Popular Nigerian Afrobeat, David Adeleke, better known as Davido, has responded to claims that he was paid $10 million to perform at a royal wedding in India.
The rumor began on Friday, after the 32-year-old singer, via his Instagram page posted clips of his grand arrival to India, to entertain guests at the wedding ceremony of Alkesh Thavrani and his partner Sanya in Udaipur.
In another video posted captured moment, some Indians could be seen showering flower petal flowers on Davido as he joyfully embraced the royal treatment.
However, celebrity blogger, Tunde Ednut, reposted the video claiming that Davido was paid $10 million to perform at the wedding.
In response, Davido took to his Instagram story to playfully ask the groom for the balance of his payment implying he did not receive the figure circulating online.
“@alkeshthavrani where is my balance,” he wrote
In a follow-up post, the award-winning singer wrote: “Received. 2025 go hear am! I need Indian passport”.
