EPL: Jurgen Klopp speaks on his next move after Liverpool

Former Liverpool Manager, Jurgen Klopp has claimed he may not likely  continue as a manager elsewhere  after ending his eight-and-a-half year reign at Liverpool.

According to the 56-year-old German, he feels “empty” after the emotional strain of his final months in charge at Anfield.

Recall that Liverpool beat Wolves 2-0 at home to finish in third-place in the Premier League.

“I don’t know exactly why nobody believes I probably will not be a manager again,” Klopp said in his post-match news conference at Anfield.

“But I understand because obviously it seems to be a drug — it looks like that because everybody comes back and everyone works until they are 70-something.

“I always had the idea that I will not do that that long.

EPL: See man who will replace Jurgen Klopp at Liverpool

Liverpool have reached an agreement with Feyenoord on Friday for gaffer, Arne Slot to replace Jurgen Klopp as manager, according to report from British media.

The reports stated further that a compensation package for the 45-year-old Dutch manager who had two years left on his contract, has now been agreed.

It was gathered that the deal is worth up to £9.4 million (10.9 million euros).

Slot had said Thursday that he was “confident” of landing the Anfield job.

“I would like to go to Liverpool. Now I’m waiting to see whether the clubs reach an agreement. I’m very confident in that,” he told reporters.

Slot moved to Feyenoord in 2021 after impressing in his first managerial role at AZ Alkmaar.

He led the Dutch giants to the inaugural Europa Conference League final at the end of his first season, in which they narrowly lost 1-0 to Jose Mourinho’s Roma.

Slot then delivered just a second league title in 24 years to De Kuip last season before penning a new three-year deal.

Klopp will step down at the end of this season after a nine-year reign which brought the Champions League title in 2019 and Premier League trophy a year later.

“I like the way his team plays football. If he is the one, I like that he wants it,” Klopp told reporters on Friday when asked to highlight Slot’s qualities.

“I don’t know him, but some people who know him say he’s a good guy. I like that a lot. So good coach, good guy. Looking forward for the club, if he is the solution, if he is the man, I’m more than happy.

“It’s the best job in the world, best club in the world. Great job, great team, fantastic people. A really interesting job.”

Feyenoord are currently second in the Eredivisie table, with PSV Eindhoven nine points clear at the top.

Failing to win the Dutch title would be a disappointment for Slot, mirroring Klopp’s frustration at Liverpool’s own faltering title bid.

Liverpool are in third place in the Premier League, three points behind leaders Arsenal and two adrift of second-placed Manchester City.

City have a game in hand on both Arsenal and Liverpool, who look to have blown their chance after defeats against Crystal Palace and Everton.

Skipper Virgil van Dijk has finally spoken about Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp’s imminent departure from Anfield at the end of the season.

According to VVD, more people, including assistant manager Pepijn Linders, will leave Liverpool and not only Klopp.

According to him, it would be very difficult and “emotional” for hi

“I am quite emotional and I always find it very difficult to say goodbye to people, which will certainly be the case now,” Van Dijk said via Tribal Football.

“It is not only the manager who is leaving the club. It is more people. Pepijn is a really important figure in the dressing room and I could go on and on. I am not looking forward to saying goodbye at all, but we still have the chance to win more trophies together,” he added.

BREAKING: Jurgen Klopp, assistants quit Liverpool

Jürgen Klopp has announced his decision to step down as Liverpool manager at the end of the current season, having informed the club’s ownership of his wish to leave his position when the 2023-24 campaign comes to a close.

TheNewsGuru.com (TNG) reports Liverpool’s assistant managers, Pepijn Lijnders and Peter Krawietz, as well as elite development coach Vitor Matos, will also vacate their positions at the end of the season.

After guiding the Reds to another Wembley final on Wednesday night, the 56-year-old will continue to oversee the team’s remaining fixtures of 2023-24 before bringing the curtain down on a glorious eight-and-a-half-year managerial reign at Anfield, which has seen the club win six major trophies under his guidance to date.

Assistant managers Pepijn Lijnders and Peter Krawietz, as well as elite development coach Vitor Matos, will also vacate their positions at the end of the season, with Lijnders keen to pursue his own career in management.

Confirming his decision to Liverpoolfc.com, Klopp outlined the reasons behind it and the timing of today’s announcement, placing particular emphasis on the need for clarity at the earliest opportunity in order to create the conditions for an orderly transition to take place in due course.

He said: “I can understand that it’s a shock for a lot of people in this moment, when you hear it for the first time, but obviously I can explain it – or at least try to explain it.

“I love absolutely everything about this club, I love everything about the city, I love everything about our supporters, I love the team, I love the staff. I love everything. But that I still take this decision shows you that I am convinced it is the one I have to take.

“It is that I am, how can I say it, running out of energy. I have no problem now, obviously, I knew it already for longer that I will have to announce it at one point, but I am absolutely fine now. I know that I cannot do the job again and again and again and again.

“After the years we had together and after all the time we spent together and after all the things we went through together, the respect grew for you, the love grew for you and the least I owe you is the truth – and that is the truth.”

