Juliet Ibrahim laments high cost of living in Ghana, says she spends N72,000 to fuel her car weekly

Ghanaian actress, Juliet Ibrahim, has lamented the high inflation rate and cost of living in Ghana, saying she has been spending so much to fuel her car on a weekly basis.

The beautiful actress made this known via a post on her verified Twitter page where she described Ghana as the most expensivewest Africa  country to live in at the moment.

Her post reads “Ghana most expensive West African country right now.”

She stated that the amount she spent weekly on fuel was more expensive than what will be spent in the United States or Nigeria.

She tweeted, “Ghana is officially the most expensive West African country right now! No joke! Someone driving a car of 3.0 / 3.5 fills their fuel tank to use within 5-7 days with fuel worth 1300/1400 cedis.

“Currently, $100 = 1,400 cedis. Even in the USA, to fuel the same type of car can and will NEVER cost that much! Yet we are all going through the same economic crisis.

“$100 = 1400 cedis; 1400 cedis = 72,000 Naira. Is there any Nigerian on my timeline that spends 72,000 Naira to fuel his car and use it for a period of five to seven days?

Using half-caste to describe someone is derogatory –Juliet Ibrahim

Popular actress, Juliet Ibrahim has shared her frustration about people who use the word half-caste to describe adding that it is derogatory.

Ibrahim was born in Liberia to a Lebanese father and a Liberian mother making her mixed race, which people also called half-caste

Baring her mind on the issue, Ibrahim said:”I had a random conversation the other day with someone and it was appalling when he mentioned passively to me that he doesn’t see me as a #Blackwoman! He argued, you are not “black enough” your skin isn’t dark enough, your hair not kinky enough. And thus my siblings and I do not “count” as Black,” she wrote.

“Now this is exactly, what we are fighting to correct amongst ourselves and the world at large. I am a black woman! When I’m abroad amongst the whites, I am classified and recognized as a black woman, however, right amongst us Africans, I’ll be referred to as a Half-Caste! This is the most derogatory term to describe a person of mixed race or mixed ethnicity.”

“We are referred to as mixed-race or multi-racial! Mixed race people are no less black than their dark-skinned counterparts. So, let’s all say NO to RACISM, TRIBALISM, COLORISM, and SEGREGATION. Let’s teach and train our children to grow up and accept people for who they are and not by the color of their skin.”
