The clergyman made the declaration during a recent interview with Chude Jideonwo where he  explained that he didn’t get into ministry for personal or financial gains contrary to what some may want to believe.

He called on God to kill him and shut down his ministry if he ever became a professional pastor.Although Pastor Jerry didn’t define who a professional pastor is, other comments he made in the course of the interview suggests he might be referring to clergymen who are in ministry for their selfish interest.

“I’m not a professional pastor, the day I become a professional pastor, let God kill me,” Pastor Jerry declared, adding that “The day it ceases to be about God and be about Jerry let God close down everything.”

Speaking further, Pastor Jerry said he didn’t set out in ministry to attain the level of success he’s currently enjoying, rather he was only following God’s call.

He said, “I didn’t plan to be here, this is not something you plan that at some point you’re going to be big and the world will hear of you.

“I know what my assignment is, I know what God has called me to do, and it has consumed me.”

On what motivates him, Pastor Jerry disclosed that the smiles and testimonies from his congregation are his motivation.

“I don’t care what anybody thinks or feels but the encouragement is when I see those smiles and hear those testimonies,” Pastor Jerry said.

The clergyman rose to prominence after launching the online prayer platform, New Season Prayers and Prophetic Declarations (NSPPD) in 2020 at the start of the COVID-19 pandemic.

Founder of Streams of Joy International, Pastor Jerry Eze, has narrated in details how his daily online prayer session, New Season Prophetic Prayers and Declarations (NSPPD), saved him from a near plane crash.

Eze, while speaking during a recent church gathering, recalled the experience, revealing that before his plane took, he felt a strong nudge from the Holy Spirit to pray.

“Saturday morning after NSPPD prayer conference in Lagos, we got on a flight and as soon as we got on the flight coming back, before we even took off, I just requested to see the pilot.

“The air hostess walked up to me and said, ‘Papa, you are not comfortable.’ I said, ‘My spirit is not accepting this pilot.’ I said, no problem, let’s go. Of course, everybody was tired. But for some reason, the spirit of God said, ‘begin to pray,’ and I kept praying, I wasn’t sleeping,” he said.

According to the pastor, the aircraft had trouble landing and started moving uncontrollably before a loud sound was heard.

“They said it was a crash landing. When we came out of the plane, we found out that all the tires of the plane had busted. But every one of us came out, nothing missing, nothing broken. If you saw the picture of the plane, all the tires had busted,” he added.

“I think Pastors should stop building hotels or opening hotels built by people because 95% of hotel users are there for fornication and adultery and it contradict Christian values.

“So Pastors should rethink hotel investments, considering the high percentage of users engaging in immoral activities. When a pastor goes to commission a hotel , he prays for more customers to patronize the hotel so the hotel can grow bigger and bigger.
