    Euro 2024: Liverpool legend, Graeme Souness picks trophy favourite

    Former Liverpool star, Graeme Souness, has picked England as the favourite to win the 2024 Euro starting today.

    The tournament will start on Friday evening, with the German machine  taking on Scotland at the Alianz Arena.

    However, Souness believes the Three Lions are the best team ahead of Germany, Spain and Italy to coast home with the trophy.

    The Englishman was quizzed by DAZN and he chose his country home as the favourite.

    “I think England are favourites. Germany, Spain and Italy are all not as strong as they once were.

    “When it comes to France, England were better than them in the World Cup quarter-final in the second half.”

    Liverpool legend, Graeme Souness, has tipped Manchester City to win the English premier League title this season despite Arsenal topping the table with five points clear.

    Souness noted that City has what it takes to claim their third consecutive title.

    Arsenal have either beaten or drawn against tems that have faced them this season except the loss to Manchester United.

    However, the Gunners are yet to play Manchester City and Arsenal this season.

    Arsenal leads with five points and will definitely top the table at Christmas.

    “Arsenal right now if you ask me, are a club that are going places with this manager.

    “Will they sustain it? I still think people are playing for second place to City, but Arsenal are a fabulous story right now, they really are.”

    Ex-Liverpool boss plays down Pogba’s impact against Leeds

    Graeme Souness played down Paul Pogba’s impact in Manchester United’s 5-1 win against Leeds on Saturday, instead hailing Mason Greenwood as the “star of the show”.

    The Red Devils opened the new Premier League campaign with an impressive display at Old Trafford.

    But ex-Liverpool midfielder and manager Souness said the France star’s input was to be expected from someone the club paid a then-record transfer fee of €105 million (£89m) to sign in 2016.

    “For me, yesterday the star of the show was Greenwood. For a young boy, I thought he was sensational,” he said on Sky Sports .

    When fellow pundit Micah Richards laughed and pointed out that Pogba had four assists, Souness replied: “We expect that from a £100 million man.
