Wike had faulted the emergence of Atiku as the presidential flag bearer, Iyorchia Ayu, Chairman of the party, and Sen. Walid Jibrin, chairman of the Board of Trustees, BoT, all from the northern part of the country.

Wike accused the party of violating the principles of equity, fairness and balance, noting that the laws guiding the party has been trampled upon.

Muhammed described the meeting as fruitful but said that the details will be presented before the MWC  for further deliberations.

“The talks were fruitful, open discussions with sincerity and we are home and dry. We discuss issues that border on the situation within the party and internal matter is not something you should look for details.

“We have discussed with the presidential candidate and we are here with our brother and friend and issues that border on what is happening have been sorted out.

“The issues have been resolved as far as I am concerned because we have heard from both sides. And we are going to meet with the National Working Committee to take a decision,” the Kaduna PDP governorship candidate said.

The PDP is trying to settle its internal rift before the September 28th start date for presidential election campaign  in the country.

2023: Wike’s political career will end if he dumps PDP – Primate Ayodele

The leader of INRI Evangelical Spiritual Church, Primate Elijah Ayodele has warned Rivers state governor Nyesome Wike not to dump the opposition Peoples Democratic Party for the ruling All Progressive Congress (APC), saying that the move could end his political career.

The cleric also said that the Igbos should take advantage of 2023 and produce a Nigerian president of South-East extraction.

Primate Ayodele warned that the future generations of the Igbos would suffer if they fail to produce Nigeria’s President in 2023.

However, Ayodele insists that Labour Party’s presidential candidate, Peter Obi can’t win the 2023 elections.

The Lagos-based cleric, made this statement in his church on Sunday, he said 2022 is not the turn of the Yoruba race, but the Igbos.

“2023 is the turn of the Igbos not even Yoruba, and if they miss it now, their great-grandchildren will be angry with them. Peter Obi can only make effort but won’t win.”

The cleric, further explained that the Igbo candidate who can win in 2023 was not given the ticket to contest.

He urged the Igbos not to be deterred if they miss it and that they should prepare for the 2027 general elections.

“The person who could have won the 2023 presidential election for the Igbos was not given the ticket, so the Igbos should go back and realign ahead of 2027.

“I support Yoruba’s agenda but it’s not their turn, 2023 is the turn of the Igbos, and if they miss it now, their next generation will suffer for it.”

The cleric further made clarifications on Wike’s body movement to join the APC, saying he should learn from his Ebonyi and Rivers state counterparts Umahi and Ayade.

According to the cleric both of them were warned but didn’t listen.

H said “Wike leaving PDP to APC is the end of his political career. When we warned Umahi and Ayade they felt we were making noise, now they know. Wike should not take the wrong step.

“APC and PDP are no longer good for Nigeria, they are not a glorious party that will take Nigeria to the next level even with their Chairmen. They picked the wrong people as Chairmen,” he added.

The officers took to the streets of Port Harcourt on Wednesday to demonstrate their displeasure over the issue.

The protesting personnel, who defied the downpour in the metropolis and gathered at the Government House where they demanded payment of their salaries.

The protesters came from the 23 local government areas of the state where they were drafted to, and first converged at the government house gate before they later moved the protest to the private residence of the governor, Nyesom Wike, at Ada-George Road.

TheNewsGuru gathered that the state government had allegedly stopped the payment of the state security outfit for over one year and that all efforts to get the monies paid was unsuccessful.

The Director General of the Corps, Dr Uche Chukwuma, said all intervention to stop the protest did not work, but urged the angry corps officials to maintain calm.

Chukwuma regretted that the protesters were accusing him of compromise, saying he was in a dilemma.

He said, “There is no point denying it again because it has taken place already. They came to my office this morning to ask some vital questions and I gave them answers.

“After that they went to the government house unknown to me. When I got the information, I went there to disperse them, only for them to move from there to converge at the governor’s private residence.

” I also went there to talk to them and dispersed them too. I am not the one paying their salary. The governor is the one and not me. I have done my part to ensure they are calm.

“It is for the governor to pay their salary, including mine. I am the one in dilemma here because they came accusing me that the money has been paid and I sent it to my personal account.

“But after addressing them I believe they were convinced that was why they went to hear from the governor directly. They have been accusing me that the money has been paid to me but unofficially.

“I have asked them to go and maintain calm while I make an effort to see that the governor reaches out to us and addresses the issue.

