    Popular Hollywood actor, Marinelli dies of stomach cancer

    Joe Marinelli, the popular Hollywood actor, known for his roles in ‘The Morning Show’, has passed away.

    TheNewsguru learnt that the wife of the actor, Jean Marinelli, confirmed Joe’s passing to the Hollywood Reporter. According to the deceased’s wife, the actor reportedly died last Sunday at age 68 after a long battle with throat and stomach cancer.

    Mourning the deceased, his colleague, Mark Duplass, in a social media post, wrote, “We have lost a great one. Joe Marinelli lived in the rare air.

    “He was a generous performer, beautiful human, wide-eyed positivist. I will miss him dearly. I will try to live my life a bit more like his. We all should”.

    “We taught classes together. We talked about nothing and everything in between takes. We cut right to the important stuff on Day 1 of meeting. I will miss him dearly. And I will try to live my life a bit more like he lived his. We all should.”

    Acclaimed director Alexander Payne also paid homage, writing:

    “The great Joe Marinelli acted in my very first movie at film school 40 years ago and again in Sideways. Aside from being an extraordinary artist, he was a uniquely magnificent human being with a heart as big as the ocean.”

    Popular Hollywood actor, Val Kilmer is dead

    Veteran Hollywood actor, Val Kilmer, has passed away.

    TheNewsGuru learnt that the daughter of the deceased, Mercedes Kilmer, in a statement on Tuesday night confirmed  her father’s demise.

    The statement indicated that the veteran movie star  died on Tuesday in Los Angeles at the age of 65 after a prolonged battle with pneumonia.

    Known as one of the most prominent Hollywood actors in the 1990s before his row with directors and co-stars and a series of flops dented his career.

    The actor came into limelight after featuring in the movie,  “Top Gun,”and was also recognized for portraying Jim Morrison in “The Doors,” Doc Holliday in “Tombstone,” and Batman in Batman Forever.

    Kilmer, who was diagnosed with throat cancer in 2014, but he later recovered also played large roles in Heat, 1995, The Saint, 1997, Willow, 1988, and more recently, Top Gun, Maverick.

    Over the years, Kilmer gained a reputation as temperamental, intense, perfectionistic and sometimes egotistical.

    Hollywood actor Gene Hackman, wife, dog found dead at home

    Oscar-winning American actor Gene Hackman, his wife Betsy Arakawa, and their dog have been found dead at their home in Santa Fe in New Mexico.

    A statement from the Santa Fe County Sheriff in New Mexico confirmed that both Gene Hackman 95,  and his wife  63, were found deceased Wednesday afternoon at their residence on Sunset Trail.

    “This is an active investigation – however, at this time, we do not believe that foul play was a factor.”

    The Santa Fe County Sheriff’s office told the BBC, “On 26 February, 2025 at approximately 1:45 p.m., Santa Fe County Sheriff’s deputies were dispatched to an address on Old Sunset Trail in Hyde Park where Gene Hackman, 95 and his wife Betsy Arakawa, 64 and a dog were found deceased.”

    Popular Hollywood actor, David Lynch is dead

    Veteran American actor and the creator of Twin Peaks and Mulholland Drive, David Keith Lynch, has passed away.

    TheNewsGuru reports that the actor, who revealed in 2024 that he was diagnosed with emphysema after decades of smoking. (Emphysema is a chronic lung disease that damages the air sacs in the lungs, making it difficult to breathe) was aged 72.

    According to Daily Post, the veteran filmmaker’s family announced his demise in a statement on Thursday.

    The family also pleaded for privacy as they mourn the deceased.

    The statement read, “It is with deep regret that we, his family, announce the passing of the man and the artist, David Lynch.

    “We would appreciate some privacy at this time. There’s a big hole in the world now that he’s no longer with us.”

    Recall that Lynch had insisted in August that he would not let the disease lead to his retirement, when fans raised concerns on his health.

    He wrote on X: “Ladies and gentlemen, yes, I have emphysema from my many years of smoking. I have now quit smoking for over two years. I am filled with happiness, and I will never retire.”

