    Take your first SALARY to your father not to your Pastor – Kanayo O. Kanayo  

    Veteran actor, Kanayo O. Kanayo has said that first salaries should go to fathers for blessings in line with culture and not to pastors.

    The actor used his son as an example to buttress his opinion in an Instagram post recently.

    Few days ago, the actor shared that his son, Clinton Onyeze had come on set to join him as an intern worker.

    They completed the movie and his son was paid N50k which Kanayo collected N500 from and prayed over the money and his son.

    Although, he revealed that the money the parent might collect from the son can vary based on different individuals.

    The veteran actor believes that this is the more proper way to do things, especially in the Igbo culture.

    He wrote:

    “Take your first SALARY to your father for his blessings NOT TO YOUR PASTOR.

    And to that Pastor who said it belongs to him in a video in January, did you ever consider, the feeding/ transportation to and fro the office for that month? Where is this in the Bible?

    CHRISTIANS WAKE UP. This is not Christianity.”

    Nigerian veteran actor, Kanayo O. Kanayo has proudly unveiled his firstborn, Clinton Onyeze, as he embarks on his journey in the Nollywood realm.

    Prior to the commencement of a film production, the esteemed actor took a moment to address the crew and formally introduce his son to everyone, assigning him the roles of Assistant Production Manager and Personal Assistant.

    In order to maintain professionalism, Kanayo O. Kanayo emphasized the significance of treating his son as an equal member of the crew, refraining from any preferential treatment.

    It was made clear that Clinton would receive compensation for his contributions.

    The actor further revealed that his son had recently completed his studies at Babcock University and was currently working to gain practical experience in the fields of filmmaking and management.

    Kanayo O. Kanayo encouraged his colleagues and followers to extend similar opportunities to their own children, fostering a deeper understanding and admiration for the industry.

    In his words: We resumed filming today. My son, Clinton, Onyeze Mbaise, joins us as Assistant Production Manager & my Personal Assistant. He is an intern to understudy Film making and Management before proceeding for further studies. We should let our children work in our organisations or other establishments to appreciate industry. Kudos Onyeze. Welcome on board Simpliciter Associates Productions”.

    Popular  Nollywood actor, Kanayo O. Kanayo has advised his followers on the need to look out for those they grew up together with.

    The actor who is currently on holiday in his hometown, shared a video of himself alongside some kinsmen.

    He  disclosed that one of the men was his partner during their early hustle days, recalling how they dug pit toilets for people.

    The veteran actor emphasised the need for individuals to always look out for people they grew up with whether they are richer or better than them.

    Captioning the video, he wrote: “Look out for those you grew up with.

    “Chased rats and did menial jobs with. You may have grown richer than them or in better health. Thank God. Don’t celebrate them in death. Look out for them and offer some help. At all, at all an him bad. God is waiting for you in 2024 to do that, as a thanksgiving for your continuous elevation. It is called HUMANITY. Ya gazie #KOKwillalwaysbeOK Ihe Mbaise ji ka Mba.”

    Yinka Davies, Orits Wiliki, Kanayo bag GAMA awards

    Veteran actor, Kanayo O Kanayo , reggae musician, Orits Wiliki, and Yinka Davies, a vocalist, on Saturday bagged the Global Affairs Magazine Award (GAMA) for their outstanding contributions to the growth of entertainment in Nigeria.

    Arise News’ Rufai Oseni was given an award of excellence as the ‘Most Courageous Television Host’ of the year.

    Labour Party’s presidential candidate, Peter Obi, was awarded the best politician of the year 2023, while popular comedian, Koffi Nuel, got an award of excellence for service to humanity.

    Also, Dr Daniel Olukoya, Founder of Mountain of Fire and Miracle Ministries, bagged a lifetime achievement award for service to humanity.

    The theme for the award celebration is “A Channel of Hope Where There is Despair”.

    Regina Robinson, Convener of GAMA, during the award presentation, said the award was to celebrate and reward distinguished men and women who are  selfless and have impacted others positively.

    “The award celebrates individuals, and bodies who have over the years supported life changing causes, especially in the areas of health and most  prominently the less privileged, physically challenged and children with special needs as well as the teeming youth population.

    “GAMA remains a platform for showcasing the brighter side of a perceived unattractive world.

    “The occasion also provides us the opportunity to showcase the potential of our magazine and what we stand for.”

    Also, Dr Bala Abraham, Chairman, Global Affairs Magazine (GAM), who coordinated the launch of GAM Foundation, pledged to attend to the needs of the needy in the society.

    Other recipients of the awards are : Dr Akintoye Akindele and Dr Segun Musa, both entrepreneurs as well as Dr Bala Abraham, Chairman of Global Affairs Magazine, who bagged a Lifetime Achievement Award for service to humanity.

    Pastor Wale Adefarasin, Senior Pastor of Guiding Light Assembly Church, Princess Ebuwa Iguehon and Dr John Ejezie also won award of excellence for service to humanity.

    Rev. Ngozi Okorie of Full Life Christian Assembly; Eze Chika Nwokedi, Igwe of Ijegun/Ijeododo communities in Lagos andMr Olawale Shittu, a Business Manager bagged awards of excellence for service to humanity

    Dr Osita Offor, former World Heavyweight Wrestling Champion won GAMA award of excellence for his outstanding service to the nation.

    Responding, Nuel expressed his appreciation to the organisers of the awards as he also appreciated his wife for her continous support.

    “This is for God, my family and everyone in my team, also to my clients who keep paying for my services in face of hopelessness,” he said.

    Raggae artiste, Wiliki, said,  “I like to appreciate the organisers of the award because it is not in our tradition to appreciate people when they are alive but this is coming while we are still alive.

