I have €70m EPL offer for Ansu Fati – Agent tells Barca

Super agent Jorge Mendes has told Barcelona he has an offer from the Premier League for Ansu Fati.

Mendes took charge of Fati’s affairs last year and has been in contact with several major English clubs this season about Fati’s situation.

Barca would be willing to sell the Spain international as they seek to meet La Liga’s Financial Fair Play.

Mundo Deportivo says Mendes has assured Barca’s board that he has a €70m Premier League offer for his client. The 20-year-old does not want to leave, but the decision could be taken out of his hands given Barca’s financial situation.

Mendes has been speaking with Manchester United, Manchester City, Liverpool, and Chelsea in recent weeks.

The agent of Manchester United defender Diogo Dalot has offered him to Barcelona.

Agent Jorge Mendes is developing closer ties to Barca and has held several meetings with the club’s hierarchy this season.

Mundo Deportivo says knowing Barca are seeking a fullback signing, Mendes has raised the prospect of moving for Dalot.

The Portugal international is off contract at United in June.

However, United will be unconcerned by Mendes’ move as they hold a 12 month option in Dalot’s contract.

REVEALED: Why Man Utd keeper De Gea split with agent Mendes

Manchester United goalkeeper David de Gea ended his relationship with agent Jorge Mendes three years ago.

De Gea signed his latest contract at Old Trafford in September 2019.

The negotiations were long and drawn out before De Gea eventually signed on the dotted line for a deal until 2023 worth £375,000 per week.

But The Athletic says the Spaniard got rid of superagent Mendes during the negotiations.

De Gea, 31, was said to have an agreement to work with Mendes’ Gestifute agency – but there was no legal contract.

United had offered the wages De Gea wanted but Mendes reportedly kept trying to add extra clauses and bonuses.

So when then-executive vice-chairman Ed Woodward saw De Gea at Carrington and asked what else he wanted, the goalkeeper was unsure what Woodward meant.

They went to his office and De Gea looked over the contract offer for himself – then signed it the very next day.

The intermediary listed on the FA documentation is Jose Bouzas Aragon, De Gea’s family lawyer, and there is no mention of Mendes.

De Gea and Mendes – who includes Cristiano Ronaldo, Darwin Nunez, and Bernardo Silva on his long list of clients – have not worked together since.

  • Cristiano Ronaldo is not for sale – Man Utd tells Chelsea boss

Cristiano Ronaldo has been told he is not for sale after Chelsea owner, Todd Boehly, reportedly spoke with the Manchester United forward’s agent Jorge Mendes, talks which have left Old Trafford senior management furious.

Chelsea made a shocking move for Ronaldo after Chelsea owner was said to have held talks with agent Jorge Mendes.

The 37-year-old is entering the final year of his contract with Manchester United and according to The Athletic, Ronaldo is concerned about the club not matching his ambition in the transfer window after a disappointing season.

It’s claimed that new Chelsea owner Boehly held talk with Mendes in Portugal, with Ronaldo’s future and a potential move to Stamford Bridge one of the subjects discussed.

Manchester United plan on keeping their star man and it is largely expected that he will remain at the club he loves, while it is not clear whether Chelsea will make a serious move for the striker.

In a relative story, Manchester United could end up missing out on their number summer transfer target.

That’s according to a recent report from Spanish outlet Cadena SER, who claim midfielder Frenkie De Jong is refusing to quit Barcelona.

Understood to be at the very top of Erik ten Hag’s summer wishlist, De Jong’s proposed move to Old Trafford has been viewed as integral to how the beginning of the Dutchman’s reign will play out.

However, with talks continuing for days and no real progress yet to be made, the United faithful have been left to sweat on the Netherlands international’s final decision, and these latest reports suggest the playmaker may have turned down the chance to move to the Premier League.

Manchester United could be plunged almost £1bn into debt by their plans to redevelop Old Trafford.

In another development, Arsenal and Manchester United have been told Lisandro Martinez will cost them £42m after meeting with representatives of the Ajax defender in London.

Chelsea has been told unequivocally that England midfielder Declan Rice will not be leaving West Ham this summer.

Sevilla has told Chelsea they have until July 5 to close any deal to sign long-term defensive target Jules Kounde or forget about bringing him to Stamford Bridge.

Tottenham has stepped up their efforts to sign Everton striker Richarlison but the Goodison Park club reportedly wants much more than the £50m previously suggested.

