Bayern can’t match Chelsea spending power for Havertz – Hoeness

Bayern Munich powerbroker Uli Hoeness says they couldn’t compete with Chelsea for Bayer Leverkusen ace Kai Havertz this summer.

Hoeness admitted earlier this year Bayern were keen on signing the midfielder, who is now expected to join Chelsea.

He explained to Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung: “I am sure that there will be no major transfers after (Leroy) Sané this year. This has nothing to do with Havertz’s quality. We all think he’s a very, very good player.

“But in the corona period after making a transfer of just under 50 million, making one of 70, 80 million or more without secured counter-financing through player sales, I can’t imagine it…”

Leverkusen upset with Chelsea chief negotiating tactics for Havertz

Bayer Leverkusen are concerned with the negotiating tactics of Chelsea managing director Marina Granovskaia over their move for Kai Havertz.

The Daily Mail says Granovskaia has sensationally been accused of espionage after reportedly asking her network of agents to find potential weaknesses in Bayer Leverkusen’s hierarchy as she tries to bring down the cost of signing Havertz.

BILD reports Granovskaia is trying to discover any potential flaws within the Leverkusen negotiating team in order to make the deal better for the Blues.

It is claimed Granovskaia has asked ‘several German player consultants’ about information on Rudi Voller and Fernando Carro, who will be at the forefront of negotiations for the Bundesliga side.

Granovskaia has a reputation for her fierce negotiating skills, proven by the way she handled Eden Hazard’s departure to Real Madrid last summer.

Bayer Leverkusen teammates are urging Kai Havertz to resist a move away to Chelsea.

Havertz has reportedly agreed personal terms with Chelsea so negotiations are now ongoing between the west London club and Leverkusen over a transfer fee.

Meanwhile, the German international has returned to training as his Bundesliga outfit prepare for the postponed second leg of their Europa League Round-of-16 tie against Rangers next month.

And Leverkusen midfielder Nadiem Amiri has admitted that Havertz’s impending transfer has been attracting some attention in the dressing room, although the squad would prefer to focus on their upcoming match.

Amiri told SPORT1: “We don’t want to talk about it at all.

“In training we are very relaxed, nobody would go there and speak to him and ask ‘What are you doing now?’

“The boy is concerned with that himself.

“I hope he makes the right decision.

“There are always a few jokes and a few things said. But we need Kai! We also have to leave his head alone.”

Well done Chelsea on signing Kai Havertz – Sane

Bayern Munich signing Leroy Sane has declared Kai Havertz is on his way to Chelsea.

Bayer Leverkusen star Havertz is subject of negotiations with Chelsea over a summer move.

Former Manchester City winger Sane was asked why German players are so in-demand in the Premier League with Timo Werner having already signed for the Blues this summer.

And Sane replied: “I think Germany has always had very good young German players.

“Many young players get their chance and develop well in the Bundesliga. I think that with Werner and Havertz, two Germans in one year, Chelsea did a good job.”

The transfer fee is expected to be in the region of £90million with £63million being paid up front and the rest coming in add-ons.

Chelsea owner Roman Abramovich has made Bayer Leverkusen ace Kai Havertz their top summer transfer target.

BILD says chief transfer negotiator Marina Granovskaia has been ordered to seal a deal for the 21-year-old by Abramovich.

Chelsea have made Havertz their absolute top priority.

The Blues are expected to make contact with Leverkusen this week to thrash out a deal with reports personal terms have already been reached with the player.

Havertz is keen to make a switch to Stamford Bridge even if Frank Lampard’s side don’t make it into the Champions League.

And Petr Cech is expected to meet the midfielder for talks as well to put the final touches on the deal.

The report claims a deal could be struck for €70m (£63m) plus another €30m (£27m) in bonuses.

Sell me to Chelsea, Havertz tells Leverkusen

Bayer Leverkusen midfielder Kai Havertz is priortising a move to Chelsea this summer.

Kicker says Havertz has decided his next move and wants to move to Stamford Bridge, despite doubts over their Champions League qualification for next season.

The midfielder has informed Bayer of his wish, though has been warned Chelsea must cough up big for him to be sold.

Bayer chief Rudi Voller is said to have told Havertz face-to-face: “There are no discounts linked to the health situation”.

As such, Bayer are demanding €100m to sell Havertz this summer. However, with the market not closing until October 5, Chelsea are expected to bide their time in negotiations knowing Havertz’s choice.

Rudiger speaking with Havertz about Chelsea move

Chelsea defender Toni Rudiger is in contact with Bayer Leverkusen midfielder Kai Havertz about a move to Stamford Bridge.

Havertz, rated at £90million, is the Blues’ top remaining summer target after they landed £53m striker Timo Werner from RB Leipzig and Ajax wizard Hakim Ziyech for £37m.

Bild journalist Christian Falk claims “agent Rudi is on a new mission”.

He added in a tweet: “True: @ToniRuediger is in contact with Havertz since a couple of weeks and tries to convince him.”

The 21-year-old already has seven full caps, having also provided 17 goals and nine assists for fifth-placed Bundesliga side Leverkusen this season.

Rudiger has admitted he spoke with Werner before he agreed to join Chelsea last month.

Chelsea seeking £20M discount on Havertz price

Chelsea will be seeking a £20m discount on the price for wantaway Bayer Leverkusen star Kai Havertz.

ESPN says the attacking midfielder will be forced to leave his current side if he wants to play in the Champions League after they slipped to a fifth-placed finish in the table, and he has now outlined his favoured destination.

Having picked Chelsea, director Marina Granovskaia might not have to match his £90m asking price.

The fact that Havertz has made his desire to move to London clear, the club are hoping to only part with £70m for his services.

Real Madrid have not shown willingness to make a formal offer, and that Bayern Munich have already pulled out of the running.

  • Chelsea in pole position to sign €100m Kai Havertz

Chelsea in pole position to sign €100m Kai Havertz

Premier League side Chelsea are in pole position to sign Bayer Leverkusen star Kai Havertz.

According to Goal, a number of rival suitors were put off by the €100 million (£90m/$112m) price tag being placed on him this summer.

The effects of the coronavirus pandemic on club finances across the European football landscape means few clubs can match the resources at Stamford Bridge this summer and, as such, it has left them leading the race for the 21-year-old.

Havertz, however, wants to play Champions League football at his next club, and Frank Lampard’s side are yet to confirm their place in the competition for next season.

They currently sit fourth in the Premier League table, two points clear of fifth-placed Manchester United and five clear of Wolves in sixth with five matches of the campaign to play.

Should a club meet his valuation, then Leverkusen will agree to sell Havertz.
