compassion and heart.

One of the lowest periods of my life was when I was physically and verbally assaulted by Ikuforiji’s personal policemen on Oct 10 2010.

Only two people stood with me through all the media and actual back and forth, Court filings and physical appearances. Stella Damascus and @k8henshaw. You see with big sis Catherine, it wasn’t just about being there, it was about giving me strength when she saw mine dwindling. The day she said “stop making yourself believe it was your fault” was the day I learnt that in dark days leading to lowness in spirit and borderline depression, you ask yourself many questions and when you can’t find the answers, you turn on yourself. Kate stopped it. I just stood there crying ( We were beside the old Ebeano supermarket close to Ebar) It was ok to cry because she was my strength. She calls to find out the next step and she’s with me during that step. She stayed right in the mix until Bimbo Akintola called Gov Fashola to reach out to me”.

  • 2019: CUPP doubts Buhari’s fitness, asks him to take over campaign from Tinubu

The Coalition of United Political Parties (CUPP) has asked President Muhammadu Buhari not to outsource his campaign to the All Progressives Congress chieftain, Bola Tinubu, if he is fit for the nation’s top job.

The CUPP also accused the APC of plotting to rig the 2019 elections and plunge the nation into avoidable crisis.

Addressing journalists at a news conference in Abuja on Friday, CUPP chairman, Olagunsoye Oyinlola, said Buhari would go down in history as the first President to hire a proxy in a presidential contest.

The CUPP, which consisted of over 46 political parties, said Buhari must debate against its presidential candidate and account for his stewardship to Nigerians.

Oyinlola said, “President Buhari has, indeed, said Senator Bola Tinubu would do the campaigns on his behalf. We hope he was misquoted. Otherwise, Nigerians should simply ask him to step back from the contest and let his party put Tinubu forward as its candidate.

Buhari would go down as the first candidate in history to hire a proxy in a presidential contest. He is the one contesting, he should not be afraid to be the one to interface directly with Nigerians.”

Oyinlola added, “We urge Nigerians to insist that President Buhari must show that he is fit and able for the nation’s top job by leading his own campaign and by being at the presidential candidates’ debate.”

The CUPP chairman stated that the refusal of the President to sign the Electoral Act Amendment bill into law was part of plans to manipulate the polls.

He pointed out that the amendments were made in order to have better legal frameworks for delivery of free and fair elections, in accordance with Article 6 of the ECOWAS Protocol which states that “The preparation and conduct of elections and the announcement of results shall be done in a transparent manner.”

Quoting Article 2(1) of the ECOWAS Protocol, the former military administrator argued that the the amendments to electoral laws could be done “but such amendments must be with the consent of a majority of political actors.

We, therefore, see the President’s decision not to sign the bill as a direct, open threat to the integrity of the elections and it is not funny.

We call on him, therefore, to have a rethink and sign the bill into law without any further delay.”

  • “Fit girls look good naked”-Keira Hewatch

Nigerian actress and fitness advocate , Keira Hewatch took to her Instagram page this morning to motivate women on the need to embrace fitness and lifting of weights. According to her, she got a fairly proportionate bum from squatting and lifting weights.

Hear her:”Work For It, Or Complain About It.

Your Choice. ??? Ps: just so you know, skinny girls look good in clothes,Fit Girls look good naked. This is for the benefit of all those who think lifting weights is bad for a woman, I lost my flabby Christian mother arms, the soft rolls on my sides and back after I initially started losing a lot of weight three years ago; BECAUSE I started lifting weights!

People see me now and find it hard to believe I lost all the weight I did because I DONT LOOK IT.Lift weights ladies, it’s what contours your body and gives you definition.

I built a fairly proportionate booty from squatting with heavy weights. The people who have known me for a really long time know that I never used to have a booty. Wide hips, yes. No booty. But I grew one slowly and painstakingly, still working on it too. I may never get a Kim Kardashian behind but at least I’m proud of the body I see in the mirror today because it shows all the pain, blood, sweat and tears PAID OFF!”

Though some of are fans have condemned her for posting such a provocative picture, Keira is however unperturbed.
