When Iyanya won Project Fame West Africa, everyone taught it was going to translate into instant success in the Nigerian music industry. Little did he know that he will have to wait for another 2 years, in order to finally become a star in the real sense of the word.

The multiple award winning singer who is currently signed to the Don Jazzy led Mavin Records has said artistes from the ‘Streets’ do better than reality show winners. He noted that most reality show winners lose focus and move on to other things after their victory.

In his words:” Honestly, I feel like some guys on the street are doing their thing better than reality show winners. I am actually not hearing from most reality show winners after winning the event; instead, people are delving into movies after winning.

“Once they win, the next thing is to see them on one soap opera.’ Even me, after I won project fame, it took me two years before finally getting it right. Not like I didn’t drop songs during those period but nobody knew me’. Most of them don’t get the breakthrough because thats not what they want to be. Only the guys who knows what they wanted becomes big later. I wont lie to you, I am not interested in most of the present shows anymore. I don’t even know what most of them are doing anymore”.

  • People think I am not happy with Ubi Franklin’s success- Iyanya

When Iyanya parted ways with his erstwhile business partner, Ubi Franklin, there were a myriad of reports that all is not well between them. Both parties have posted Instagram and Twitter messages that many have misconstrued.

In a recent Interview, the Your Waist singer has debunked such claims. He stressed that all he has for Tekno and Ubi is love.

In his words:” Why would people think that I’m not happy with Ubi’s success? It doesn’t make any sense. People just feel that whatever I tweet is directed at Ubi, and that whatever he says online is directed at me.

“That’s not so. We have all moved on with our lives. I do not fear anybody so if I want to talk about anybody, I would tag the person. If I don’t tag anybody in my social media posts, that means it’s just a general post and I’m not talking to anybody. People should just let it go. Sometimes, I post things because of what I heard or about life in general. I’ve got nothing but love for Ubi and Tekno right now.”

According to her:”For your official information, yes, I have been engaged for 15-months, and in those 15-months that I’ve been engaged, I have been dating my sweetheart for 16-months. So, do the Maths: we’ve been dating for 16-months and out of those 16-months we’ve been engaged for 15months, so please leave me to be doing my dating, because there are some people who have been dating for 5-years, while some have been dating for 13-months and they will still marry after those 13-months, right now, nobody should tell me nonsense, because right now I’m still dating my partner. I don’t have to copy the trend in the society, there are lots of things I still need to learn in the society; when it is time to marry I will marry, I don’t have to get engaged and marry immediately”, she retorted.

I think it’s about meeting the right person.

When asked about what his mum taught him, the suave sexy dude said:”One of the things she taught me was humility. She taught me so much, but all of them put together in one word is humility, because I saw her live a humble life. So, I am not surprised that he has finally made it. I believe this is just the beginning and there are many more things to come his way. When he came to Triple MG, he sprayed his hair gold and anytime I wanted to call him, I referred to him as golden boy.

“I am very happy he is doing great things. How would I be envious of somebody that Ubi Franklin and I raised from our platform? We used our platform to promote him and I cannot be envious of him; there is no need for that. People would always try to say negative things but we are very fine “he said in an interview with Punch.
