    Grammy award winner Adele files for divorce from husband

    Grammy Award winner, Adele Adkins a.k.a Adele, has filed for divorce from her husband, Simon Konecki, according to legal documents filed in the U.S.

    The documents added that the couple, who announced their separation in April , asked for privacy and there would be no further comment, according to TMZ.

    Adele’s marriage to Konecki have always been kept away from the public.

    After the couple’s separation earlier in the year, they said they were committed to raising their son together lovingly.’

    The divorce papers were lodged at a court in Los Angeles,.

    The couple started dating in 2011 although not much was known about their relationship.

    Adele gave birth to her son, Angelo, in 2012. She married Konecki – an investment banker turned charity boss – in 2016 after five years of dating.

    The best-selling north London-born artist is known for her chart-topping albums 19, 21 and 25.

    They married in a secret ceremony in 2016, with Adele publicly addressing the wedding for the first time during an acceptance speech at the 2017 Grammys, where she thanked her husband.

    The 31 year old London born and singer of ‘’HELLO’’ has won many awards, 15 Grammys as well as an Oscar.

    Singer, Ariana Grande will not be performing at the Grammy Awards after reportedly falling out with the show’s producers.

    According to Variety, the 25 year old pop star, who was scheduled to perform at the Feb. 10 show reportedly had a disagreement with Grammy producers over what songs she would perform during the show.

    The singer is said to have felt “insulted” after those organizing the show refused to permit her to perform “7 Rings,” the latest single on her upcoming album, Thank U, Next, which is slated for release on Friday.

    The singer and producers at first reached a compromise, agreeing that 7 Rings would be part of a medley that Grande was to perform but the artist pulled out completely after they demanded they be allowed to choose the second song.

    Sources also claimed that such stipulations were not placed on other artists at the show.

    Grammy Awards returns to New York after 14 years

    Revered music awards, The Grammies will be heading to New York in 2018 after more than a decade in Los Angeles, the organizers revealed. The 60th edition of the awards will take place on January 28 at Manhattan’s Madison Square Arena, where it was held in 2003.

    This move to take the event staged at Staples Centre in downtown Los Angeles, to New York was championed by the city’s mayor, Bill de Blasio, the statement said. According to reports, the show is estimated to bring $200 million to the city’s economy.

     

    “Playing host to the music industry’s marquee awards show is a unique creative, artistic and economic boom to the rich cultural fabric of our city,” de Blasio said in the statement.

     

    The announcement was accompanied by a short film directed by Spike Lee, in which he and New York musicians including Cyndi Lauper and Tony Bennett showed off the city’s musical history and venues.
