Mourinho on Hazard: Amazing player with awful training

New Roma coach Jose Mourinho has taken aim at Real Madrid’s Belgium star Eden Hazard.

Hazard played under Mourinho during the Portuguese’s second spell at Chelsea, winning a Premier League title in 2013/14.

But the pair enjoyed a famously combustible relationship during their time together, with Mourinho once telling a dressing room they were “playing with 10 men” thanks to Hazard’s lack of defensive work.

Coming off the back of his worst season as a professional, Mourinho has rekindled the rivalry, claiming his poor attitude on the training pitch stops him from reaching the game’s pinnacle.

Asked about his former charge, Mourinho told talkSPORT: “An amazing player with awful training.

“He gets on the pitch every morning and he doesn’t work much. You can imagine what he could be if he was a top professional.”

Madrid president blames me for Hazard injury problems – Meunier

Borussia Dortmund defender Thomas Meunier has recalled clashing with Real Madrid president Florentino Perez over Eden Hazard last season.

Meunier, when with PSG, famously injured Hazard in a tackle during a Champions League clash in 2019.

Speaking with RTBF, he recalled a later meeting with Florentino.

“We met, I extended my hand to him and I said: ‘Delighted’. He answered me in French: ‘Nice to meet you? Do you realise what you did? You hurt Hazard and you tell me delighted’.

“I got p***ed off and said, ‘Did I hurt Hazard?’ Is it my fault he’s hurt?’.

“Florentino told me yes. I told him it was a tackle like any other.”

Eden Hazard breaks silence on Chelsea return

Eden Hazard has delivered an update on his future amid Real Madrid exit and Chelsea return links.

Hazard has struggled for Los Blancos since his more than £100million move from Chelsea in 2019, missing no fewer than 59 games through injury so far.

The Belgium international, 30, enjoyed seven successful seasons at Stamford Bridge before leaving for Spain.

Hazard won two Premier League titles, the Europa League and FA Cup at Chelsea, while establishing himself as one of the best players in Europe.

It has been a different story for Hazard at the Bernabeu, however, with his form and fitness taking a hit. In two seasons at the club, he has scored just five goals.

Responding to the transfer rumours, Hazard said on Monday: ‘I still have a three-year contract with Real Madrid, so going back to England is out of the question.

‘Everyone knows that my first two years were not good, so first I want to prove myself at Real Madrid. I will do everything to do that.’

Hazard added: ‘I certainly don’t see myself leaving Madrid, given the contract situation.

‘I know myself and I know when I’m in shape. If that’s the case, I can give it my all for Real next season. That’s my plan.’

Real Madrid want Chelsea to take back Hazard

La Liga giant Real Madrid are encouraging Champions League winner Chelsea to take back Eden Hazard.

AS says Real Madrid could cut their losses on Hazard after two poor years at the Bernabeu.

And should they offload the forward it would free up funds to rebuild their squad.

The report adds that they’d hope to recoup around £85million of the £140m they paid two years ago.

Zinedine Zidane’s departure means Hazard has lost his ‘main support’ from the past two years.

It could signal an amazing return to the club where he spent seven years and won two Premier League titles.

But his advancing years and huge wages would be a problem for Blues boss Thomas Tuchel to navigate.

Mourinho pushing for reunion with Hazard at Roma

Roma coach Jose Mourinho is pushing to bring Real Madrid attacker Eden Hazard to Italy.

Mourinho wants a reunion with his former Chelsea star this summer.

Deportes Cuatro says Mourinho is plotting an audacious swoop for the 30-year-old.

Hazard moved to Real back in 2019 for £130million but has been a huge disappointment in the Spanish capital.

Over two years, he’s scored just five times and Real are understood to be running out of patience with him.

Some reports suggest that the club would be willing to allow him to leave for free, to allow the absence of his wage to free up some space financially.

Hazard apologises to Madrid fans for joking with Chelsea players

Eden Hazard has apologised to Real Madrid supporters for being seen laughing with Chelsea players immediately after his side’s UEFA Champions League semi-final exit on Wednesday.

The Belgium international, who spent seven seasons at Stamford Bridge before joining Real Madrid in 2019, was heavily criticised for sharing a joke with some of his former colleagues.

It came after another ineffective performance from Hazard, who has struggled with injuries in his two seasons at the Santiago Bernabeu and has been linked with a move away.

He played 89 minutes of the 2-0 loss in west London as goals from Timo Werner and Mason Mount sent perennial European champions Real Madrid crashing out 3-1 on aggregate.

A number of former Real Madrid players have taken aim at Hazard for his actions at full-time.

Fernando Morientes called for the 30-year-old to say “sorry” to the club’s fanbase.