Arsenal will make a new offer for Leeds forward Raphinha after their initial £30m proposal was rejected, but are unlikely to go as high as the Elland Road side’s £65m valuations.

West Brom are leading the chase for Wales striker Tom Lawrence who will be available for free at the end of the month when his Derby County contract expires.

Middlesbrough are refusing to lower their asking price of £15m plus add-ons for Djed Spence and expects the Tottenham target to return for pre-season training in a fortnight.

Bournemouth are planning to make a £1m offer for Blackpool winger Josh Bowler despite having a January bid of around £3m rejected by the Championship club.

Conor Hourihane has been left in limbo after Wayne Rooney’s shock departure from Derby County, where he had been expected to sign a three-year deal to sign on a free transfer.

Sheffield United have made a £3m move for Malmo central defender Anel Ahemdhodzic but will face competition for his signature from Blackburn Rovers.

Meanwhile, Howard Webb is set to take over from Mike Riley as the Premier League’s chief refereeing officer and could be in the role by the end of the year as he remains under contract with MLS.

  • Jorge Mendes in England for crisis talks with Ronaldo

Jorge Mendes in England for crisis talks with Ronaldo

Super agent Jorge Mendes is in England for crisis talks with Manchester United striker Cristiano Ronaldo.

Ronaldo, 36, has scored 14 goals in 21 appearances since heading back for a second spell at United in the summer.

Yet his impressive form in front of goal has not propelled the Red Devils towards a Premier League title challenge.

The Sun says Ronaldo fears his dream Old Trafford homecoming could end in disaster.

It is believed Mendes, the player’s long-time agent, recently flew over to sit down with his client and discuss his concerns about United’s troubled state.

The former Real Madrid and Juventus man is understood to be frustrated with the team’s recent performances, while he has become disillusioned with Ralf Rangnick’s style of play.

A source said: “Cristiano is very concerned about what is happening at United. The team is receiving a lot of criticism and he knows he is regarded as one of the leaders.

“There are quite a lot of problems and Cristiano is feeling the pressure and is very stressed by the situation.

“He desperately wants his United move to be a success, but he is starting to recognise that winning trophies with the current set up could be a real struggle.

“Jorge came to see him and they spent time chatting through how things are going, what they think are the problems, how they might be solved and what the solutions may be. Nothing has been ruled out.”

  • Jorge Mendes addresses Ronaldo Man Utd exit talk

Jorge Mendes addresses Ronaldo Man Utd exit talk

Cristiano Ronaldo agent, Jorge Mendes denies he’s seeking a move away from Manchester United.

Reports have suggested Ronaldo is unhappy at the club, and is eyeing up another move away after some pundits have suggested the 36-year-old has been the root of United’s problems this season.

His statistics would suggest otherwise though, having scored 14 goals in all competitions so far this campaign, including six in the Champions League.

A return to Real Madrid has been mooted, but Ronaldo’s agent has dismissed suggestions his client is looking to move away from United.

“Cristiano Ronaldo is very happy at Man United,” agent Jorge Mendes told Sky Sports.

“He’s going to continue with his solid, great performances as always in his career. It’s going to be a great season for him, I’m sure.”a

  • Ronaldo never deserved Ballon d’Or more than this year – Mendes

Ronaldo never deserved Ballon d’Or more than this year – Mendes

Super agent Jorge Mendes insists Manchester United striker Cristiano Ronaldo should win this year’s Ballon d’Or.

Ronaldo is among the 30 nominees for the award.

Mendes told L’Equipe: “The numbers of Cristiano Ronaldo speak for him and should be enough to win another Ballon d’Or. The absolutely remarkable record of 115 goals for the Portuguese national team makes him the absolute record holder in the history of world football.

“This year, he beat a record of 15 years, to which he is joined by the best scorer in the history of world football (794). This, which is the greatest achievement in football history, should be decisive in the attribution of the trophy because he continues to demonstrate that he is, without a doubt, the best player ever in the history of world football.

“It’s true that it’s an individual trophy, but let’s not forget that Cristiano Ronaldo was the top scorer in the demanding Italian league, he was the top scorer at the last European (being the best scorer in the history of the competition), he holds the record for top scorer in the Champions League, is the only player in the world who has won everything in three different countries (championship, cup, super cup, best player, top scorer), with maximum competitiveness as in England, Italy and Spain – but with an absolutely unique regularity and with a commitment and a capacity to overcome.

“From my point of view, the Ballon d’Or has a name: Cristiano Ronaldo. He has never so deserved the Ballon d’Or.”