Klopp was appointed as Liverpool manager on October 8, 2015. It was a decision that would revolutionise the club and establish it as a force at home and abroad once more.

Under his stewardship, Liverpool have lifted the UEFA Champions League, Premier League, FIFA Club World Cup, FA Cup, League Cup and UEFA Super Cup, as well as the FA Community Shield.

Klopp added: “I told the club already in November. I have to explain a little bit that maybe the job I do people see from the outside, I’m on the touchline and in training sessions and stuff like this, but the majority of all the things happen around these kind of things. That means a season starts and you plan pretty much the next season already.

“When we sat there together talking about potential signings, the next summer camp and can we go wherever, the thought came up, ‘I am not sure I am here then anymore’ and I was surprised myself by that. I obviously start thinking about it.

“It didn’t start [then], but of course last season was kind of a super-difficult season and there were moments when at other clubs probably the decision would have been, ‘Come on, thank you very much for everything but probably we should split here, or end it here.’ That didn’t happen here, obviously.

“For me it was super, super, super-important that I can help to bring this team back onto the rails. It was all I was thinking about. When I realised pretty early that happened, it’s a really good team with massive potential and a super age group, super characters and all that, then I could start thinking about myself again and that was the outcome. It is not what I want to [do], it is just what I think is 100 per cent right.”

With five months still left to play of the current campaign, the Reds remain involved in four competitions – and while there are still trophies left to chase, Klopp will ensure any goodbyes are put firmly on hold until his final game in charge of Liverpool Football Club in May.

He said: “We will have a moment, maybe the last matchday here or somewhere else – I mean in other countries or other competitions. There’s enough time to do these kinds of things. Let’s now really go for it. The outside world want to use this decision, laugh about it, want to disturb us.

“We are Liverpool, we went through harder things together. And you went through harder things before me. Let’s make a strength of it. That would be really cool. Let’s squeeze everything out of this season and have another thing to smile about when we look back in the future.”

Responding to the news, Fenway Sports Group president Mike Gordon underlined the collective determination for a “business as usual” approach until the conclusion of Klopp’s tenure while also highlighting the scale of his ongoing impact upon Liverpool.

He said: “First and foremost, on behalf of John Henry and Tom Werner, I would like to state our profound appreciation for Jürgen. It goes without saying that we will be hugely saddened to lose not just a manager of such calibre, but a person and leader for whom we have enormous respect, gratitude and affection. At the same time, we fully respect his wishes and the reasons why he has decided the current season will be his last at Liverpool.

“In keeping with Jürgen’s expressed wishes, we will save the comprehensive tributes for a more appropriate time but nevertheless, we would be remiss if we did not take this opportunity to reaffirm that his appointment remains one of the greatest blessings of our time as owners.

“The incredible achievements of the intervening years speak for themselves, so too does the joy that Jürgen and his team have brought to all of us supporters. His many accomplishments will never be taken for granted. To appropriate an adage synonymous with another Liverpool managerial great, Jürgen Klopp ‘made the people happy’ and we have total confidence he will continue to do so until his eventual departure.

“It is testament to Jürgen’s unstinting professionalism and ongoing commitment to the best interests of Liverpool FC that his decision was arrived at in a way which allows for business as usual to be maintained for the remainder of his tenure while simultaneously creating an opportunity for us to prepare for the future.

“Our priority now is two-fold. First, to ensure that the progress that has been made on the pitch this season is maintained in the final months of the campaign. Second, to continue the due diligence behind the scenes which will allow our football operations department to adapt to a future without Jürgen. As ever, these ambitions will be pursued in the best interests of the club and its supporters and we will update fans as and when significant developments are made.

“Finally, I would like to take this opportunity to place on record our gratitude to Jürgen for everything he has done and continues to do for Liverpool Football Club. Thank you, Jürgen. When the time comes, you will never walk alone.”

Klopp praises Salah as forward reaches 200 goals in EPL

Liverpool talisman, Mohamed Salah, received high praise from his manager, Jurgen Klopp after reaching yet another milestone in Sunday’s 3-0 victory over Brentford.

The win for Liverpool propelled them into second spot in the English Premier League (EPL).

The 31-year-old Egyptian scored in each half to reach 200 goals in English soccer – 198 for Liverpool and two for Chelsea.

He also became the first player ever to score in each of Liverpool’s first six home games of the season.

“Crazy,” Klopp said marvelling about Salah, who Liverpool reportedly received a 150 million pounds (183.33 million dollars) bid for from Al-Ittihad in the last transfer window.

“Goal number 200 in England, right? Exceptional, played a super game today.

“Two players always around him, he kept the ball.

“We had so many good moments first half.
“The composure for the first goal is insane. No doubt in that area, you see it on the scoresheet. Special player,” Klopp added.

Liverpool have yet to lose at their Anfield fortress this season in all competitions, winning their sixth successive league game there on Sunday.

But while Klopp was thrilled with the performance he had strong words for the schedulers who have pencilled in their next game against leaders Manchester City.

They take on the hosts in a 12.30 p.m. kick-off encounter at the Etihad on Nov. 25, right after the international break.

“How can you put the Man City game on at 12.30 p.m.?” he asked reporters after the game. “These people don’t know football.

