    I’ll win Grammy without you – Portable replies Davido

    The social media is awashed with the drama controversial singer Habeeb Okikiola also known as Portable and Davido are playing up.

    Portable on Thursday hit hard on Davido for unfollowing him on instagram saying he would win grammy without him.

    The duo fell out after Portable publicly accused Davido of giving him ‘bad advice’ during their recent dinner in the United States.

    He claimed that Davido, who signed with Sony Music, advised him against joining the label and urged him to sign with Empire instead.

    The ‘Zazu’ crooner alleged foul play, saying he is also aiming for a Grammy like Davido yet the DMW boss is asking him to join a label that might not influence the award for him.

    Following his outburst, Davido unfollowed him on Instagram on Thursday.

    In his reaction, Portable said he doesn’t need Davido’s followership or assistance to be a successful artist or to win a Grammy.

    He claimed  that Davido unfollowed him because he stopped being beneficial to him.

    Speaking in a video message shared via his Instagram page, Portable said: “They tried to destroy me and quickly unfollowed me because I stopped being beneficial to them. Whether you help me or not, I will do my tour; whether you follow me or not, I will collect Grammy.”

    The BBNaija Season 6 winner, has said winning Grammy has been compromised and has lost its value.

    Speaking in a recent interview with content creator, Egungun, Whitemoney said his target is now on the local Headies Awards.

    He said, “The way things are going now, Grammy don cast. Make we manage Headies. I’m not sure if I’m still pursuing my desire of winning Grammys. Now I’m pursuing any award that keeps my relevant.

    “Because after what Grammy organisers did to our superstars, Davido and Burna Boy at the last award ceremony, it’s now looking like they are using Nigeria for publicity stunt.

    “But never say never. My style of music is unique. If it takes me to the Grammys, no wahala.”

    Top Nigerian record producer, singer, and songwriter, popularly known by his trademark “It’s Kel P Vibes” is no stranger to the global music stage. His work on groundbreaking projects like African Giant by Burna Boy, Made in Lagos (Deluxe Version) by Wizkid, Timeless by Davido, and Mother Nature by Angélique Kidjo speaks volumes of his talent and credibility as a relevant voice in the Afrobeats scene.

    This brings even more weight to Kel P’s decision to collaborate with and cosign the yet to be discovered talent in Sugarbana.

    Born and brought up in Lagos, Sugarbana started writing music at the age of 14. His music style is a fusion of Afrobeats, R&B, and hip-hop, which he delivers with a unique vocal and lyrical style.

    Controversial Nigerian singer, Habeeb Okikiola, popularly known as Portable, has posited that winning a Grammy is his ultimate goal in the music industry.

    According to Portable, he would feel accomplished if he wins a grammy award.

    The Sango based singer made this known during an interview with content creator, Timi Agbaje, Portable said, “My ultimate goal in the music industry is to win a Grammy. I will only feel accomplished if I win a Grammy. I want to win the African category.

    “I want to win an international award because our local awards are compromised. I sing better than most of my colleagues. A lot of them use autotune. They can’t perform with live band or sing good music. They can’t make conscious music.”

    Popular Afrobeats musician David Adeleke fondly called Davido has revealed his father’s response to his Grammy loss.

    Speaking about his journey to stardom during his latest interview with Rolling Stone,  the Grammy nominee stated that despite the loss his father told him that he remains a legend.

    Davido, who is a first time Grammy nominee, failed to secure any of the three categories he was nominated for.

    The singer, is a nominee for Best African Music Performance—Unavailable, Global Music Performance—Feel, and Global Music Album—Timeless

     He said “Being nominated alone is enough to make me proud of myself. I just want my song to be heard on the radio once or twice in the beginning, but for it to transcend to this is just amazing and God’s doing.

    “I was on the phone with my dad yesterday and he was like ‘Son no matter what happens, you are still a legend’. So yeah, he is a big fan.”

    Burna Boy’s performance at Grammy ranks No. 6th- Billboard

    Nigerian singer, Damini Ogulu, popularly known as Burna Boy has ranked No. 6 on Billboard for his debut at the 66th Grammy.

    Burna Boy performed for the first time at the Grammys on Sunday, February 4.

    The acclaimed ‘African Giant’ ranked No. 6 out of all the performances during the 2024 Grammys.

    He performed “Sittin’ on Top of the World” while accompanied by Brandy and 21 Savage.

    During his production, he put on an impressive performance with infectious energy and charisma.

    Billboard in a statement, said: “For the first Afrobeats performance at the Grammys, Burna Boy pulled out all the stops. Backed by Brandy’s gorgeous vocals and 21 Savage’s detached, confident cool, Burna sang “Sittin’ on Top of the World” and demonstrated that is precisely where he belongs.”

