SAD! 5 casualties listed in wedding massacre as ‘drunk’ groom shoots wife

Five casualties listed in wedding massacre as ‘drunk’ Paralympic athlete groom, 29, shoots his wife, 44, mother-in-law and guests then k!lls himself after arguing during the ceremony in Thailand

A wedding massacre in Thailand has left five dead after a ‘drunk’ Paralympic athlete groom shot his newlywed bride, mother-in-law and guests and then killed himself.

The shooting rampage took place at around 11.25pm on Saturday at a house in the Wang Nam Khieo district in north-east Thailand, where a wedding party was being held for Chaturong Suksuk, 29 and Kanchana Pachunthuek, 44.

During the celebrations, guests and relatives noticed that Chaturong, a former soldier and Paralympic athlete, looked angry after a row with his bride ‘about insecurities over his disability’.

He then stormed out of the venue to his car and returned with a 9mm pistol before opening fire, killing the bride, her 62-year-old mother, Kingthong Klajorho, and her 38-year-old sister, Kornika Manator.

Stray bullets hit two other guests killing one of them, Thong Nonkhunthod, 50, and seriously injuring Bamrung Chaterarat, 28.

Bodies were left strewn across the dance floor when emergency crews arrived.

Police said 11 bullets were recovered from the scene while video showed a number of body bags lined up on the grass and pools of blood at the venue.

While an exact motive has yet to be determined, witnesses told local media that the row was sparked by Chaturong’s insecurity over his disability.

The guests allegedly said Chaturong – who ‘was quite intoxicated at the time’ – grew angry because he feared his new wife might leave him for other men.

A neighbour, 70, said: ‘I heard the loud shots and thought they were just setting off firecrackers for the party.

‘It was only in the morning that I learned what happened. I’m devastated. I’ve known the couple for a long time and I was like a mother to them.’

Chaturong is said to have purchased the gun and ammunition legally last year.

Police said Chaturong was a former marine soldier working at the Sattahip naval base in Chon Buri. He had lost his right leg after he was run over by a train while on duty.

Chaturong was a member of the Thai team of paralympic athletes who took part in the 11th Asean Para Games in Indonesia in 2022 and won a silver medal in swimming.

The couple had lived together for three years before deciding to get married, according to Thai media.

The tragedy came just days after Thai Prime Minister Srettha Thavisin signed an order to stop issuing gun licenses for a year in a bid to curb gun violence in the country.

The official had vowed to tighten gun control in Thailand, which has one of the highest gun ownership and gun homicide rates in Asia, following a shocking mall shooting in which a teenage gunman opened fire at shoppers at a Bangkok mall in October.

Drama at wedding as groom plays to guests X-rated video of his bride cheating with her brother-in-law (VIDEO)

There was a mild drama at a wedding ceremony as a bridegroom stunned spectators by playing to guests an X-rated video of his bride cheating with her brother-in-law.

He revealed that his bride has not been faithful.

In a video making the rounds on the internet, the groom and his bride were seen at the altar about to exchange their wedding vows.

When the priest that is to wed them asked if anyone had any reason why the couple should not be joined as one, much to the surprise of everyone, the bridegroom raised a finger.

He thanked his friends and family for coming before proceeding to address his wife, whom he reminded of how much he loves and adores.

He told her he had always wanted to talk to her about something but had not known how to, so he decided to play a clip that was captured by a hidden CCTV camera showing her cheating on him.

The wedding party in China ended in disbelief after a bedroom scene, featuring the bride and with her brother-in-law.

It was gathered that the video clip was played out from a projector at the couple’s reception.

The disgraced woman then threw her bouquet at her husband as he can be heard shouting: “Did you think I didn’t know about this?”

TheNewsGuru.com reports that the video originally went viral in 2019, but has recently been shared on TikTik where it is outraging a whole new audience, clocking up almost six million views and thousands of comments.

The video is captioned, ‘Cheating bride’, and a title over the clip reads: “The groom played a video of his wife cheating on him with her pregnant sister-in-law’s husband in front of everybody.”

The video has divided viewers as to who was in the wrong. Cheating is one thing, but there’s probably better times and places to address it.

Most of the commenters were on the groom’s side, saying the bride “got what she deserved”. “Best revenge – in front of all their family and friends,” one user wrote.

