However, the ‘Hips Don’t Lie’ crooner disclosed that she is a huge fan of African music during a recent interview with Rolling stone.

Shakira described her music taste as eclectic, honest and real.

She said, “If I could explain my taste in music in three words, I would say eclectic, honest and real.

“I love anything Afrobeats. I like Tyla, I like Burna Boy, anything Afrobeats. But I love Burna so much.”

Shakira sampled an African song ‘Zangaléwa’, by Cameroonian band Golden Sounds, for her 2010 South Africa World Cup official song, ‘Waka, Waka (This Time For Africa).’

Shakira breaks YouTube records with song about Gerard Pique cheating on her

Colombian singer and songwriter, Shakira Isabel Mebarak Ripoll, professionally known by the mononym Shakira, has broken YouTube records with a song she sang about her ex-partner, Gerard Pique, cheating on her.

The video for Out of Your League has been watched more than 63 million times in 24 hours, making it the most-watched Latin song in that time period.

Shakira, 45, separated from former Barcelona footballer Pique, 35, in 2022 after more than 10 years together.

TheNewsGuru.com (TNG) reports that the pair have two children together.

This four-minute pop song is the first time Shakira and Argentinian producer and DJ Bizarrap have worked together.

Shakira joined a hallowed list of Latin performers to break YouTube records – including J Balvin, Luis Fonsi and Daddy Yankee.

It’s not her first song about the breakup – Monotonia came out three months ago, but was more of a heartbreak song than one vying for revenge.

In the diss track, Shakira sings about Pique’s new alleged 23-year-old partner.

She says she is “worth two 22-year-olds” and compares the relationship to swapping “a Ferrari for a [Renault] Twingo” and a “Rolex for a Casio” in Spanish.

The Colombian singer also referenced her run-in with the Spanish authorities, who claim she has failed to pay €14.5m (£12.8m) in income tax.

Shakira appears to say in the song that Pique left her whilst all this was going on, with her in-laws as neighbours.

She criticises his workout technique too – singing “lots of time at the gym, but your brain needs a little work too”.

Gerard Pique has not responded to the song online, but has been posting about his new seven-a-side project, King’s League.

The pair released a statement when they split in June last year, saying they were focusing on co-parenting their children Milan, nine, and Sasha, aged seven.

  • Brazilian Playboy model, Suzy Cortez accuses Pique of infidelity

Barely two days after the Barcelona defender, Gerard Pique and Colombian pop star, Shakira, split, a Brazilian Playboy model, Suzy Cortez, has accused the footballer of infidelity.

TheNewsGuru.com (TNG) recalls that Pique and Shakira’s breakup was confirmed in a terse statement on Saturday.

The pair, whose relationship began in 2010, have two sons together, Milan and Sasha.

The Blaugrana centre-back’s reputation has taken a massive hit after recent allegations of infidelity, and a recent report published by Marca isn’t certainly helping his case at the moment.

According to the Spanish publication, Gerard Pique had allegedly sent explicit text messages to the Brazilian influencer (Suzy Cortez).

The 35-year-old defender was also reported to have been in direct contact with the Instagram model for a considerable period of time.

Speaking to New York-based publication El Diario NY, she revealed that she met the Spanish centre-back through former Barcelona president Sandro Rosell, revealing that he constantly kept inquiring about when she would be in Europe while quizzing her on the size of her back-side.

“I was a friend of the former president of Barcelona, Sandro Rosell. When Pique found out, he asked me for my number and sent me a message.

“When I returned to Brazil, he sent me a message directly on Instagram – which he deleted every day – asking me when would I return to Europe and always asking me how big my butt was.” she said.

Suzy Cortez opens up on Pique and other Barcelona stars
Cortez also took time to expose in her tell-all interview, the Blaugrana players and how they were no different from Pique with the exception of former stars Lionel Messi and Philippe Coutinho.

“I have never said this out of respect for Shakira, but now I am going to tell you everything I know and it happened to me.”

According to her quotes, Messi and Coutinho were the only members of the squad at the time who had refrained from reaching out to her via illicit text messages.

    Brazilian

“Pique was the one who sent me the most direct message. The only Barcelona players who never sent me anything were Messi and Coutinho. They are great husbands and respect their wives a lot.”

The Brazilian model has been a vocal fan of Lionel Messi in the past and has paid tribute to the Argentine legend on a number of occasions via her social media.

Suzy Cortez also shared her sympathy for the Colombian songstress Shakira – whom Pique had been dating for over a decade, while claiming that recent reports of the Catalan defender’s infidelity had convinced her to bring her story to light.

It would be recalled that Suzy Cortez, the first ever two-time Miss BumBum winner, had revealed she has a pretty lucrative time selling nudes on adult app OnlyFans – from which she rakes in a whopping £192,000. A month.

