Super Cup: Juve must stay calm against Inter Milan – Chiellini

Juventus captain Giorgio Chiellini says they must hold their nerve against Inter Milan in tonight’s Super Cup.

Juve go into the final on the back of victory against Roma on Sunday.

“We must be balanced, a victory like the one against Roma can boost our self-confidence and adrenaline,” said Chiellini.

“We must improve and work hard with humility and confidence. We know that details can make the difference.

“Inter have technical quality, they are physically strong and score many goals from set pieces.

“We disconnect too often during games, there are situations that should never happen, like against Roma when we conceded one or two goals in five minutes in the second half.”

Chiellini also commented on Cristiano Ronaldo’s departure in August.

He continued: “Cristiano used to hide some problems that we had. He was an important player. With a top player like him, it’s easier not to see problems.

“I expected a difficult season after his exit, but we are almost the same team as last season, with Locatelli and Kean and without Cristiano.

“We can reach our targets with hard work, but we should never feel inferior and not burn mental energies, which is something we were not accustomed to doing anymore. That’s the most difficult thing.”

AC Milan legend Marcel Desailly can see Inter Milan achieving more in Europe in the coming years than Juventus during their successful cycle.

Deailly feels Inter are now the dominant club in Serie A.

He explained, “Juve monopolized Serie A for nine years and killed the ambitions of the other teams.

“Now a cycle has ended and Inter have returned, but with the desire to be more able to compete in Europe.

“Milan are trying to recover to the level they fell from, even if they have disappointed in the Champions League. They are intriguing, but still struggle to keep their best players.”

Dimarco said: “Romelu did very important things here, however Inter were not just Lukaku and they are showing that with new players like Dzeko and Correa who have done very well so far.

“I’ve always believed in this team, even when we were seven points behind Milan and Napoli.”

On the prospect of signing a new deal, Dimarco added: “I prefer to stay focused on the pitch and not distract myself from the things that matter. I can’t wait to sign it.”

“Christian wants to keep training in Milan, because that is where he and his family live, but Italy is the only country in which he is officially banned from practicing sport with an implanted defibrillator,” agent Martin Schoots told Ekstra Bladet.

“He is not even allowed to go into a gym to train there. However, he feels great, all the feedback we got from physical tests are very positive. There’s no reason not to dream or hope.”

He added: “There are already four clubs who have asked for information on Christian’s situation. And yes, I can confirm a Danish side is among them.”

Super Eagles striker makes me lose sleep – Italy legend

Former Inter Milan striker Sandro Mazzola has confessed he “loses sleep” whenever Super Eagles star Victor Osimhen touches the ball.

The Napoli frontman has been in great form for the Parthenopeans in Serie A this campaign, managing to score five goals from 10 appearances.

On Sunday, Napoli will look to extend their 12-match unbeaten run when they take on Inter Milan in a top-flight fixture at San Siro Stadium.

According to the Italian legend Mazzola, Inter should be wary of the threat posed by the former Lille forward.

“There is that centre-forward there, Victor [Osimhen], who is really strong. It makes me lose sleep. Every time he touches the ball he manages to amaze me; it’s surprising,” Mazzola told Kiss Kiss Napoli as quoted by notizie-inter.it.

Inter chief blasts Lukaku: You joined Chelsea to double your salary

Inter Milan Chief Executive Officer, Giuseppe Marotta, has hit out at Chelsea striker, Romelu Lukaku, over his departure from the Serie A champions.

Moratta said that Lukaku left Inter for Chelsea to double his salary.

According to him, there was no difference between Lukaku and Edin Dzeko, whom Inter signed for free to replace the Belgium international in the summer transfer window.

Recall that Chelsea re-signed Lukaku from Inter in the summer transfer window for a club-record £97 million.

The 28-year-old scored on his debut for Chelsea against Arsenal and then netted a brace against Aston Villa.

But Lukaku has since failed to find the back of the net in the Premier League.

Speaking to Il Corriere Della Sera, Marotta hit out at Lukaku for leaving Inter Milan for money.

“Lukaku was sold for €115m and we bought Dzeko for free. On the pitch, there is not much difference.

“Lukaku left to double his salary. In Italy, these figures can’t exist.

“Today, we can’t make important investments, I would not be allowed to sign Lukaku for €75m. We need reduced and specific investments.”
