    Nigerian singer, Simi has revealed that she met her husband, Adekunle Gold, on Facebook.

    According to the singer, her husband reached out to her on Facebook, but she thought he was a fan as she didn’t reply to his message.

    Simi made these revelations while featuring in a live session on the ‘Tea With Tay’ podcast, which she posted on her Instagram page.

    He used to do this ‘King of Photoshop’ that time’. “He sent me a message on Facebook but I never saw it nor did I reply”.

    Simi declared that her goal is to fight for women’s right to choose whatever they want to do, without being under duress or doing so out of fear.

    “If you want to be the most submissive woman in the world, that’s your choice, or you want to be a slay mama, it’s all for you,” she added.

    A businesswoman, Mrs Halima Damina, on Friday, dragged her husband, Jacob, before a Customary Court in Jikwoyi, FCT, accusing him of throwing her out of their matrimonial home.

    She said this in a divorce petition she filed against him in the court.

    ”Some time ago, I visited my ex-boyfriend’s mother and people lied to my husband that it was my ex-boyfriend that I visited,” she said.

    “When my husband came back home he threw me and my belongings out of the house. I tried to explain things to him but he wouldn’t listen.”

    She told the court that their relatives intervened and tried to reconcile them.

     

    “It is on these grounds that I seek for divorce,” she said.

    The respondent, who is a welder, was present in the court but denied the allegations.

    The trial judge, Thelma Baba, advised the couple to explore reconciliation and adjourned the matter until Jan. 31, for a hearing.

    A lady’s plan to make her husband jealous by hiring another man to send her love messages has backfired and landed her in court.

    This was heard in the Livingstone Local Court, Zambia, recently when Lloyd Lyanukwabalula sued Risford Miyoba for adultery.

    “My wife has saved Miyoba’s number in her phone as ‘Babe’.

    According to Zambia Observer, but Muchindu, Lloyd’s wife told the court that the text messages in her phone were not from her lover.

    “I have been pleading with my husband to stop his illicit affair with this other woman and he said I can also go ahead and have a relationship with another man.

    “So I hired this friend,” Muchindu said. This, however, causes her, her marriage as her husband files for divorce.

    A woman has narrated to the court how her husband removed almost all her teeth with punches then married another wife.

    Mrs Mutiya Sulaimon, gave this narrative against her husband, Aliu Sulaimon, whom she accused of irresponsibility, neglect and constant battery.

    She said: “My husband turned our home into a boxing arena. He punched me regularly and made my life bitter.

    “He deserted me after he removed almost all my teeth with his punches and got married to another woman.”

    These, among others, were the evidence given by a woman, Mutiya Sulaimon, against her husband, Aliu Sulaimon.

    Mutiya sought divorce and custody of their children in a case she brought before Grade A Customary Court, Oja Oba, Ibadan, Oyo State.

    She begged the court to make her husband responsible for the upkeep of their children, giving feeding, education and health care priority.

    Aliu pleaded not guilty to the charges brought against him.

    Mutiya said: “My lord, I never enjoyed a moment of my marriage to my husband.

    “He never showed me love or attention. We were always at loggerheads and would end up fighting.

    “Aliu would sometimes fight and tear my clothes in public, not caring that people were watching.

    “He once beat me to a pulp on the street and pulled off my teeth with his deadly blows.

    “Blood gushed out of my mouth as my teeth flew out and I cried out in pain.

    “I moved to my parents’ house after he beat and almost killed me.

    “My husband refused that I returned to his house after our differences were resolved.

     

    “He distanced himself from everything that has to do with me and our children in other that he might escape the financial demands of our upkeep.

    “Aliu got married to another woman after leaving me almost totally toothless.

    “He completely abandoned his duty towards our children the moment he took another wife.

    “He consistently neglected our children’s education while my parents have been helpful all the way. They have been partly responsible for our children’s feeding and education.

    “I got fed up with his lackadaisical attitude towards our children’s welfare and demanded that he should be up to his responsibility.

    “My husband started giving our children who are presently teenagers N150 each for food per day, and the youngest, N100.

    “Our first child is through with secondary school education and wants to further his education, but my husband has refused to be forthcoming which is one of the reasons I came to court.

    “I pray the court to dissolve our union and grant me custody of our children.

    “I further plead that my husband be made responsible for our children’s welfare.

    “I pray the court to mandate him to give our children a reasonable feeding allowance every month and pay their school fees as and when due.”

    The court president, Mrs. S.M Akintayo, adjourned the case.

    Mr. Raphael Chima, a businessman, on Tuesday dragged his wife, Joy, before a Customary Court in Jikwoyi because she frequently beats him.

    He made the allegation in a divorce petition he filed against her before the court.

    “My wife physically abuses and harasses me. She slaps me at the slightest chance. She abuses me mentally,” he said.

    He also told the court that his wife disrespectful to his parents.

    The petitioner told the court that his wife has long abandoned their child to him, that he has been the only one caring for the child without the help of his wife.

    He prayed the court to grant him the custody of the only child of the marriage and dissolve the marriage between him and his wife.