    Coming To America’ actor John Amos is dead

    Famous Hollywood actor John Amos, known for his roles in ‘Coming To America’ and ‘Good Times’, has died.

    The late veteran’s son, Kelly Christopher Amos, in a statement on Tuesday, disclosed that the actor passed away of natural causes on August 21.

    The late actor was aged 84.

    He described his father as a man with a “heart of gold,” adding that his legacy “will live on.”

    It is with heartfelt sadness that I share with you that my father has transitioned. He was a man with the kindest heart and a heart of gold, and he was loved the world over,” the statement reads.

    “Many fans consider him their TV father. He lived a good life. His legacy will live on in his outstanding works in television and film as an actor.”

    Born in New Jersey on December 27, 1937, Amos did not start as an actor but as a footballer.  His entertainment career began while he was cast as WJN-TV weatherman Gordy Howard on The Mary Tyler Moore Show.

    Amos delved into acting in 1970. His career spanned over 50 years in television and film.

    His film résumé also included ‘The World’s Greatest Athlete’ (1973), ‘Let’s Do It Again’ (1975), ‘The Beastmaster (1982), ‘Die Hard 2’ (1990), ‘Ricochet’ (1991), ‘Mac’ (1992), ‘Night Trap’ (1993), ‘For Better or Worse’ (1995), ‘The Players Club’ (1998), ‘Coming to America 2’ (2021) and ‘Because of Charley’ (2021).

    Coronavirus has taken away another actor. He is Tim Brooke-Taylor.

    The 79 year-old actor and comedian died early today, his agent said.

    ‘It is with great sadness that we announce Tim’s death early today from Covid-19.

    ‘Joining Footlights in 1960 took him to providing a huge variety of splendid entertainment – television, radio, theatre, film, books, DVDs, CDs, quizzes, etc – all of which he undertook with energy and a great sense of fun.

    ‘We will remember him for so much but must just mention The Goodies and I’m Sorry I Haven’t A Clue.

    ‘He had, of course, many fans whom he always treated cheerfully even after long and exhausting rehearsals and recordings.

    ‘He was an exceptional client and a pleasure to represent.

    ‘We’re grateful that we have so much of his work to view, read and listen to.

    ‘In all the time with us and in all his showbiz work, he has been supported by Christine, his wife.’

    John Hurt, the British actor who garnered Oscar nominations for his roles in “Midnight Express” and “The Elephant Man,” has died at the age of 77, his agent confirmed this morning. He died yesterday Jan. 27th in London just 5 days after his 77th birthday.

    Hurt worked more than six decades in television, movies and voice work in England and the United States. He recently played a priest who counsels Jacqueline Kennedy in last year’s biopic “Jackie”.

    Mourning him, actor Kiefer Sutherland tweeted: “My deepest sympathies to John Hurt’s family, friends and fans. He was a dear friend.”

    On 16 June 2015, Hurt publicly announced that he had been diagnosed with early-stage pancreatic cancer but said he would continue to work while undergoing treatment.

    Hurt played leading roles as John Merrick in David Lynch’s biopic The Elephant Man (1980), Winston Smith in a version of Nineteen Eighty-Four (1984), Mr.Braddock in the Stephen Frears drama The Hit (1984), and Stephen Ward in the drama depicting the Profumo affair, Scandal (1989).

    Hurt’s other films include the prison drama Midnight Express (1978), the science-fiction horror film Alien (1979), the adventure film Rob Roy (1995), the political thriller V for Vendetta (2006), the sci-fi adventure film Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull (2008), the Harry Potter film series (2001–11), the Hellboy films (2004 and 2008), and the Cold War espionage film Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy (2011). His character’s final scene in Alien has been named by a number of publications as one of the most memorable in cinematic history.

    He will next be in the 2017 film Darkest Hour, as British Prime Minister Neville Chamberlain, due to be released in November. Among his honours, he received two Academy Award nominations, a Golden Globe Award, and four BAFTA Awards, with the fourth being a Lifetime Achievement recognition for his outstanding contribution to British cinema. He was knighted in 2015 for his services to drama.
