God is as concerned with your physical life as He is with your spiritual. He wants  you to look after your body and nourish it with healthy balanced meals and  regular exercises, just as you take care of your soul by nourishing it with prayers,  fasting and studying His word.

The passage is silent on the nature or form of the thorn in Paul’s flesh. Whatever  it was, it must have been unpleasant, because he pleaded with God to remove  it from him on three occasions. He was desperate to get rid of it.

Arise’ is an action word. It connotes a getting up or a shifting from an original  position and naturally, effort will be required. The paralytic in today’s passage  arose immediately he heard Jesus’ command.

Have you ever considered how oil is gotten from olive seeds? The seeds are  pressed to express the oil. To produce sweet wine, bunches of grape seeds are  put in a big drum and someone steps in to trample on them.

Peter became very hungry and wanted to eat, then he fell into a trance where  he saw a great sheet descending from heaven containing all kinds of four-footed  animals, wild beasts, and birds of the air. Then God told him to rise, kill and eat.

“I’m not good enough”, “My best years are over” “I’m now too old”, “I have  wasted my life”. Do any of these words sound like you? Who says you are not  good enough? Not good enough for what? In the book of Exodus, Moses who  was slow of speech spoke at the highest possible level…

What is your usual reaction when you see others blessed by God, especially in  the areas where you desperately need Him to bless you? Are you genuinely  pleased, or do you resent them inwardly? Do you give God the glory on their  behalf, or do you get bitter and feel God is unfair?