    The respondent, Joy denied the allegations.

    The presiding judge, Dada Oluwaseyi, advised the couple to explore reconciliation.

    Oluwaseyi adjourned the matter until July 27, for report of settlement or hearing.

    A housewife, Aminat Garba, seeking for dissolution of her marriage, told an Area Court in Ilorin on Monday that her husband, Dauda Garba, has not been taking care of her and their five children.

    The petitioner told the Centre-Ojagboro Area Court that she was tired of her marriage to the respondent due lack of care.

    “He doesn’t feed me and the children, nor cater for us, yet he is endangering my life,” she told the court.

    The respondent, however, told the court that he does not want divorce.

    “I don’t want to divorce my wife, our marriage is blessed with six children, one died, remaining five.

    “I don’t want my children to experience broken home,” he said.

    Garba said that he provides for the family to the best of his ability.

    “My family members had started making moves to talk to my wife for reconciliation and settle our misunderstanding out of court,” he said.

    The presiding judge, Aminullahi AbdulLateef, said that the respondent does not seem to be interested in the marriage as he claimed, considering his manner of speech.

    “The court cannot order the petitioner to love respondent by force, the respondent should be conscious of his manner and attitude towards settlement.

    “But whether the respondent is sincere with the claims for interest in settlement or not, the court is always interested in settlement,” AbdulLateef said.

    The case was adjourned until Sept. 6, for report on settlement.

    21-year-old housewife arrested for allegedly stabbing husband to death

    Police Command Bauchi, has arrested 21 years old housewife, Maimunatu Sulaiman for allegedly stabbing her husband to death at Kofar Dumi, a suburb of  Bauchi metropolis.

    The acting Spokesman of the Command, ASP Aminu Ahmed, stated this in a statement made available to Newsmen on Friday in Bauchi.

    He said the housewife allegedly stabbed her husband with the intention of killing him following an altercation that ensued between them.

    “On receiving the information, Police operatives, led by the Divisional Police Officer, Township Police Division, acted immediately by rushing to the scene of the crime at the address.

    “They took both the victim and the suspect to the Abubakar Tafawa Balewa Teaching Hospital (ATBUTH), Bauchi for medical attention.

    “Consequently, reports obtained from medical doctors confirmed that the victim died as a result of an injury inflicted on his chest, while the suspect sustained minor bruises on her stomach,” Ahmed said.

    He added that preliminary investigation revealed that the suspect (Maimuna Suleiman) stabbed her husband, Aliyu Mohammad at the same address on the 5th of July, 20223 at about 1800 hrs in their matrimonial home.

    “During interrogation, the suspect confessed to having committed the crime,” the statement said.

    ASP Ahmed said the Commissioner of Police, Auwal Mohammad, directed that the case be transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID) for investigation to further unravel the circumstances surrounding the death of the victim.

    A mum living with both her ex-husband and her new girlfriend has shared how they split parenting duties.

    Linda Fruits, 33, from Sunrise, Florida, America, was in a relationship with Christopher Haerting, 36, for eight years before realising she is a lesbian.

    They share sons Elliot, four, and Owen, two – and recently welcomed a new addition into their house. After their relationship came to an end, Linda met now-girlfriend Maddy Gross, 36, and invited her to move into the joint family home.

    The same-sex couple asked Christopher to be their sperm donor – with the three of them welcoming baby Arlo into the world last month. Now, Christopher acts as father alongside the two mothers, forming a three-person parenting team under one roof.

    “Deciding what role we each take on every day with parenting and around the house changes depending on who’s working, who needs a break – and who feels like cooking!” Linda said.

    “We keep things fair between the three of us with open communication and understanding.

    “There being three of us rather than two absolutely helps.

    A divorce-seeking woman, Temilade Rasheed, on Wednesday told a Mapo Grade ‘A’ Customary Court in Ibadan that her husband, Adeboye Rasheed hates her for  giving birth to three girls.

    Temilade in her testimony before the court, while seeking dissolution of her marriage, urged the court to grant her application for divorce.

    ”My in-laws are pushing my estranged husband to leave me for producing three girls and one boy.

    “My lord, Rasheed no longer loves me because I gave birth to three girls. After my girls were born, he threw me like garbage and married another wife.

    “The only one Rasheed caters for is my fourth child, who is a male,” Temilade said.

    The petitioner further stated that her husband has turned her into a punching bag.

    She told the court that he has been responsible for the welfare of the three children.

    Temilade consequently prayed the court to grant her custody of all the children but to order Rasheed to be responsible for their upkeep.

    The Court President, Mrs S.M. Akintayo,  adjourned the suit until May 26 for the respondent to open his defence.

    She said that the only deal breaker for her will be finding out that her man, cheats on her with a fellow man stating that, she “will run.”

    ”For me, cheating is not a deal breaker. My father had 27 wives, my mother didn’t go; I am not saying she was happy, but she didn’t leave.

    “My own deal breaker is if I find out my own partner is sleeping with another man. That is my deal breaker. I will run, they wouldn’t even beg me. I will run,” she said.
