    The ever-ageless screen star on Saturday, via her Instagram page shared stunning birthday portraits, as she extends gratitude to God for keeping her through the years.

    In her words:“Thank you to the King of Kings. I am still standing only because of your grace and mercy. I choose joy and gratitude till the end of my days.Cheers to another year loaned.”

    Henshaw forayed into the movie industry over two and a half decades ago.

    She gained prominence for her role in the 1993 movie ‘When the Sun Sets’.

    Since then, she has established herself as a prominent name in the Nigerian movie industry, with numerous awards and recognition to her credit.

    Kate Henshaw, a popular Nollywood actress has taken to social media to lament bitterly about the country’s electricity tariff band system.

    TheNewsGuru reports that the thespian via the microblogging platform on Tuesday pointed out the huge disparity between power supply among electricity tariff bands and what consumers received for consumption on a daily.

    According to the actress, despite being in band A, which should have nothing less than 20 hours of daily power supply, she only get two hours a day.

    The award-winning actress who described the who electricity tarriffs band system as fraud, as she queried the logic behind huge tarriffs despite low power supply.

    Henshaw further compared the electricity billing system to the recently collapsed Ponzi scheme ‘CBEX’.

    She said, “This banding of electricity is a huge FRAUD! I said it before, and I repeat it again..

    “”Band A” is supposed to get 20 hours of electricity at an exorbitant tariff, but if you get 2 hours, to God be the glory. A huge FRAUD…. KMT. See?!!! That estimated billing na daylight robbery with bazooka guns!!! I said what I said!!!

    “When they know they can’t generate enough energy to supply the people, you raise tarriff and still drop the supply! Is that not CBex-ing of the people??”

    The drama unfolded after Akpoti granted an interview, sparking a heated debate on social media.

    Kate Henshaw took to Instagram to show her support for Senator Akpoti-Uduaghan, posting a heartfelt piece about the strength and resilience of women.

    She highlighted how societal norms, religion, and tradition often relegate women to the background, perpetuating the notion that they are weak.

    However, Henshaw emphasized that women are, in fact, the offspring of countless women warriors, underscoring their capacity for strength and courage. Her post served as a powerful reminder of the importance of female empowerment and solidarity.

    Pastor Ituah Ighodalo opens up on alleged marriage plan with Kate Henshaw

    Pastor Ituah Ighodalo, senior pastor of Trinity House, has reacted to rumors that he is planning to marry Nollywood actress Kate Henshaw, years after losing his wife, Ibidunni Ighodalo.

    The clergyman, during a recent interview with media personality Osayuwamen Saleh on Upgradetv also spoke extensively about how he’s been coping without his beloved wife.

    However, reacting to rumors that he is planning to remarry, Pastor Ituah said he is not aware of any such plan and called on the blogger who broke the news to pay a tithe of the money generated from views.

    On whether he would remarry in the future, the clergyman stated that he will exercised caution, saying he didn’t know what the future held or if there was somebody somewhere for him.

    However, he insisted that for now, he is stable, focusing on what he’s doing, and happy.

    “I loved my wife so much. I take each day as it comes. I don’t know what the future holds. About an Aso ebi coming out, well, not to the best of my knowledge. The problem with social media is that people feel they can do whatever they want. Whoever it is spreading this rumour is making money from it. When they are done spreading it, they should come and pay tithe,” he said.

    Veteran Nollywood actress Kate Henshaw has reacted to the reports of the possibility of Electricity customers on Band experiencing a new tariff increase following the rise in the electricity tariff shortfall, otherwise known as subsidy.

    According to a new report,  the electricity subsidy, which was N102.30 bn in May, rose to a staggering N181,63bn in September. This continuous rise has fuelled speculations that there may be another tariff increase in the October Multi-Year Tariff Order unless the cost of power generation drops.

    TheNewsGuru.com (TNG) learnt that the foreign exchange crisis has been the major driver of the electricity subsidy as the Nigerian Electricity Regulatory Commission (NERC) put the dollar exchange rate at N1,494.1 in July; 1,564.3 in August; and N1601.5 in September.

    Reacting to the development, Henshaw, via the microblogging platform X formerly Twitter, expressed dismay over the new method of categorizing of electricity bands, saying it is pure theft

    She tweeted: “I have said it before and I repeat, this banding of electricity is pure theft. Nowhere in the world is there a Brand A or whatever alphabet for electricity. Give everyone electricity and let them pay for what they. consume. Another hike??? Kuku put a rope on our necks.”

    Nollywood actress, Kate Henshaw, has responded to those calling her out over controversial message on Father Day.

    It would be recalled that the actress on Father’s day shared a heartfelt message, quoting Proverbs 23:24, and wishing “responsible fathers” a happy Father’s Day.

    She wrote; “The father of the righteous will greatly rejoice , and he who sires a wise child will have joy in him. Proverb 23: 24 AMP. Happy father days to all the responsible fathers here.God’s strengh favour and blessings will continues to abound.”

    However, the post did not sit well with many men who called her out, pointing out that she didn’t use the term “responsible” in her mother’s Day message, sparking debate.

