La Liga: Barca in talks with Lautaro Martinez

Agents for Inter Milan striker Lautaro Martinez are refusing to give up on a deal with Barcelona.

Indeed, Corriere dello Sport says agents for the Argentina international are speaking to Barca directors today. The teleconference is being held as a precursor to the representatives flying to Spain for face-to-face talks.

On the table will not only be the possible departure of Lautaro Martínez from Inter and the offer presented by Barcelona, but also the renewal proposal tabled by the Italian club that, for now, has been rejected by the Argentine.

Personal terms have never been a problem for Lautaro and Barca, the biggest stumbling block has been Inter and their valuation. And this has led to the Catalans seeking out alternatives, including Lyon ace Memphis Depay.

Chelsea place whopping price-tag on Kante

Chelsea have placed a whopping £80million price tag on N’Golo Kante.

The Express reports Inter Milan boss Antonio Conte is desperate to sign the World Cup winner, who he worked with at Stamford Bridge.

But the Serie A club will have to spend big to appease their manager.

Kante struggled with injury this past season, leading to claims Frank Lampard would be happy to part ways.

However, the Blues latest valuation is clearly a deterrent for any potential suitors, especially during the tough financial times caused by COVID-19.

  • Conte unsure of coaching Inter next season after losing Europa Cup to Sevilla

Conte unsure of coaching Inter next season after losing Europa Cup to Sevilla

Inter head coach Antonio Conte has said that he may not be at San Siro next term.

The former Juventus and Chelsea boss enjoyed an excellent debut season with the Nerazzurri, which saw them push the Turin giants in Serie A before finishing second while they were also Europa League runners-up.

Speaking after 3-2 loss to Sevilla in the Europa League final on Friday, Conte suggested that it might have been his last game in charge of the club.

“We’re going to meet next week with the club and we’ll decide about my future. I’m not sure that I’ll be the Inter manager next season, we’ll decide together,” he told Sky Sport Italia . “Inter will plan the future with or without me.”

Conte’s future has been in doubt since the conclusion of the Serie A campaign earlier this month, after which he launched a scathing attack on the club’s directors.

“I don’t think the work of the players has been recognised and I don’t think my work has been recognised,” he said.

“We all received very little protection from the club, absolutely zero.

“I don’t like it when people jump on the bandwagon – they have to be there in the good times as well as the bad and here at Inter it wasn’t like that, I’m sorry to say.

“We have to grow and improve in all areas, including off the field, and a big club should protect its players more.”

After Friday’s game in Cologne, Inter president Steven Zhang did little to ease fears over the future of the 51-year-old.

“He and his staff, together with the players and all the other members of the club are doing a great job,” he told Sky Sport Italia .

“Now the players and the staff will rest, because they deserve it, and then we will plan for the future.

“We want to improve next season. The balance of this season is very positive. We are on a path that has allowed us to get to the final.

“All of us, on and off the pitch, are doing a great job and are heading in the right direction.

“Winning or losing is part of football, but getting to the final makes us optimistic for the future.”

Chelsea left-back agrees terms with Inter Milan

Chelsea left-back Emerson has reportedly agreed personal terms with Inter Milan.

Frank Lampard is happy for the Italy international to be sold this summer in order to raise funds for other transfers.

And Calciomercato says Emerson has moved one step closer to joining the Serie A club.

The former Roma man has agreed a five-year with the Nerazzurri.

Chelsea want at least £22.6m (€25m) for the 26-year-old, but it is believed a deal worth £18.1m plus bonuses could get it done.

Inter Milan draw up €500m for Messi contract

Inter Milan’s Chinese owners are putting together a massive budget to bring Lionel Messi to Italy this summer.

Now inside the final year of his current contract, talks over a new deal between Messi and Barcelona have been suspended. Nothing is expected to resume until after Barca’s Champions League campaign concludes.

In the meantime, Inter owners Suning are convinced they can tempt Messi to Milan in the coming months. The superstar’s father, Jorge, has only just moved to the city.

Corriere della Sera says Suning are putting together a massive €500 MILLION three-year contract package to bring the Argentine to Inter.

Inter are in contact with Messi’s camp and have been encouraged that he hasn’t ruled anything out at this stage.

Inter plot bank busting contract offer for Messi

Inter Milan are planning a bank busting contract offer for Barcelona captain Lionel Messi.