Cortez, 29, beat women from across the globe to be crowned Miss BumBum for a second time last October, having already scooped the, er, prestigious accolade back in 2015.

The annual beauty pageant does exactly what its name might suggest, pitting women against each other to see who has the best-looking rear end.

And it’s what helped launch Cortez’ career, which is now flourishing.

  • Barcelona defender Pique, singer Shakira break-up after 12 years

Spain and Barcelona defender, Gerard Pique and Colombian pop star, Shakira have split.

The seperation was confirmed through a statement signed and released by Shakira communication agency.

Recall that Pique and Shakira met at the 2010 Worldcup held in South Africa and the relationship has produced two sons, Milan and Sasha.

During a podcast appearance in February, Shakira said that she and her “poor husband, slash boyfriend, slash baby daddy” sometimes disagree about timeliness because of their different upbringings.

A brief statement, released by Shakira’s communication agency, confirmed: “We regret to confirm that we are parting ways.

“For the well-being of our children, who are our highest priority, we ask that you respect their privacy. Thank you for your understanding.”

The seperation is connected with the allegation that the football star was caught in bed with another woman.

It is believed the couple have been living separately for a few weeks after the footballer was kicked out of their family home.

According to Spanish outlet El Periodico, he has been staying in a bachelor pad and has been living a “party lifestyle” since the split.

  • EL Clasico: Shakira rates Pique as world’s best defender

EL Clasico: Shakira rates Pique as world’s best defender

Popular Colombian pop singer, Shakira has rated her husband and FC Barcelona player, Gerard Pique as the best defender in the world.

TheNewsGuru.com (TNG) reports Shakira released the rating after Pique led Barcelona to beat Real Madrid 4-0 in an El Clasico encounter on Sunday.

“Gerard won’t let me say these things publicly. But only he with his heroism can play like this, overcoming any injury or pain and always giving his best.

“It’s not because he’s my husband, but he’s the best center back in the world,” a tweet made by Shakira in Spanish translates.

TNG reports FC Barcelona humiliated Real Madrid on Sunday, with Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang scoring two goals, assisting one and thereafter, spiting his former club, Arsenal.

Aubameyang gave Barca the lead on 29 minutes as he headed Ousmane Dembele’s cross from the right past Thibaut Courtois.

In the 38th minute Ronald Araujo put Barca 2-0 up with a powerful header as well from a Dembele corner.

Just two minutes into the second half Ferran Torres made it 3-0 with an emphatic finish after Aubameyang teed him up with a clever back heel.

In 51 minutes Aubameyang got his second and Barca’s fourth thanks to a lovely chipped effort with his left off Torres’ assist.

The goal was initially flagged for offside but after consultation with VAR, it was awarded.

The win saw Barca move up to third on 54 points and 12 points behind leaders Madrid on the Spanish La Liga table.

Prior to Sunday’s game Madrid had won the last five meetings between them and Barca.

The last time Barca tasted victory against Madrid was 2nd March 2019, a 1-0 win at the Bernabeu.

  • Barca: Sacking Valverde made no sense – Pique

Barca: Sacking Valverde made no sense – Pique

Barcelona defender Gerard Pique has declared he was against the sacking of coach Ernesto Valverde.

Valverde was axed halfway through last season with Barca top of the table and replaced by Quique Setien.

Pique told La Vanguardia: “It did not seem coherent to me to kick the coach out in the middle of the season leading and having won the two previous leagues.”

The defender also regrets that symbols of Barcelona are not currently part of the club.

“I am surprised that people like Guardiola, Xavi, Puyol or Valdés are not in the club. You have to keep them always, they are part of Barça’s history,” he said.

  • June 12 too early for La Liga return – Pique

June 12 too early for La Liga return – Pique

Barcelona defender Gerard Pique has said he would like to see La Liga’s return pushed further back than June 12, the date the league’s president Javier Tebas suggested on Sunday.

Defending champions Barca were two points clear of bitter rivals Real Madrid through 27 matches when the season was postponed due to the coronavirus pandemic in March.

With teams beginning to return to individualized training this month, Tebas is targeting next month for a return to the pitch.

“I would like it [the season resuming] to be June 12, but it will depend on the numbers,” Tebas told Movistar on Sunday.

“In the end it will be up to the health authorities. They explain what can be done. We do not rush, we are not the ones who decide the phases.”

Pique, though, said he would prefer to finish the campaign later than the date suggested by Tebas.

“I understand La Liga’s interest in finishing the season because there’s a lot at stake. Despite being leaders, it would be quite ugly to win [the league] that way,” Pique told Movistar.

