    Two declared wanted over brutal attack on Rivers LGA Administrator

    The suspects, identified as Hector Ekakita, Chief Security Officer (CSO), and Aloni Olodi, Chief of Staff (COS) have been declared wanted by the Rivers State Police Command over their alleged roles in a violent attack on Goodluck Iheanachor, the Sole Administrator of Ahoada-East Local Government Area.

    TheNewsGuru reports that the duo was accused of both of criminal conspiracy, stealing, assault occasioning harm, and attempted murder.

    According to the Command’s Spokesperson, Grace Iringe-Koko, the attack occurred on June 20, 2025, at the Council Secretariat in Ahoada East, where Iheanachor was assaulted by a gang of about thirty persons.

    She noted that during the attack, the administrator sustained injuries, and his mobile phones and vital documents were stolen.

    The suspects allegedly forced him to sign a resignation letter under duress and carted away personal and official properties from his office.

    Despite being invited to report to the Police State Headquarters for questioning, the suspects failed to honor the directive.

    Consequently, Commissioner of Police, Rivers State, CP Olugbenga Adepoju, has declared them wanted.

    The police commissioner warned that anyone found in aiding, hiding, or assisting the wanted individuals would face the full weight of the law.

    The CP, however, urged Individuals with credible information on the whereabouts of the suspects are urged to contact the Police State Headquarters, Moscow Road, Port Harcourt, or call the Command Control Room and Complaint Response Unit.

    Police condemn attack on Rivers LG Administrator

    The Police Command in Rivers has strongly condemned the violent attack on the Sole Administrator of Ahoada East Local Government Area (LGA), Goodluck Iheanachor.

    A widely circulated video shows the perpetrators allegedly coercing Iheanachor into resigning from his position, which occurred at the council secretariate on Friday.

    The Command’s spokesperson, SP Grace Iringe-Koko, told journalists in Port Harcourt on Sunday, that a full investigation into the incident had been initiated.

    According to her, preliminary finding revealed that about 30 assailants stormed the council secretariate and assaulted Iheanachor.

    She alleged that the attack was led by the administrator’s Chief of Staff, Mr Hector Ekakita, along with his Chief Security Officer.

    “During the incident, the assailants physically assaulted Iheanachor, stole his mobile phones, and compelled him to sign a document purporting his resignation from office.

    “They also made away with vital items, including both official and personal documents from his office,” Iringe-Koko stated.

    She further noted that the administrator was receiving treatment for his injuries and was currently in a stable condition.

    She said the Commissioner of Police in Rivers, Olugbenga Adepoju, has summoned Ekakita and other individuals implicated in the attack to report to the Police Headquarters for questioning.

    Iringe-Koko warned that failure to honour the police invitation would result in severe consequences for the suspects.
