Inter more serious about Europe than Juve – Desailly

AC Milan legend Marcel Desailly can see Inter Milan achieving more in Europe in the coming years than Juventus during their successful cycle.

Deailly feels Inter are now the dominant club in Serie A.

He explained, “Juve monopolized Serie A for nine years and killed the ambitions of the other teams.

“Now a cycle has ended and Inter have returned, but with the desire to be more able to compete in Europe.

“Milan are trying to recover to the level they fell from, even if they have disappointed in the Champions League. They are intriguing, but still struggle to keep their best players.”

Serie A: Allegri in real danger at Juve – Cassano

Antonio Cassano believes Juventus coach Max Allegri could be under pressure after their 1-1 draw with Venezia.

Juve continue to struggle for consistency this season under Allegri.

“On the market, one average Juventus player is worth all 25 of Venezia’s. And I’m not talking about Dybala or de Ligt,” said the retired striker during his regular appearance with Bobo TV.

“I would put these words in the conference in all the classes for the children to see.

“But be careful, this situation is hurting Allegri really badly. He is trying to keep doing like he has always done, without getting help from anyone. So he is really in danger of being sent packing.”

  • Chiesa drops big online Chelsea transfer hint

Chiesa drops big online Chelsea transfer hint

Juventus star Fede Chiesa has dropped an online hint that a move to Chelsea is on.

Chiesa, who played a pivotal role in Italy’s Euro 2020 triumph, has been linked with Thomas Tuchel’s side on numerous occasions over the past few months.

It’s been reported that the Blues are plotting an £83million swoop for the 24-year-old – who netted the winner against them back in September’s Champions League clash.

And Chiesa has fuelled talk of a move with his social media activity, reports the Daily Express.

The attacker is now following Chelsea’s official account, as well as five Blues players: Christian Pulisic, Mateo Kovacic, Saul Niguez, Kai Havertz, and N’Golo Kante. Chiesa is also following Chelsea’s ex-talisman Eden Hazard.

Serie A: Awful stats for Juventus in Atalanta defeat

Juventus lost at home to Atalanta for a fifth defeat in 14 league matches leaving them in eighth in Serie A.

Duvan Zapata’s 28th-minute winner stretched the visitors’ unbeaten run to eight matches as they stayed fourth, four points behind leaders Napoli and seven points ahead of Juventus.

The hosts failed to threaten much, with Paulo Dybala’s late free-kick hitting the crossbar.

The victory was Atalanta’s first at Juventus since 1989.

Massimiliano Allegri’s side have now only scored 18 goals in their 14 league matches, the lowest total in Serie A’s top 10, and the loss follows their 4-0 defeat at Chelsea in the Champions League in midweek.

  • Transfer: Chelsea consider €100m move for Juve star

Transfer: Chelsea consider €100m move for Juve star

Premier League leader Chelsea are lining up a move for Juventus attacker Federico Chiesa.

Calciomercato.com says Thomas Tuchel is an admirer of the forward and could get backed by chief Marina Granovskaia as they attempt to lure the Italian to west London.

Chiesa caught the eye of big European clubs over the summer after putting in some exceptional performances for Italy which saw him make the Team of The Tournament as they went on to win Euro 2020.

He is widely admired for his explosiveness, versatility and the ability to use both feet to high efficiency. He has scored three goals and assisted three in 15 games this season.

The likes of Bayern Munich and Chelsea have shown interest in Chiesa and it now appears the Blues could make their move. Tuchel’s side are weighing up an £84m (€100m) move for the 24-year-old.

UCL: Chelsea thrash Juventus to reach last 16

Reigning champions Chelsea progressed to the last 16 of the Champions League with an impressive win against Juventus at Stamford Bridge.

Trevor Chalobah, who was making his first European start for the Blues, scored the opener when he slammed home a loose ball following a corner after 25 minutes.

Chelsea were dominant throughout and got the second goal their performance deserved when Reece James controlled a clearance and volleyed across Wojciech Szczesny into the far corner eight minutes into the second half.

A third soon followed with Juventus looking shell-shocked and all at sea defensively as a short, sharp interchange of passes gave Callum Hudson-Odoi the chance to slot home at the back post.

The scoring was completed when Hakim Ziyech capitalised on a mistake from Juve midfielder Weston McKennie to cross for Timo Werner to tap home in added time.

It is the Italian club’s heaviest defeat in the Champions League and demonstrated Chelsea’s status as a serious contender to retain the trophy they won against Premier League rivals Manchester City in May.

The three points send Chelsea to the top of Group H but they must match Juventus’ result in the final matchday on 8 December – when they travel to Zenit St Petersburg and the Turin club host Malmo – in order to stay there.

The only concern for Thomas Tuchel and Chelsea were the withdrawals of N’Golo Kante in the first half and Ben Chilwell in the second period through injury, with the Blues set to face Manchester United on Sunday.

  • Harry Redknapp urges Conte to sign Juventus captain

Harry Redknapp urges Conte to sign Juventus captain

Former Tottenham boss Harry Redknapp says Antonio Conte should move for Juventus captain Giorgio Chiellini.

He wrote for The Sun: “Antonio Conte may be all smiles at the minute but he’ll have no problem ruffling a few feathers to get Tottenham back on the straight and narrow.

“And if I were Conte, the first thing I’d be doing is telling Daniel Levy there is another Italian who should be joining him in North London as soon as possible.

“Over the next few weeks, no doubt, we’ll see a list of the supposed big-name targets he wants when the transfer window opens.

“I doubt very much if 37-year-old Giorgio Chiellini will be on it but, for me, he’s the one man the new Spurs manager should move Heaven and Earth to bring to London with him.

“I know they’d hardly be signing someone for the long term, but in terms of sorting them out immediately, there would be no one better.

“And we saw once again on Thursday against Vitesse Arnhem – hardly one of Europe’s big guns – how badly Spurs need someone to take command of that defence.”

UCL: Juve midfielder reveals squad talks before Zenith win

Juventus midfielder Manuel Locatelli was delighted with victory over Zenit.

The win sees Juve qualify from their Champions League group.

“We told each other that we must be strong players before that strong men,” Locatelli told Sky Italia.

“We played really well and we must continue, following what coach Allegri says. We must give everything as we did tonight.

“We are the first ones to be aware when we don’t play well. We want to give everything for the fans now.”

I told Allegri not to go back to Juve – Capello

Former Juventus coach Fabio Capello admits he urged Max Allegri to turn down a return to Turin.

Allegri has found a team at Juve beset with problems.

“I told him that he would have become the scapegoat for all problems,” Capello told Radio Anch’io.

“I told him not to return. Juventus have a winning DNA, but right now, you can’t see it.

“Players are not doing what they should. Everybody thinks it’s the coach’s fault, but it’s not like this, it’s not easy to turn the situation around.”

  • Serie A: Juve drop to ninth after Hellas Verona defeat

Serie A: Juve drop to ninth after Hellas Verona defeat

Juventus dropped to ninth in Serie A as Verona condemned Massimiliano Allegri’s side to a fourth league defeat of the season.

Giovanni Simeone scored twice in three minutes to give the hosts a 2-0 lead.

Weston McKennie reduced the arrears with 10 minutes remaining, but there was to be no late reprieve for the visitors.

The result lifts Verona above Juventus, who trail joint leaders Napoli and AC Milan by 13 points.

Allegri’s team managed just four efforts on target throughout the 90 minutes, although they did hit the crossbar through Paulo Dybala in the first half.

Napoli can consolidate first place at Salernitana on Sunday, while Milan travel to fourth-placed Roma later that evening.