“Honesty, I am this petty and would 1000 percent do this,” another said. “Man stood there knowing the calamity he’s about to cause,” someone else added.

Other viewers were confused why the man bothered getting married only to blow the whole thing up: “Isn’t this at the party so doesn’t that mean they already said I do?” one person said.

“Why’d he go through with the wedding?” another asked.

“So why did he waste all that money on the wedding?” one man wrote.

Reporting on the video at the time, Asia One noted that the unnamed couple had been together for two years and were engaged for six months before their big day.

It was also claimed the bride had “suffered domestic violence” at the hands of the groom and had sought comfort with his sister’s husband.

The man is alleged to have become enraged when his bride defeated him in a game during their wedding reception.

The new couple was on stage during their wedding reception, which was held in Uzbekistan, when the toastmaster made them take part in a competition.

The bride won the game, and when the groom realized he had lost, he aggressively whacked her in the back of the head with his hand.

Mystified, the bride put her hand to her head, before she lifted her white wedding dress from the floor and was led off the stage by two other women.

As if nothing had happened, the groom stood on the stage, peering out across the silent throng that had been cheering the pair on seconds before.

  • Police arrest runaway bride who disappeared over groom’s inability to pay bridal price

Police arrest runaway bride who disappeared over groom’s inability to pay bridal price

The Police in Suleja, Niger, have confirmed the arrest of the parents and relation of a bride, who disappeared after her wedding, refusing to go to her husband’s home.

The arrest of the trio followed a complaint to the police by their son-in-law, Shuaib Dauda, for the sudden disappearance of their daughter few hours after wedding.

Dauda earns a living as an auto mechanic.

Insp. Aliyu Lawal, Officer-in-charge of Kaduna-Road Police outpost in Suleja, gave the confirmation to the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) on Sunday.

Lawal said the incident occurred on May 6 when the bridegroom complained to the police that the people he sent to the bride’s home to fetch her, in accordance with the tradition, did not see her.

Lawal said the footdragging by the brides’ family to deliver the bride to the bridegroom led to the disruption of peace in the area, hence the arrest of the parents and the marriage guardian.

“They were arrested on Sunday, May 6, and granted bail on Monday May 7,” he said.

But Mr Abubakar Haruna, popularly known as Zakiru and a resident of Hayi along Kaduna Road, told NAN that he gave out two daughters same day, Fiddausi to Dauda and Saliha to one Muhammadu Murtala.

He said before the marriage, Dauda and Murtala promised to comply with all the religious and traditional obligations for the marriage such as the dowry and buying of clothes and boxes for the brides.

“After the wedding ceremony, Dauda said he could not afford to buy the clothes and boxes to the bride as promised earlier.

“Fiddausi, realising that Murtala (the husband to Saliha) had redeemed his promise and presented the traditional gifts and Dauda did not, ran away to the neighbouring house until her bridegroom fulfilled his own promise,’’ he said.

Haruna said already beddings, traditional kitchen wares, furniture and other domestic utensils had been taken to Dauda’s home, ahead of the conveyance of Fiddausi to her new home.

He explained that while they were searching for Fiddausi, the team sent by the bridegroom to fetch Fiddausi to the matrimonial home hinted Dauda of the sudden disappearance of the bride.

He claimed Dauda mobilised his friends who stormed his compound, insisting that Fiddausi must be produced. In the process they molested him and brutalised his wife, named Bayi.

“Some other female guests from Kano were also brutalised, food items and other valuables they brought for the wedding ceremony were stolen by the hoodlums who attacked us for our alleged failure to produce the bride,’’ Haruna said.

Haruna said while the hoodlums were molesting his family and his guests, the police officers from Kaduna Road outpost arrested him, his wife and his younger brother who is also the marriage guardian. The latter was identified as Umar Musa.

Haruna dismissed the allegation by the police that he was arrested for disrupting public peace in the community. Rather, he explained that the police asked him to refund N260,000 to Dauda, being the amount he spent on the marriage.

Haruna said when he failed to pay the money as demanded, he was detained together with his wife and his younger brother by the police.

According to him, they were detained overnight at the police outpost and were granted bail following the intervention of his lawyer, Mr Aliyu Musa.

He said the bail was obtained on the condition that they would bring the money the following day or risk prosecution.

Meanwhile, Fiddausi has returned to her father’s house.