“I have heard Javier talk about playing again on the 12th …. We’ve spent a lot of time out of action and we have to keep in mind we need to be well prepared to avoid the risk of injuries. If I can contribute my opinion, a few more days wouldn’t hurt us.

“They’ve kept us very well informed, Javier Tebas has dedicated many hours to it. There are people who are scared and it’s important that everyone follows the protocol to the finest detail. It’s better training as a group but we have to adapt.”

  • Gerard Pique fined for driving with suspended license

Gerard Pique fined for driving with suspended license

A Spanish court on Monday slapped Barcelona centre-back Gerard Pique with a fine of 48,000 euros ($54,000) for driving without a valid licence.

The Barcelona defender appeared before a judge on Monday and was ordered to pay the fine for the incident that happened in August.

Pique’s license was not valid when he was stopped by police during a random check in Barcelona. It had been suspended because of an excessive number of traffic infractions.

The sentencing specifies that Pique has to pay 200 euros ($227) daily for eight months.

  • Pique admits Barca have defence problems after Betis shock

Pique admits Barca have defence problems after Betis shock

FC Barcelona defender Gerard Pique admitted his side have a problem with their porous defence after the La Liga leaders were beaten 4-3 at home by Real Betis on Sunday.

The Spanish side conceded four times at the Nou Camp for the first time in over 15 years.

Pique, while conceding that all their defenders all needed to improve, was also adamant that the champions’ fans should not be worried about the current frailties of the team’s rearguard.

Barca trailed 2-0 at halftime and even though Lionel Messi struck twice on his return from injury and Arturo Vidal also scored for the Catalans, Betis still made history.

They became the first side to beat Barca at the Nou Camp since Alaves in September 2016.

“We know we have a problem and that we are conceding a lot of goals, more than we have conceded for a very long time,” the Spanish international told reporters.

“We will almost never be the team that concedes the fewest goals because of our attacking philosophy, but we know we have to improve.”

In spite of Sunday’s defeat, Barca still lead the standings and are one point clear of Atletico Madrid, Alaves and Sevilla.

However, they have by far the worst defensive record of the top seven teams in the league.

Barca have let in 18 goals in 12 league games, more than 13 teams in La Liga.

“It’s not an individual thing, it’s a group problem. We have to focus on it and work together,” Pique said.

“It’s basic stuff which we know and we have talked about. On Sunday, we faced a very attacking team and we had to take risks.

“I think that, defensively, we all need to improve. Sometimes, we go to press and we don’t all go and that leaves a lot of gaps between the lines and teams create a lot of counter-attacks against us.

“On Sunday, for example, we should have stopped their first goal by committing a foul.”

Barca have dropped points in five of their 12 games this season, four times against sides in the bottom half of the standings.

But Pique said fans should not be concerned by the team’s form.

“It’s true that we are finding it harder to beat teams who, in theory, are smaller than us. But I think it’s something sporadic and won’t happen throughout the season,” he said.

“Our fans can relax, we are top of the league. This year, the level of our opponents has risen, you can no longer win the league with 100 points.

“Teams have bigger budgets, better players and they are more competitive and that’s better for spectators.”

  • Barcelona’s Pique confirms retirement from international football

Barcelona’s Pique confirms retirement from international football

Barcelona’s Spain defender Gerard Pique has confirmed his retirement from international football.

The 31-year-old centre-back made 102 appearances for his country between 2009 and 2018, scoring five times.

He was part of the Spain team that won their first World Cup in 2010, before adding the 2012 European Championship.

His appearances were often greeted with jeers and whistles by Spanish fans, partly because of his support for Catalonia’s independence referendum.

Catalonia, a region of 7.5 million people in north-eastern Spain, has its own language and culture and Barcelona is its capital.

Pique had declared his intention to quit international football after the 2018 World Cup following a qualifier against Albania in October 2016, when he said he was tired of criticism and wanted “to be left in peace”.

He remains a divisive figure within Spain, and has often been critical of Barca’s club rivals Real Madrid.

Pique did not immediately confirm his retirement following Spain’s exit from the World Cup, when they lost on penalties to hosts Russia in the last 16.

His expected decision comes despite former Barca boss Luis Enrique having since been appointed Spain’s manager.

“I spoke to Luis Enrique a few days ago. He called me and I told him the decision was taken a long time ago and that I had thought about it carefully,” Pique said on Saturday.

“It was a beautiful time with the national team in which I had the chance to win the World Cup and the European Championship. Now I want to focus on Barca,” he added.

“I have a few years left here and I’m going to enjoy them a lot.”

Barca, who won the Spanish double last season, play Sevilla in the Spanish Super Cup in Tangier, Morocco, on Sunday at 21:00 BST.