And Hazard took to social media on Thursday to do exactly that in a short statement.

“I am sorry. I have read lots of opinions about me today and it was not my intention to offend the Real Madrid fans.

“It has always been my dream to play for Real Madrid and I came here to win. The season is not over and together we must battle for La Liga! Hala Madrid!”

Hazard won two Premier League titles, two Europa Leagues, the EFL Cup and the FA Cup during his time with Chelsea.

The forward has featured only 40 times for the Spanish giants in all competitions since arriving in a big-money deal, including 18 appearances in the 2020/2021 campaign.

He may get an opportunity to redeem himself when title-chasing Real Madrid host Sevilla in La Liga on their return to action on Sunday

Madrid fans upset seeing Hazard joking with Chelsea players

Eden Hazard has upset Real Madrid fans after being seen sharing a joke with Chelsea players at the end of Thursday’s defeat.

Hazard was seen laughing and smiling at full time as he greeted some of his former teammates.

The former Chelsea player started the game for his current club Real Madrid, but didn’t have an impact and his side lost 2-0 on the night and 3-1 on aggregate.

Then, after full time, he congratulated the winning side and was even spotted by the TV cameras sharing a joke with some of the Blues.

This has not gone down at all well in Madrid, with Real Madrid supporters fuming on social media at the sight of the 2019 superstar signing looking so content after losing a European semi-final.

Chelsea receives extra £20m from Hazard’s sale to Madrid

Premier League side Chelsea have raked in an extra £20m from Eden Hazard’s move to Real Madrid.

The Belgian sealed his high-profile switch to the Bernabeu for a whopping initial £130million in June 2019.

The 30-year-old has managed just 20 league starts since his move, scoring just three goals.

But due to Chelsea’s savvy add-on clauses included in the deal, the Blues are still raking in the cash.

The Athletic says Chelsea earned an extra £20m on top of the original £130m transfer after Real Madrid won the league title last season and qualified for the Champions League.

Hazard contributed just one league goal last season and made three assists.

The article adds how Chelsea will also be due another profitable sum if Zinedine Zidane’s side win the Champions League this year.

  • Ex-agent: Hazard should’ve joined Barca not Real Madrid

Ex-agent: Hazard should’ve joined Barca not Real Madrid

The former agent of Real Madrid attacker Eden Hazard says he should’ve joined Barcelona.

Real Madrid signed Hazard in 2019 for €120m.

But John Vico told La Dernière Heure: “It was a mistake to go to Real at that time. It is his choice. A choice of heart but no reason. He should have gone a year before or later but never the year Ronaldo left. Passing after him is like scaling the Himalayas with bare hands. You have to know how to dare to say no to Eden and, unfortunately, some do not dare. I would have advised him against it telling him to go the year before or to leave through the Chelsea gate a year later.”

On Real Madrid, Vico continued: “People do not realise and forget the athletic dimension of this team which has a game with a lot of physical demands in terms of rhythm and intensity because the technical level of the team is approaching 10/10.

“Great talents like James have failed to adapt. On this point, Eden is not a player for Real but for Barça. It is at Barça where he should have gone, where the ball runs more than the players unlike Real where the project does not correspond to the physiological memory of his body. That’s why he’s cracking up everywhere. He should have stayed an extra season at Chelsea to go through the front door and above all prepare his body for the changes to come.

“At Barça, he would have had a blast, he would have had more freedom on the pitch, he would have had the ball constantly at his feet.”

  • Mikel Obi exposes Hazard to Real Madrid

Mikel Obi exposes Hazard to Real Madrid

Former Chelsea midfielder John Obi Mikel has revealed that Real Madrid ace Eden Hazard was the “worst trainer” he encountered at Stamford Bridge.

Hazard is currently battling to overcome a new injury setback at the Spanish club.

And Obi Mikel told the Athletic: “I’ve always said that Hazard is one of the most gifted players, he had it all: speed, power, skill, technique … He was right behind Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo. But only if he wanted to. He sometimes said, ‘Yes. I want to be so good, I can be. Not as good as Messi because he is from another planet, but I think I can be close to Cristiano and even better’.

“Those were the words that came out of his mouth, but he is not that dedicated. He doesn’t train well, he’s the worst training player I’ve ever played with.

“Why is he so bad? My God. Eden, Eden, Eden … ahhhh. Because he was so good that nobody said anything. He would arrive on Saturday and win the game for us, he was the man of the match. But on Monday and on Tuesday, he was in training and it was like he wasn’t there. Standing, wandering. Everybody fighting, screaming in the games and he didn’t do any of that.

“But you saw him on the pitch, how good he was. .. It’s not fair that some people are so talented!”
