    Nigerian Midfielder, Echegini joins Paris Saint-Germain

    Super Falcons midfielder, Jennifer Echegini has completed her move to French clubside, Paris Saint-Germain.

    The Midfieder put pen to paper on a three year-deal for the clubside.

    It would be recalled the player announced her departure from Italian club, Juventus on Tuesday.

    The 23-year-old scored 10 goals and made one assist in 16 appearances for Juventus last season.

    “I am experiencing a great moment in my career today. Signing for Paris Saint-Germain is a huge source of pride. I am very proud to join a club that is recognized around the world for its ambition and excellence,” Echegini told the club’s official website.

    ” I can’t wait to get started and I can’t wait to give the best of myself to try to win, with my teammates and for the supporters, as many trophies as possible. ”

    Echegini is currently on international duty with Nigeria.

    The Super Falcons set up camp in Sevilla, Spain last week ahead of the 2024 Olympic Games to be hosted in Paris, France.

    Juventus sign 22-year-old Nigerian player

    Italian clubside, Juventus FC  have announced the signing of Super Falcons midfielder, Jennifer Echegini.

    Echegini made the move to the Juventus female team  from American outfit, Florida State Seminoles.

    The 22-year-old signed a contract until June 30, 2026.

    The Nigerian has been assigned jersey number 26.

    Recall that Echegini was part of Super Falcons squad to the 2023 FIFA Women’s World Cup.

    The talented midfielder was born in the Netherlands and raised in England.

    She will join her new teammates as soon as the move is completed.

    The Nigerian is expected to play for Nigeria when the WAFCON kickstart in Morocco later in the year.

    Int’l Friendly: Ebi, Oparanozie score as Super Falcons thrash New Zealand 3-0

    Nigeria’s super Falcons defeated their New Zealander Counterpart by 3-0 in a friendly encounter in preparation for the World Cup in Australia and New Zealand  few weeks time.

    Captain Onone Ebi, Jennifer Echegini and Desire Oparanozie were all on target as the Super Falcons extended their winning run to three games.

    Initially, both teams flexed  muscled with attacking and counter-attacking moves to the admiration of the spectators.

    However, the Nigerian ladies had the last laugh.

    The first chance of the game, however, fell to Nigeria but Esther Okoronkwo failed to direct Asisat Oshoala’s cross from a free-kick on target.

    Goalkeeper Chiamaka Nnadozie produced a superb save to deny the Ferns on 20 minutes.

    Rasheed Ajibade nearly gave the Super Falcons the lead a minute later but she shot wide from inside the box.

    The Ferns were unrelenting with their attacking play and Echegini made a last-ditch tackle to deny them two minutes before the half-hour mark.

    The Super Falcons responded with Oshoala having a goal-bound effort deflected for a corner on 32 minutes.

    The breakthrough came a minute later with Ebi nodding home Toni Payne’s cross.

    The Super Falcons maintained the lead for the remainder of the first half.

    Echegini tapped home the second goal four minutes after the break.

    Randy Waldrum’s side took total control of the game afterwards passing the ball around with confidence.

    Substitute Oparanozie completed the rout by netting the third deep into stoppage time.
