We’re so close to Champions League final now – Kante

Chelsea midfielder N’Golo Kante says they’ll face Real Madrid at Stamford Bridge full of confidence.

The Blues left the Spanish capital with a potentially vital away goal from their 1-1 draw in the first-leg of this Champions League semifinal, with Christian Pulisic opening the scoring before Karim Benzema levelled the tie.

“We are happy for the result,” explained Kante, who was named Man of the Match.

“Coming into this game, we knew we’d be playing against a great team and we wanted to leave with a good result so we would have the momentum ahead of the second leg at home.

“I think overall 1-1 is a fair result. We had many chances that we didn’t score but we can be happy with the draw.

“We are looking forward to playing at home and hopefully qualifying for the final.”

All my family love watching Kante – Tuchel

Chelsea manager Thomas Tuchel claims his family loves to watch star midfielder N’Golo Kante.

The Frenchman has struggled with injury problems at the Stamford Bridge club over the past few seasons.

But he put a shift in against FC Porto in the second leg of their Champions League quarter final, playing 90 minutes and helping the team progress into the semi finals.

Tuchel said post-game: “We took the risk because we know that maybe this was the moment. Maybe it was not a risk, but the situation and put him on the field and hope he had the energy for 90 minutes.

“N’Golo is incredible, he is like one and a half or two players. Everybody who sees him for the first time loves him, all my family love him when they watch our games now. It’s so nice to have him.

“He wins so many balls, he gives everybody confidence and at the same time, like I said, we also did it for Kova.

“We were not sure if N’Golo would start today if we had everybody available but also, it was perfect. Now it is time to recover.”

Chelsea midfielder N’Golo Kante is confident Kai Havertz will prove his class.

Kante has been impressed with the young German since his move from Bayer Leverkusen last summer, even if the 21-year-old has seen game time limited of late.

“He has a good talent – good with the ball, calm and he has the ability to make a good last decision in the opponent’s half or box,” Kante told the club’s website. “He’s a reliable player for us because we can fund him and use his speed and his technique.

“Obviously he’s young and he was a bit injured recently but he always stays positive and keeps a good work ethic.

“It’s good to have him in the squad and I’m sure that he will do well in the future.”

Chelsea midfielder N’Golo Kante admits manager Thomas Tuchel tried to sign him for PSG.

Tuchel was PSG coach before his sacking earlier this season and subsequent appointment at Chelsea.

Now the two have gotten a chance to work together, but Kante could have been playing for Tuchel in France if things had panned out differently.

“I knew in the past there was some contact with Paris Saint-Germain when he was the manager, but it was not something I wanted,” Kante said.

“It did not happen because I was happy at Chelsea and I stayed here.

Kante ‘dreaming’ of Madrid switch after Lampard spat

Chelsea midfielder N’Golo Kante may want to leave Stamford Bridge.

Recent reports have suggested some issues exist between Kante and manager Frank Lampard.

The World Cup winner wanted to skip a training session for the wedding of a friend, and the 29-year-old was not allowed to do so.

Kante was furious at that decision, and it appears he wants to leave the club.

Le Parisien claims Kante is dreaming of a switch to Real Madrid in the summer.

He has a contract at the Blues until 2023 and any sale would involve a huge transfer fee.

Chelsea star N’Golo Kante could make this his last season in England.

That’s according to family sources, who say Kante would be open to trying something new next summer.

Inter Milan are keen on the midfielder, though Le 10 Sport says his personal priority would be Real Madrid.

And a family source says: “A transfer will be easier to achieve next year.”

Inter made enquiries this summer, where Kante would be reunited his former Chelsea manager Antonio Conte.

Chelsea midfielder N’Golo Kante is waiting for Inter Milan to firm up their transfer interest.

Kante is “open” to reuniting with former boss Antonio Conte at Inter Milan this summer, says Gazzetta dello Sport.

But the Italian giants must first raise money through player sales to afford the Blues’ £46million asking price.

Kante and Conte worked together at Stamford Bridge during the latter’s two-year reign in West London – winning the Premier League and FA Cup along the way.

And Conte believes that bringing the Frenchman to Italy could be the final piece in the jigsaw when it comes to ending Juventus’ dominance and winning the Serie A title this season.

Kante, 29, has started both of Chelsea’s opening two Premier League matches this term.

But Inter are confident that the Blues will sell if offered £46m.

EPL: Chelsea put Kante, 8 others up for sale

Chelsea are ready to sell at least nine players this summer transfer window, as they look to oversee a huge squad overhaul ahead of next season.

The Blues have already bolstered their squad with two new signings, Hakim Ziyech and Timo Werner, ahead of the new campaign.

But Chelsea coach, Frank Lampard is keen to sign Bayer Leverkusen’s Kai Havertz, as well as a new left-back and a new goalkeeper this summer.

Chelsea’s business in the transfer window will also depend on their departures.

According to The Times, Chelsea are already open to offers for the likes of N’Golo Kante, who has started just 23 games during the 2019/20 season due to an injury-hit campaign and Ross Barkley.

Other players include Tiemoue Bakayoko, who spent the 2019/20 season on loan at Monaco, Kurt Zouma, Marcos Alonso, Andreas Christensen and Emerson Palmieri.

Chelsea are also looking to find buyers for Michy Batshuayi, who has a year left on his contract and Kepa Arrizabalaga, who was dropped by Lampard for the FA Cup final 2-1 defeat to Arsenal on Saturday.

  • Revealed: Kante won’t stay with Chelsea if unwanted

Chelsea midfielder N’Golo Kante won’t dig in his heels if the club choose to sell him this summer.

A swap deal has been mooted this week in Spain, with Barcelona midfielder Philippe Coutinho going in the opposite direction.

Chelsea manager Frank Lampard has not yet signalled to any member of his first-team squad whether he wants them aboard for next season.

Barcelona, Real Madrid and Paris Saint-Germain have all been linked with Kante, who is keen to remain with the Blues.

Goal reports, however, there is one condition that could tempt the midfielder into leaving for the Nou Camp.

He would only be interested in the switch if he was told that Chelsea are looking to sell him.

  • Chelsea willing to sell powerman Kante this summer

Chelsea are reportedly open to selling their powerman N’Golo Kante this summer with both Real Madrid and Paris Saint-Germain holding interest in the World Cup winner.

Both European giants could be tempted to test Chelsea’s resolve at the end of the season, and the Blues are believed to be willing to part ways with the Frenchman should they receive an acceptable offer.

Kante established himself as one of the Premier League’s most impressive enforcers after being snapped up by Leicester in 2015, but Chelsea are now considering the future of their midfield with the player now approaching his 30s.

According to 90min, Real Madrid may be lining up an ambitious swoop as part of a French-centred recruitment plan at the Bernabeu.

Zinedine Zidane is said to be keen to recruit 29-year-old Kante – with international team-mates Paul Pogba and Kylian Mbappe also coveted by the legendary ex-attacker.

But Real may be forced to fend off stern competition for Kante’s signature from Paris Saint-Germain.

The Ligue 1 title chasers could submit a substantial offer should they feel that Chelsea will accept bids for their homeland hero.

Kante’s contract is set to expire in 2023, with the World Cup winner not expecting to renew his terms at that time.