The Argentine is in the midst of a frosty rift with Barcelona chiefs and the Serie A side look set to try and take advantage of the feud with a “2021 assault”.

Gazzetta dello Sport says Messi’s deal runs out next summer and the Italians hope to lure him away from the Nou Camp with a mega money deal.

Inter’s majority shareholders Suning Group Holdings reportedly believe they can stump up the dough to prise Messi away from the Nou Camp and to the San Siro next season.

A Bola also report Inter will offer a three-year deal worth £45.5million-a-year.

It also emerged yesterday Messi’s dad and agent Jorge has splashed out some cash on a plush new pad in the Italian capital Milan.

He is said to be pulling the strings of his son’s potential switch to the Nerazzuri next season.

Inter on red alert as Messi buying a house in Milan

Milan’s clubs are on red alert with the father of Barcelona star Lionel Messi buying a house in the city.

Jorge Messi, reports Gazzetta dello Sport, is purchasing a house in the Porta Nuova district in Milan with plans to move to Italy this year.

Messi has long been a target for Inter Milan and his father’s relocation plans has sparked fresh talk of the Barca captain following him to Italy. By moving to Serie A, Messi would find more favourable tax conditions as a footballer when compared to Spain.

Earlier this month Marco Tronchetti, the chief exec of Inter’s sponsors Pirelli, declared they’d be willing to help the club fund a move for Messi.

Tronchetti saids that while Pirelli can’t make “significant” investment with ongoing financial uncertainty posed by the coronavirus crisis, the firm could certainly aid the cause in going after Messi – but warned that club chief Steven Zhang had to “make an effort”.

“Honestly, at a time like this, we’re unable to invest in sports more than we are, between Formula 1, the America’s Cup and Inter,” he told Gr Parlamento.

“We have to ask Steven Zhang to make an effort himself. We can help, but we can’t do anything significant.”

Messi’s current deal with Barca expires in less than 12 months’ time

Lautaro Martinez decides on Barca move

Lautaro Martinez has vowed to continue “giving 110 per cent” for Inter and repay the confidence shown in him by Antonio Conte as speculation over a move to Barcelona gathers pace.

The Argentina international has been strongly tipped to swap San Siro for Camp Nou at the end of the season, two years after joining the Italian giants from Racing Club.

“I am a boy who always fights – for my goals, for those of the team, for the happiness of the fans,” he said in Inter’s matchday programme ahead of Wednesday’s clash with Fiorentina. “I always try to give 110 per cent for this club, for all the people who love it, for the Inter shirt.”

Martinez scored 16 goals in all competitions prior to the campaign being halted in March by the coronavirus pandemic but has netted only twice in 10 games since last month’s restart.

Conte has repeatedly defended Martinez’s form and the 22-year-old is grateful to have the full support of his head coach.

“Conte has given me confidence,” he said. “That is a very important and fundamental thing, because he worked on the mentality of each of us. I really appreciate it, every day he makes us grow.”

Inter Milan ready to buy Man Utd flop for €20m

Inter are considering turning Alexis Sanchez’s loan switch from Manchester United into a permanent move as they look at securing a €20 million (£18m/$22m) cut-price deal.

According to Goal, the Chile international will stay with Antonio Conte’s side until the beginning of August, with a loan extension having been agreed to allow him to see out the remainder of the 2019-20 campaign in Italy’s top flight.

Sanchez was due to return to Old Trafford on June 30 and although an agreement has been reached to prolong his stay at San Siro, he will not be allowed to feature in the Europa League mini-knockout tournament, should Inter advance.

  • Antonio Conte plans triple transfer raid on Chelsea

Antonio Conte plans triple transfer raid on Chelsea

Inter Milan boss Antonio Conte is being linked with a TRIPLE transfer raid on former club Chelsea.

Gazzetta dello Sport says at present Marcos Alonso and Emerson Palmieri are Chelsea’s two natural left-backs but Cezar Azpilicueta has been played their on occasion by manager Frank Lampard who is unconvinced by the latter pair.

Now Inter Milan boss Conte – who brought Alonso and Palmieri to Stamford Bridge – is interested in signing them.

He is also being linked with a move for striker Olivier Giroud, another one of his signings at Chelsea.

Should Conte step up his interest in Alonso or Palmieri, Lampard is expected to move for Leicester City left-back Ben Chilwell.
