    Popular Hollywood actor, Val Kilmer is dead

    Veteran Hollywood actor, Val Kilmer, has passed away.

    TheNewsGuru learnt that the daughter of the deceased, Mercedes Kilmer, in a statement on Tuesday night confirmed  her father’s demise.

    The statement indicated that the veteran movie star  died on Tuesday in Los Angeles at the age of 65 after a prolonged battle with pneumonia.

    Known as one of the most prominent Hollywood actors in the 1990s before his row with directors and co-stars and a series of flops dented his career.

    The actor came into limelight after featuring in the movie,  “Top Gun,”and was also recognized for portraying Jim Morrison in “The Doors,” Doc Holliday in “Tombstone,” and Batman in Batman Forever.

    Kilmer, who was diagnosed with throat cancer in 2014, but he later recovered also played large roles in Heat, 1995, The Saint, 1997, Willow, 1988, and more recently, Top Gun, Maverick.

    Over the years, Kilmer gained a reputation as temperamental, intense, perfectionistic and sometimes egotistical.

    Hollywood star, Tony Todd dies at 69

    Hollywood actor, Tony Todd popularly known for his roles in ‘Candyman’ horror franchise, has died aged 69.

    The actor’s representative disclosed that movie star died on Wednesday night at his home in Marina Del Rey, California, Los Angele however did not reveal the cause of death.

    Born on December 4, 1954, in Washington, D.C., Todd studied at the University of Connecticut for two years before getting a scholarship for the Eugene O’Neill National Theatre Institute.

    He also proceeded to study at the Trinity Repertory Company in Providence, Rhode Island

    Todd made his acting debut in 1986 for his role in ‘Sleepwalk’ but rose to fame for his role in ‘Candyman’ the 1992 movie.

    In his 40-year career, Todd featured in hundreds of films, stage productions and television dramas.

    His film resume include: ‘Platoon’ (1986), ‘Night of the Living Dead’ (1990), ‘The Crow’ (1994), ‘The Rock’ (1996), ‘Wishmaster’ (1997), ‘Hatchet’ (2006), ‘Minotaur’ (2006), and ‘The Man from Earth’ (2007).

    Others are ‘Frankenstein’ (2015), ‘Death House’ (2017), ‘Hell Fest’ (2018), ‘Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen’ (2009), ‘The Flash’ (2015–2023) and ‘Darkseid'(2015–2020).
