She said when she got to the country’s capital, she was told she had been “bought” and would have to work as a prostitute to repay 1.5 million CFA francs.

She said, “I met someone who introduced traveling to Mali to me. She said she knows someone who owns a pharmacy and asked if I could travel there to handle the business.

“I agreed but didn’t inform anyone at home. We travelled by road for four days through Cotonou, Togo, Ghana, and other countries.

“When I got to Bamako in Mali, I called the contact I was given. When I got to the person’s house, she said she is my madam and that she bought me from my sister. She said I’ll work to pay her 1.5 million CFA francs.

“I was very confused and tried to confirm if I was at the right address. She said I was there for prostitution. I told her I can’t do it and would rather die. She threatened me and I told she’s free to do whatever she wants.”

Adeola said for refusing to comply, she was stripped of her phone and travel documents, leaving her stranded.

She said she was later taken to a brothel but managed to escape after meeting a sympathetic man who helped her secure a job with a food vendor.

We later went to where we would stay. When we got there I knew I wouldn’t be able to survive. I told her I can’t work as a prostitute but I can do other jobs to pay her. She took my phone and travel documents,” she added.

“But I met a man there and explained my ordeal to him. He helped me in finding a job with a food seller in another location.

“While working as a food seller there I heard stories and saw Nigerians who died because of prostitution.

“I wanted to raise some money so I could come back home and I didn’t want to return home empty. I thought about calling my mum and kids but I couldn’t call because I felt ashamed of myself.

“I left home since four years and have nothing to show for it. I was suffering but didn’t know what to do. I even told my roommate to not post me on social media if I die.

“I don’t know how good my mum is before God that made him save me from all the evil that was about to befall me in Mali.”

How sex for role led to my 14-year absence from acting – Nollywood actress spills

Veteran Nollywood actress, Jumoke George has disclosed that her refusal to exchange sex for roles led to her 14-year absence from the film industry.

The thespian in a recent episode of Oyinmomo TV, also revealed that her that movie directors often complained about her dark skin tone, suggesting she should bleach her skin.

The actress who returned to acting some years ago recounted an incident where a director told her she was being blacklisted for refusing to sleep with them.

She said, “My skin tone was not the only setback I encountered in this business. The other reason why I did not get any roles or see the back of a lens for 14 years is because I refused to sleep around. For my skin tone, they complained that I was too dark and I would tell them to add my lightning to the scene to make me look lighter.

“You cannot push me into something I do not want to do. I will glow with this skin till old age and do not forget, black does not crack.  I started having issues with getting roles when the executives wanted a relationship in exchange for it. The pressure was getting immense and it was more than 20 to 30 people.

“Another thing was that if you dated one of them, broke up, and went ahead to date someone else, they would discuss you among themselves. I said to myself that as long as God exists, I would not find myself in such a space. I had to do so to avoid becoming a pass-around among them.

“I did not get any acting roles for about three years, I did not understand what was happening. One day I was at Feminine Cafe at LTV 8, and I met one of our directors, I would not mention his name. I asked him what happened that he did not call me for roles, and he asked me ‘Jummy, you want to feature in movies?’.

“He then told me that their group of directors decided not to call me roles and I was like why? He said it was because I was refusing to sleep with them… he also asked me what was the benefit of my refusing their advances. I just started crying and he walked out. When I got home, I prayed to God to take control.“

The actress took to her Instagram page on Friday to caution women risking their lives for unnecessary cosmetic procedures.

Questioning the rational behind undergoing a BBL surgery, the movie star asked if it’s solely to impress men or its something more than that.

“Are you doing it just because of pe**s or what? Are you not beautiful enough?” George asked women.

The actress who highlighted the potential health risks associated with BBL, urged women to appreciate their natural beauty, created in God’s image.

She said, “Women, what is the colour of our problem? Because if I say I understand I am lying. The scripture says every creature was made in the image of God the most high.

“You females looking at me whose image do you think you were created? Are you telling God that He does not know what He was doing? God is perfect. What then are we looking for? God has given some long life but they intentionally cut off their lives.

“What exactly are you looking for in doing BBL? You just want to enlarge your buttocks… Are you not beautiful enough? If any man tells you that you are not beautiful enough and go enhance what God has given you or recreate yourself, tell him he is not in his right senses.

“You hear news about ladies going for BBL and losing their lives. Something that people like me who has it is even feeling it like a weight. Because when it gets to a stage it contributes to knee issues. Hardly will you see someone with big butt that would not have knee problem.

“Stop all these BBL thing. Go and rest. I know some people will listen while others will not. But it saddens my heart.”