“There could be a moment when these two teams have 30 international players, we pick up the South Americans on one plane to arrive here.”

Klopp was happy with his team’s bounce-back after their 3-2 loss at Toulouse in the Europa League group stage on Thursday.

“I’m very pleased to use that opportunity … to lose against Toulouse and then react in the way we did today,” he said.

Liverpool manager, Jurgen Klopp expresses shock as Mane pitches tent with Al Nassr

Liverpool manager, Jurgen Klopp has expressed shock over Sadio Mane’s transfer to Saudi Pro League side, Al Nassr FC.

Klopp is surprise at Mane’s decision to join  Al Nassr after just a year at German side, Bayern Munich.

Mane left Anfield last summer after seven years to sign for the Bundesliga giants.

Bayern paid around £34million for the Senegal winger, who had just won two trophies for the Reds, finishing runners-up in the Premier League and finalists in the Champions League.

However, Mane’s single season turned into a nightmare as Bayern switched managers, and he had a public bust-up with team-mate Leroy Sane.

Mane has now put pen-to-paper on a £650,000-a-week deal with Al Nassr.

“I don’t know what went wrong [at Bayern].

“When he left us, he left us on a high in really good shape, a world class player.

“New environment, new expectations maybe. I didn’t speak to Sadio about it,” Klopp said.

EPL: FA bans Jurgen Klopp for two games over comments on Referee Tierney

For his comment against center referee, Paul Tierney in the match Liverpool versus Tottenham Hotspurs at Anfield, Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp has been given a two-match touchline suspension by the Football Association.

Tottenham came back from 3-0 down to equalize Liverpool 3-3 before Diogo Jota scored a dying Minute winner to secure all three points for the Reds.

The ban will see Klopp miss the Reds‘ final home game of the season against Aston Villa, with the second game suspended until the end of next season.

The FA’s verdict levied Klopp with a two-match ban, but the second match of said ban is suspended on the condition that the manager can avoid any further breaches of the FA’s Rule E3 through the end of the upcoming 2023-24 season.

If Klopp avoids any further charges through the end of next season, then, he will only be sidelined for Saturday’s game. If he faces a similar charge next season, the second game of the touchline ban will automatically kick in.

The Liverpool manager was also fined £75k as part of the ruling, which will mean assistant Pepijn Lijnders is on charge in the bench for Saturday’s afternoon kickoff as this team say their goodbyes to the Anfield faithful.

Jurgen Klopp will not be on the sideline when Liverpool face already relegated Southampton on the last match day of the season.

EPL: Klopp hails Salah after Liverpool’s win over Brentford

Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp hailed Mohamed Salah after the Egyptian striker’s winner against Brentford on Saturday set a number of milestones.

The win kept the Reds in the hunt for UEFA Champions League football next season.

Salah struck from close range in the 13th minute to score for the ninth home game in a row, making it to 30 goals this season.

It was also a century of goals for the Egyptian at Liverpool’s iconic stadium since he joined from Italian Serie A side AS Roma in 2017.

“I think as an offensive player, you need to have this desire to score goals, but a lot of people forget how many goals he sets up.

“So, he’s just always, very, very often involved in the goals,” Klopp told reporters after Liverpool’s 1-0 English Premier League (EPL) win.

“A lot of other players don’t appreciate people enough when they are still playing, and for us, it’s clear he’s an all-time great,” Klopp added.

His side are fifth on the table and still in with an outside chance of making it to the UEFA Champions League next season.

They need to keep winning just in case anyone above them slips up.

“It’s probably a little bit more exciting than a few teams wanted for us. It’s good that we could get into that region of the table again.

“But we have to make sure that we keep (an eye on) the teams behind us … nothing is decided,” the Liverpool manager said as the season approaches its climax.

“We have three games to go and then, finally, a bit of a longer break, which is very helpful.

“You could see that today —– Brentford had a full week in between their games. We played three days ago.

“It’s a massive difference, especially in the latter stages of the game, (but) the boys got through it, and I’m really happy about it,” Klopp said.

  • EPL: Klopp speaks on replacing Salah as Liverpool’s penalty taker

Liverpool manager, Jurgen Klopp has revealed his plans to take Salah off penalty duties after he missed two crucial penalties for Liverpool this season.

Salah missed a penalty in the 2-2 draw against Arsenal and also missed one in their 1-0 loss against Bournemouth few weeks back,

Klopp, speaking after the game at Anfield, confirmed he will hold talks with Salah.

Although the Egyptian pulled one back after Gabriel Martinelli and Gabriel Jesus had given the Gunners a two-goal lead, he failed to hit the back of the net from the spot in the 54th minute.

Roberto Firmino spared Salah’s blushes with a late equaliser.

Klopp has now suggested Salah could relinquish the responsibility of stepping up after he missed his second penalty in the space of a few weeks.

“He missed the goal. So that’s why for a second the fist, and then I realised, ‘Oh, Mo isn’t celebrating.’ And then I realised the ball wasn’t it. That’s it,” Klopp said.

When pushed on whether or not he could decide to strip Salah of penalty duties, Klopp added: “That’s something we will talk about but not here.”