“I will reach out to the authorities to ensure that this kind of incident does not happen again. I was really embarrassed today.”

On his part, the corps Director of Operations, said for over one year that their salaries have not been paid.

He claimed that all efforts to get the government to clear the backlog of salaries had failed, adding that the reason for the peaceful demonstration was to get the governor’s attention to their predicaments.

“We are here because of our salary. We have been suffering since 2018 till now. Some of our personnel have died in this same struggle. Today, we have fought to ensure Rivers State is peaceful.

“It looks as if we don’t know what we are doing. No logistics, no salaries, no vehicles, no office.

“Even some local government chairmen treat us like animals. They will use us and dump us. After using us they will say they don’t know about neighbourhood watch,” Mathew said.

He added, “We will want to ask our father (governor). He is the number one citizen of this state, you are the founder of the Watch. Will you stay and see the Neighborhood Watch erased?

“A lot of them are getting tired. In the last election, we lost some of our people and there was compensation.”

  • PDP: Atiku, Wike reconciliation meeting hits the rocks

The reconciliation committee set up by the camp of the Peoples Democratic Party(PDP)’s flagbearer, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar, to reconcile with Rivers Governor, Nyesom Wike, has hit the rocks.

Governor Nyesom  Wike‘s camp has dismissed the attempt as futile and  unnecessary.

Meanwhile a PDP chieftain in Rivers State and former member of the House of Representatives, Ogbomna Nwuke, has also described the Atiku reconciliation committee as a contradiction.

In his reactions “On one hand, somebody says he (Wike) is one who talks too much, who probably is uncontrollable. And then, on the other hand, you want him to help your cause. You want victory and you think he can contribute to your victory. Is that not a contradiction?

“There was an attempt to draft a man who was not interested in the vice-presidency into the vice-president; a committee set up, the caucus spoke, the national working committee of the party spoke favourably about Wike and it was not honoured.”

“Atiku did what he wanted to do. So what committee is he setting up again? To do what?  It doesn’t make sense.

“When the convention was over, nobody showed him the way to Wike’s house. If he wants Wike to work with him, he should walk to the Governor of Rivers State and speak with him. We don’t need committees, what will the committee do? It doesn’t make sense to me.

“I don’t know why relationships shouldn’t be exploited. What is this committee thing?  You have something else in your mind, you set up a committee to do something else. What is the meaning of that?”

“For the avoidance of doubt, Governor Wike had said no matter what happens he would not leave the PDP. That was what he said.

“The implication is that a man who is committed to the PDP will work for the PDP, whether you set up a committee or not. And that is my personal opinion,” Nwuke stated.

The  former commissioner for Information and Communications in Rivers State,  also berated the former governor of Niger State, Babangida Aliyu, who granted an interview accusing Wike of being rude and loquacious.

Recall that Aliyu granted  interview on Channels Tv on Tuesday said that the PDP presidential candidate did not pick Wike as his running mate because he wanted someone that could complement him, rather than one that talks too much like Wike.

But Nwuke, who represented Etche-Omuma federal constituency in the National Assembly, dismissed Aliyu’s criticisms, saying he didn’t understand the difference between politicking and administration.

He argued, “The Wike that this man (Aliyu) is talking about has been chief of staff. As chief of staff, he never went against his principal. He spoke and did not go beyond his brief.

“This same man (Wike) had served as the Minister of Education. While serving as minister he did not also speak out of tune. Of course, he knew who the boss was, he knew what his role was and he played his role.

“And so people should draw a fine line between politicking and administration. They are not the same thing.

“Everybody who knows Wike knows that he is a team player. In trying to help build the PDP he worked with a team of committed PDP people. And together, they were able to bring the PDP from where it was, in defeat to where it is today.”

However, the Commissioner for Information,  Delta State, Charles Aniagwu, in an interview with pressmen disclosed that the leaders of PDP were already on the move to pacify aggrieved members.

Meanwhile the leadership of the All Progressives Congress ( APC) in Rivers State says it would capitalize on the crisis rocking the PDP in the state  to shock the ruling party  and take over the Government House in 2023.

The state APC chairman, Emeka Beke, who disclosed this during an interview pressmen in Port Harcourt, also said the party would deliver the state for its Presidential candidate, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu.

” We will capitalize on the crisis and shock the ruling Peoples Democratic Party in the state, we will deliver Rivers state to Tinubu in 2023” He said.
