Former Real Madrid attacker Gareth Bale has sought to offer advice to Lionel Messi about his move to MLS.

The Barcelona icon is signing for Inter Miami after leaving PSG this month.

Bale, who played last season with LAFC and won the MLS Cup, said: “It is a lot more chilled (in MLS). If you lose at Real Madrid, it is like the world has ended.

“You are crucified. You feel down. You go home and you’re not happy.

“They accept losing a bit more (in America). There is no consequence. You can’t get relegated over there.

“When you lose a game you go on to the next one. They accept losing a lot better over there.

“They know how to lose but they celebrate every win like you have won the championship. He will definitely enjoy it.”

Serie A: Juventus terminate Higuain contract

Juventus have terminated Gonzalo Higuain’s contract with a year left to run, paving the way for the Argentine striker to make a move to Inter Miami on a two-season deal, Goal reports

The 32-year-old, who arrived in Turin in 2016 as one of the most expensive transfers in football history, has seen the curtain brought down on his career with the Bianconeri as he prepares to switch to Major League Soccer on a contract that will run until 2022.

The former Argentina forward, who announced his international retirement last year, was signed from Napoli following a season where he finished as Serie A’s top scorer and enjoyed a fruitful first two seasons at Allianz Stadium.

But he spent the 2018-19 campaign farmed out first to Milan and then Chelsea after Cristiano Ronaldo arrived from Real Madrid, surprising onlookers who had expected both to star in attack together.

Though he returned to the club last year, reuniting with his former Blues boss Maurizio Sarri, he has not done enough to figure in new coach Andrea Pirlo’s plans going forward, and was thought to be mulling over a number of options surrounding his future.

Now, he looks almost certain to join David Beckham’s expansion side in Florida, having agreed personal terms with the club, with a medical set to follow shortly.

MLS: Beckham in talks to sign James Rodriguez

Inter Miami owner David Beckham has been in contact with Real Madrid president Florentino Perez to explore the possibility of signing James Rodriguez for his new Major League Soccer franchise, Goal reports.

Beckham shares a strong relationship with Perez, with the Blancos supremo having brought the former England captain to the Santiago Bernabeu as one of his ‘Galactico’ signings when securing his signature from Manchester United in 2003.

Indeed, it is understood that Perez is willing to negotiate for Colombia international James, keeping the door open for the sale of a player who has barely featured under the stewardship of Zinedine Zidane.

Sources close to the club have told Goal that Beckham considers the 28-year-old to be a great footballer despite his struggles at Madrid and sees him as the big-ticket signing required to take his fledgling MLS side to the next level in terms of commercialisation.

Signing a player of James’ calibre while still in the peak years of his career would also be seen as a big coup for the US top flight as a whole, with questions still being asked as to whether MLS will ever reach its goal of competing with top European leagues in terms of popularity .

Beckham’s entourage have begun informal talks with James’ people and, while there is still no firm offer on the table, it must be stressed that the Colombian will enter the final year of his contract in the summer and Perez will be reluctant to let him leave for free.
