  • How I tried to kill myself during 40-day fasting and prayer – Gospel Singer Chidima Ekile

How I tried to kill myself during 40-day fasting and prayer – Gospel Singer Chidima Ekile

Gospel singer, Chidinma Ekile, has recounted how the devil attempted to take her life during her 40-day prayer and fasting on a mountain.

TheNewsGuru reports that the singer revealed that she went through a long period of prayer and fasting on a mountain. According to her, she spent 40 days in the wilderness, seeking direction from God, and encountered both divine presence and a disturbing moment that tested her faith.

Ekile said she was seeking divine direction and guidance from God during her private moment with God in the bush.

After returning from the U.S., Ekile said she was led to embark on this spiritual journey, where she faced intense spiritual battles and temptations from the enemy.

She added that God performed a spiritual surgery on her, transforming her perspective on life and material possessions.

Through this experience, Chidinma said she gained a deeper understanding of God’s love and mercy, feeling an overwhelming sense of peace and fulfilment that she had never known before.

She explained, “I went to the mountain. I’m not Jesus, but I fasted and prayed for over forty days. I lost weight. The experience was something I never imagined. I came from America and went straight to the bush. I slept on one side till I finished. I cried, I sang, I prayed, and God came to me and spoke to me. It was so real. I never knew He loved me this much.

“I’ve seen it all, and material things don’t move me anymore. God is looking for those who are not perfect or strong people.

“While I was on the mountain, the enemy tried everything to take me before my time. It was more like I was in a theatre. God performed surgery on me, took some things and put in some. He broke me into shreds.

“The enemy tried to take me out of there before my surgery was done. The devil took me to the top of the mountain, to the cliff at night, where everything was dark. And right there at the cliff, the devil asked me to jump. The voice was so strong. The enemy has seen what the Lord is about to do, and he said he needs to abort the mission now.

“I was about to take the jump, and I noticed I was being barricaded, and I couldn’t jump. Something was just there, and I was crying, and somehow my spiritual mum came to get me out. I could have lost my life, but God had mercy.

“He showered me with so much love, the way I have never known it. I feel so much peace inside of me, peace that I never had and cannot buy with money. I was doing all I had to do, but I wasn’t fulfilled. I needed to move, but I didn’t know how. But Jesus is King”.

In an Instagram post on Sunday, March 30th, the singer recounted how his mother’s wise counsel prevented him from signing a lucrative $320,000 deal with a group that sought full ownership of his music catalogue.

The 35-year-old noted that contract, worth approximately N492 million, would have compromised his artistic control and potentially altered the trajectory of his career.

Celebrating his mother, he wrote: “The very first time in my life years ago I was to close $320,000 deal from a group that wanted to almost own my entire catalogue. You said NO! And I quote you, ‘The 150,000 naira I gave you to start that studio is bigger than that money, just give it time. They are not of God.’ In fact, you took my international passport away from me just to ensure I don’t travel to close that deal, and I was laughing because I didn’t need to travel to close it but then I listened to you. After you said that, I was thinking, ‘How is 150,000 Naira bigger than $320,000?’”

“I do not have any regrets. I do not regret my actions because life is reciprocal. I caught her cheating on me. I told her about it but she denied it until I showed her the chat.

“She admitted and apologised. So, she went to the bathroom, she started some things and I couldn’t take it lightly. I went to the room, took a knife, I held her neck and I did what I had to do.

“I was not caught, I surrendered myself. If I did not want anybody to catch me, I would have done that; it is very simple. It is not a big thing to pay, I’m ready to face the wrath of the law.”

Ojomachenwu Adaidu, the mother of Salome Adaidu, the lady who was beheaded by gospel singer, Oluwatimileyin Ajayi has recounted her last moment with her daughter before the unfortunate incident.

TheNewsGuru earlier reported that the suspect Timileyin Ajayi, who prides himself as multi-talented gospel singer, was apprehended with a black nylon, containing the deceased’s head on Sunday, Jan. 12, near a church in Orozo, a border area between Nasarawa State and the Federal Capital Territory (FCT).

The 24-year-old National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) member who was serving with Nicon Insurance in Abuja was said to have visited Ajayi on Saturday at his residence in Papalana, New Karshi in Karu Local Government Area of Nasarawa State shortly after speaking with her mother.

Speaking recently with BBC Pidgin, mother of the deceased said: “I called her on Saturday and asked where she was. She told me she was washing clothes. I then asked if she was washing the clothes alone. She said yes and added that the firstborn child was in the living room cleaning it.

“Maybe on her way to the place, she entered a ‘one-chance’ (a kind of scam often involving public transport), or someone used medicine (voodoo) on her because she doesn’t have friends like that. I want justice for my child,” she said.