    “I dedicate this to the last born in my family, Mrs Becky, we have weathered the storm together over the years.”

    Kanayo O. Kanayo , Veteran Nollywood actor has blastes former presidential aide, Reno Omokri, for taunting the Labour Party (LP) presidential candidate in the 2023 election, Peter Obi, over the ailment of Mr. Ibu.

    Mr Ibu recently cried out for prayers following his battle with an unnamed illness, which may lead to the amputation of his legs.

     

    Reacting to the news of the comic actor making the rounds online, Reno Omokri, in a post via X, pointed out that Mr Ibu was a staunch supporter of Peter Obi and the LP flagbearer should support the medical bill of the thespian.

    He wrote: “I sympathise with John Ikechukwu Okafor, AKA Mr. Ibu, over his ailment, and I urge all #RenosNuggeteers to donate to the account number he put out.

     

    “Please do not ignore his cries for help. I also urge members of the public to donate. However, this is a man who publicly endorsed Peter Obi. He and his daughter danced for Peter Obi and broke the Internet.

     

    “They went out on the streets campaigning for Obi. The same Peter Obi who boasted that he is richer than President Biden of the US, who at the time of Peter’s boast was worth $8.2 million.

     

    “After all that John Okafor did for him, perhaps Mr. Peter Obi can support him by paying Mr. Ibu’s medical bills. I am even surprised that Peter Obi did not remember to post about Mr. Ibu on his birthday yesterday. Even at that, Peter Obi should help him in his time of need.”

     

    Displeased with Reno’s post, Kanayo O. Kanayo, while commenting on an Instagram blog post, described Reno as attention attention-seeking writer, and people should avoid listening to him.

    Ooni of Ife, Oba Adeyeye Ogunwusi Enitan handshake with veteran actor, Pete Edochie and Kanayo o kanayo have sparked reactions from Social media users.

    In a now viral video, Edochie and Kanayo approached Ooni’s table at Elizabeth Jack Rich’s 40th birthday party on Tuesday and exchanged Igbo “cultural” handshakes with the monarch.

    Some Social media users have knocked the actors for disrespecting the Monarch, while others praised Ooni for being very respectful.

    Another user Onyemauchi tweeted: “This man supposed be King for him community”

    Man of Letters said: “Igbakeji Oorisa?! It’s acceptable that he received the  cross-culture respect handshake with Pete Edochie because the man Pete carry, but what’s his excuse for doing it with Kanayo O Kanayo??”

    Another tweep tracesorba wrote: “Igbos don’t bow down to any man, An evolved or wise man is their our own Chi.”

    Kelvin Odanz said. “Is this ceremony holding in the Ooni palace? I mean, if an Igbo man (from a culture that doesn’t bow to another man) meets the Ooni in the UK for instance, is it disrespectful if he chooses to greet the respected Oba in a way he was brought up to respect dignitaries?”

    Nollywood veteran actor, Kanayo O Kanayo has expressed concerns that the Labour Party presidential candidate in the just concluded elections in the country Peter Obi will be arrested.

    The actor raised concerns over the safety of the Labour Party, (LP) presidential candidate, Peter Obi.

    According to Kanayo O Kanayo  Nigerians should watch out because Obi would soon be arrested.

    He alleged that some people are conspiring against the LP flag bearer, adding that he feels like something fishy is about to happen.

    The actor cum lawyer made this claims on his instagram page on Monday.

    His post reads : “Peter Gregory Obi will soon be arrested, Watch Out. The conspiracy is brewing, you want to bet?”

    The All Progressives Congress, APC, Presidential Campaign Council, had called for Obi’s arrest for allegedly inciting violence.

    Recall that Tinubu’s spokesman, Bayo Onanuga, already accused Obi of making inflammatory statements following his loss at the presidential election.

    The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) declared Bola Tinubu of the All Progressive Congress (APC) as the winner of the presidential election held on February 25 in the country.

    Veteran Nollywood actor, Kanayo. O. Kanayo, has begged President Muhammadu Buhari to release detained leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), Nnamdi Kanu.

    The actor, in a video on his Instagram page, made the plea while celebrating his 60th birthday.

    Kanayo said he’s saddened by the loss of lives and insecurity in the South East and begged Buhari to use his executive power to release Kanu.

    His post read: “My dear president and father of the nation, Muhammadu Buhari GCFR, commander in chief of the Armed Forces of the Federal Republic of Nigeria. I hope this message meets you well sir? My name is Kanayo O. Kanayo, I’m an actor and a lawyer, and I hold a national honour as a member of the Order of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.

    “Sir, on this occasion of my 60th birthday, I want to make an appeal to you as a son and a patriotic citizen whose industry contributes meaningfully to the Nation’s GDP.

    “I’m deeply pained by the loss of lives, wanton killings and general insecurity in the land.

    “You’re the father of the nation with numerous sons and daughters including Mazi Nnamdi Kanu. Sir, the bulk stops at your table, I know and appreciate that Nnamdi Kanu’s case is before the court and you usually do not like to interfere with court cases but at this stage of heightened tension, you are a president with executive powers.

    Veteran Nollywood actor, Kanayo O. Kanayo has reacted to claims that there is sex for role in the industry.

    Many Nollywood actresses had admitted that sex for roles were so rampant and killing the industry.

    Kanayo, popularly known as KOK, in an Instagram post on Wednesday said people might have been hearing of sex roles in Nollywood.

    He said such tales were not true, saying that many of the girls were not working hard to live up to their roles they were cast for.

    He said this is quite a shame.

    He wrote: “When you hear of sex for roles in Nollywood, please do not believe all you are told. Many of the girls are not working hard to live up to the roles they are cast for. Quite a shame.”
