Amusan loses female athlete of the year award to Sydney McLaughlin -Levrone
American female hurdler, Sydney McLaughlin -Levrone has won the Athlete of the year defeating Nigeria’s Tobi Amusan and three other nominees in the process. The announcement was made by World Athletics federation. Amusan competed favourable with Jamaica’s Shelly-Ann Fraser-Pryce, Peru’s Kimberly Garcia, and Venezuela’s Yulimar Rojas for the awards but got dusted by Levrone.

Nigeria’s Amusan overtaken by Camacho-Quinn at Diamond League
World record holder Tobi Amusan has been dethroned by Puerto Rico sprinter, Jasmine Camacho-Quinn at the just concluded Diamond League meeting in Lausanne. Camacho-Quinn finished ahead of Amusan with a time of 12.34secs to coast home to victory in the 100m hurdles at the Athletissima Diamond League meeting in Lausanne, Switzerland on Friday.