    President Bola Tinubu has congratulated Nigeria’s musical talents nominated for the 2024 Grammy Awards.

    The nominees are Burna Boy, Davido, Olamide, Tems, Asake, and Ayra Starr.

    Tinubu celebrates the musical marvels who have put Nigeria on the chart of cultural command through their artistry and anthemic earworms.

    He said that disposition had earned the nation enormous soft power across the globe.

    “Our superstars nominated for the Grammy Awards are all winners. I am proud of their exploits.

    “They represent that Nigerian ideal; the courage to strive and succeed against all odds and the hope to stay true to purpose.

    “I congratulate and thank them for being exemplary envoys of Nigeria,” the President said.

    Tinubu commended these exceptional artists for their fidelity to the art, audacity, and discipline in the pursuit of excellence.

    The Nigeria’s nominees lost the’Best African Music Performance’ trophy to South-African singer Tyla.

    She earned the prize with her 2023 track, “Water”.

    The South African ‘Water’ came ahead of Asake & Olamide’s ‘Amapiano’; Burna Boy’s ‘City Boys Miracle’; Davido Featuring Musa Keys “Unavailable”; and Ayra Starr’s “Rush”.

    As the World biggest music award is slated for today, February 4, Joni Mitchell has been announced as a surprise performer at this year’s Grammy Awards.

    The legendary artist, 80, will sing at the ceremony for the first time along with fellow artists Billie Eilish, SZA, Dua Lipa, Olivia Rodrigo, U2, Travis Scott, Luke Combs, Burna Boy and Billy Joel.

    Billboard reports that Taylor Swift will not perform but she will be at the ceremony. Meanwhile, Joel will perform his first single in almost two decades, “Turn the Lights Back On”, while Combs will duet with Tracy Chapman on her song “Fast Car”, which he covered last year.

    Nigerian singer, Burna Boy is expected to perform with 21 Savage and Brandy, while Mitchell is teed up for a duet with Brandi Carlile.

    Mitchell, regarded as one of the greatest and most influential artists of all time, has steadily been making a return to live performances after suffering a brain aneurysm in 2015.

    The Blue artist appeared at the Kennedy Center Honors in 2021, then, alongside Bonnie Raitt, introduced Brandi Carlile’s performance at the 2022 Grammys.

    Mitchell has received a total of 18 Grammy nominations over the course of her career and has won nine times, plus a Grammy Lifetime Achievement award in 2002.

    This year’s Grammy Awards will be hosted by comedian Trevor Noah and broadcast live by CBS from the Crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles.

    Women are set to dominate at this year’s awards show, with stars including SZA, Taylor Swift, Eilish, Miley Cyrus, Olivia Rodrigo and Victoria Monet up for some of the night’s biggest categories.

    Swift could break a record if she wins the coveted Album of the Year for her 2023 record, Midnights, which would make her the only artist in Grammys history to have won the prize four times.

    She has previously won for her albums Fearless, 1989, and her 2022 album Folklore.

    Last year, Beyoncé won four Grammys, breaking the record for most career wins with 32. She is also tied with her husband, rapper Jay-Z, with the most career nominations with 88.

    Ahead of tomorrow’s biggest music award night, American record label Empire hosted a Grammy pre-party in Los Angeles, USA, to celebrate its Nigerian-nominated artists, Olamide, Fireboy DML, and Asake.

    Also spotted at the party were Tina Davis, Wale, The Compozers, DJ Consequence, Jidenna, Sarz, WurlD, Pheelz, Boity Thulo, Musa Keyz, and Poco Lee.

    Olamide and Asake were nominated for their collaboration “Amapiano” in the category of Best African Music Performance, while Fireboy DML earned a nomination in the Album of the Year category for his contributions to Jon Batiste’s “World Music Radio.”

    Ahead of the 66th grammy awards, Popular Nigerian singer, Oyinkansola Sarah fondly called Ayra Starr, has said she already have her Grammy’s speech, outfit and she already know the way she would walk on February 4.

    During an interview with Cool FM, hosted by the OAP, Do2dtun, the budding singer, who is nominated for Best African Music Performance at the 2024 Grammys for her chart-topping track “Rush,” expressed her excitement.

    During the conversation, Ayra Starr conveyed her excitement for the ceremony that is set to take place on Sunday, February 4.

    She revealed that she was ready for the big event by highlighting her careful planning for it.

    When asked how she planned to respond to receiving the prized honour, Ayra revealed her thoughts.

    She said she wanted to celebrate by treating herself to a lavish dinner at her favourite Chinese restaurant and then making a meaningful video chat with her mother.

    Ayra Starr continued by revealing that she had written her acceptance speech for the Grammy stage, practiced her walk, and chosen her dress with care.

    She said,once I win the grammy, there’s this Chinese restaurant I’ll go to.
