85 percent of Women want to leave their marriages – Jaiye Kuti

Nollywood actress, Jaiye Kuti, has said that 85 percent of women want to leave their marriages.

Jaiye Kuti thespian during an interview with Gistzlife said she had even attempted to leave her marriage thrice, stressing that cultural differences have been a major factor in why most couples struggle in their marriage.

“If you ask a hundred women, 85% want to exit their marriage. I even tried to leave thrice. The problem is that when you marry someone from a different culture, people start to reveal their actual selves. A man would treat and pamper a woman when he wanted to get married, but when a second marriage and kids are involved, things go too far. Men can also have egoistical tendencies and are unstoppable when it comes to cheating.”

TB Joshua’s spirit visited me after he died – Kuti

Nigerian actress, Jaiye Kuti has said that the late founder of the Synagogue Church of All Nations (SCOAN), Temitope Balogun Joshua appeared to her in spirit shortly after he passed away.

Kuti, who recounted her encounter on her Instagram page, claimed she had never seen the Nigerian televangelist.

According to her, the cleric’s spirit visited her at home in Offa, Kwara State, the same night he died.

She claimed that her head was swollen and she saw a gentle pass of him, praying that God rests his soul in peace.

Alongside a picture of TB Joshua, she wrote, “I have never met you one on one but your spirit visited me when you died. I was in Offa alone in my room. My head was swollen and I saw a gentle pass of Him. There was something good about that soul.

”Christ was poor but feeding the people and taking care of everyone. You did the same to many. I know 2 people who truly gave their lives to Christ through Him. May the Good Lord rest your soul in peace. Pastor T.B. Joshua.” She added.

Meanwhile, late Temitope Joshua’s family on Monday said the deceased will be buried on July 9, 2021, at his church in Lagos.

Jaiye Kuti reacts to rumoured affair with Pasuma

Veteran actress, Jaiye Kuti has opened up on her rumoured affair with Fuji artiste, Pasuma. The role interpreter said she was shocked when she heard the viral rumour that she was married to popular fuji artiste, Wasiu Alabi, aka Pasuma.

Kuti made this known as a guest at Inspire Nigeria Summit, a virtual summit held to motivate young Nigerians.

On how she reacts to rumours being spread about her, the actress said, “There was a time I shot a movie with Pasuma. We had a wedding (in the movie) and the pictures were out there. The next thing I saw in the press was that ‘Jaiye Kuti marries Pasuma’. People did not even go to the body of the story to read what was actually there. They just saw the headline and concluded that I had really married Pasuma. When one wants to be great in life, people would say bad things about one. People could say things that could kill one instantly. The beauty of it is that one has one’s legs and one can keep going.

“People that are spreading rumours about one won’t grow. I have heard shocking stories about me. Some people said I gave birth to Mayowa and Temitope Kuti and their father was Pasuma. I don’t have the time to start explaining to everybody that we were only making a movie. I don’t explain things to people. When they greet me, they tell me to extend greetings to Pasuma, and I tell them that I will. When last did I see Pasuma? He was paid to work and he left. Rumours are part of what we live on. It is part of what makes us what we are. One has to be strong to take it. It is like an arrow shot at one. One should not let it kill one; rather, one has to keep going.”

  • It is unacceptable to say actresses don’t have morals- Jaiye Kuti

Sensational actress, Jaiye Kuti, has debunked the notion that actresses are immoral people.

According to her :”That is not true. I am part of the industry and I have friends there as well. It is totally unacceptable to say that actresses don’t have morals. We have people that are of good moral standing.

” However, a lot of people that came from nowhere all in the name of wanting to be actresses, are now there. So, doves have been mixed with chickens. Some of these people (that engage in immoral acts) were not even part of us originally.

I crossed over from English movies to acting in Yoruba films, yet I still had to go and meet the elders to formally tell them that I wanted to be part of them. I did that so anybody wouldn’t ask me where I was coming from. It’s just unfortunate that some people with questionable characters have joined the industry and we don’t know where they came from. But, when such people start to misbehave, the public categorises everybody as one but we are not”,she told Punch.

  • There is a limit to how I kiss in movies- Jaiye Kuti

Sensational actress, Jaiye Kuti has stated that there is a limit to how far she can interpret a romantic role. The actress who appears mostly in Yoruba movies said there is a limit to how much she can touch or kiss in a movie.

“For now, there is nothing I cannot do (in movies) but the limit is if I have to act some serious romantic movies where I have to exchange wet kisses and I would have to pull off my clothes for a man to sleep on me, I cannot go to that extent. There is a limit to how much we have to kiss or touch one another because the reality is I am somebody’s wife and the co-actor is probably somebody’s husband”, she told Punch.

Kuti also condemned actresses that often took their fights to social media. She stated, “I think it is immature for some of them. There have been times that we called some of these people together and talked to them. We have also raised the issue at our (industry) meetings and we told everyone (present) that anytime anyone has issues against their colleague, the best place to deal with it is not on social media. Putting such issues on the Internet can be very ridiculous and it is telling badly on all celebrities. It is not just the people involved that would bear the brunt; it is also affecting some of us that know nothing about those issues. It is not that people don’t insult or fight me too but I have just decided to keep calm. I guess many of them cannot stand someone abusing them, so they decide to talk back. But that is not the best way to express oneself.”

  • I don’t take nonsense-Jaiye Kuti

Nollywood actress, Jaiye Kuti has over the years earned several accolades in the Nigerian film industry.

Many believe she is not different from the roles she plays in movies

In a chat with Punch, the beautiful actress debunked the claim.

“Yes, I am a very strict person. I don’t take nonsense and I don’t give nonsense. I like people who are honest and truthful to a level. I treat people well as human beings and I try to be upright with them. But when people try to take advantage of me, I don’t accept it. However, I am not as tough as I appear in movies. I have children and I have been able to, by the grace of God, raise them properly. If you ask the people in my house, they would tell you that I don’t take nonsense.”

She also noted that gone were the days Yoruba actors work for free on the sets of their colleagues.

“That happened way back. It does not happen like that again. No one has ever called me to feature on a movie for free because we’re friends. Gone are the days when that happened. We all have responsibilities and if you keep working for free, how do you make headway? You need every movie to pay for your bread and butter. I pay whoever I invite to work with me and I expect the same treatment. These days, there are several producers from different places. Some of them are just investors who want to make money from their investments,” she said.

  • Yes! I kiss in movies- Jaiye Kuti declares

Beautiful, elegant and glamorous are the words that come to mind when you think of Jaiye Kuti. Over the years, the actress has carved a niche for herself in the Yoruba movie industry.

Despite being married, the sensational actress doesn’t have qualms about kissing in movies.

Hear her: “Yes I kiss in movies, but not tongue to tongue or French kiss. Do you want to send me out of my husband’s house? Let me tell you something, if I should do a tongue to tongue with anybody, it would be with someone I can have an affair with naturally because I won’t even kiss you if you are not up-to the standard of somebody I can date. But I won’t do a tongue to tongue kiss because I have my own rules and regulations”.

Jaiye believes it is God’s grace that has kept her in marriage, adding that is not easy.

“For me, it is God’s grace that has kept mine because it is not easy for us as artistes, especially females, to stay in a man’s house. When you love this job and you are asked to pick between your husband and this job you will say it is this job oh! This job has a demon in it that once you are in love with it you can’t leave it. It would give you so much joy that you will think your husband cannot live up to give you that happiness. But as for me I will say that I am just lucky because if I am to be asked now if I can leave this job for my family, ah, I will beg my husband oh! Don’t even say it because I won’t know how to leave this job honestly”.