    Several male celebrites have since replied the actress over the post.

    In response to the criticisms via her handle on the microblogging platform, Henshaw on Monday made no apology for her father’s day statement. She added, that her tweet stands as an encouragement to responsible fathers..

    She wrote: “Good morning Nosa, thank you for your tweet. I only respond because of your demeanour.

    “I do have the right to tweet what I want on any given day, and my tweet stands as an encouragement to RESPONSIBLE fathers.

    “Others can tweet what they want on any given day, too. I have never deleted any tweet since I have been on this app, even when some rugrats tried the ruse, which failed. My tweet remains.

    “Words only have an effect if they are true. Abuses have absolutely no effect on me and mine. Do have a blessed week ahead.”

    Controversial Nigerian preacher Daddy Freeze, real name Ifedayo Olarinde has reacted to actress, Kate Henshaw’s Father’s Day message.

    The fitness enthusiast, had prayed for God’s strenght, favour and blessings upon fathers who are responsible to their kids.

    However, her message attracted a lot of backlash from those who pointed out the double standard at which she wished all mothers Happy Mothers Day, but was only celebrating responsible Fathers.

    Reacting, the media personality agreed with her message celebrating responsible father, but however, he noted how there are good men out there who can’t afford to be responsible for financial, health or other reasons.

    He also noted how some women are the reason why a man can’t be a responsible father as he stated that if such men are destroyed psychologically, emotionally and financially, there is no way they would be responsible.

    “Kate is right; as a father you need to be responsible. However, there are good men out there who can’t afford to be responsible for financial, health or other reasons, so it’s not their fault. Many women are also the reason why some men are irresponsible. If you destroy a man psychologically, emotionally and financially, you can’t expect magic can you?? The scriptures quoted also cut both ways”.

    Some Nigerian celebrities have taken to social media to react to the signing of the old National Anthem Bill 2024 into law.

    TheNewsGuru.com reports that the Senate President, Godswill Akpabio announced on Wednesday at a joint session of the National Assembly that President Bola Tinubu signed the bill into law.

    Akpabio further explained that the session’s main purpose is to launch the new national anthem, adding that the President will not be making a speech as he has to launch the Abuja metro line.

    The move by the lawmakers sparked mixed outrage amongst Nigerians and celebrities alike, as they queried the government for prioritizing the national anthem over the current hardship in the country.

    Amongst celebrities to react is Kate Henshaw, who slammed the government for thinking about the old anthem at a time of ‘excoriating hardship ‘ and ‘lack of good governance.’

    She wrote: “In the midst of excoriating hardship and lack of good governance on every level but not to worry, going back to colonial anthem will be a soothing balm and inject patriotism back into our veins, a much needed drug. The labour of our heroes past… o ti lo”

    Another celebrity who dived into the conversation is, Nigerian comedian and actor Otaghware Onod, better known as I Go Save.

    The media personality in reaction posed a question to the Federal Government, inquiring if the government can bring back old dollar prices, old fuel prices, old flight prompt operating price, old taxation, old security standards and more.

    He wrote; “Since una don bring back old national anthem, can you people bring back our old dollar price, old fuel price, old flight prompt operating style, old taxation, old security standards, etc.”.

    For popular stand-up comedian and on-air personality, Steve Onu popularly known as Yaw, he lamented bitterly over the high cost of food, after which queried the lawmakers for changing the National anthem to old anthem yet are unable to do same for food prices in the market

    He said, “How do people that earn 30k cope? A tuber of yam is now N5000, I bought this cucumber for N300. The prices of Foodstuff are increasing daily yet it is the National Anthem they are focusing on. Anyone that wants to visit me should please eat in their houses before coming.”

    Veteran singer and social activist, Charles Oputa, aka Charly Boy tackled the government in what he termed, ‘covered up by false propaganda.’ He further asked the public for need that is most important between hunger and old national anthem.

    He wrote: “Misplaced Priorities, incompetence, greed and the almighty CORRUPTION can never be covered up by false propaganda. My people, Wetin dey worry us pass for dis country, HUNGER or NATIONAL ANTHEM?”

    Kate Henshaw gives reason why NYSC should be scrapped

    Nollywood actress Kate Henshaw has taken to her social media account to explain why she wants the National Youths Service Corps (NYSC) program scrapped.

    Kate shared her opinion on why the program should be scrapped in a post on her X page (formerly Twitter) while reacting to the abduction of eight corps members in Zamfara State.

    The mother of one argued that the annual NYSC program should be scrapped immediately because of the inability of security operatives to protect the corps members.

    The actress also noted that travelling is no longer safe for the corps members, and therefore should be scrapped because the integrity of the program had been compromised.

    She wrote; ‘‘When I served in the North, it was a very memorable experience. Travelling from Bauchi by road to the airport was safe & then flying to Lagos just with my NYSC ID card, which also got me a rebate on my ticket.

    ‘‘It’s time to SCRAP this idea since corpers can’t travel within this country without LET OR HINDRANCE! Stop putting the lives of young people at risk with moribund ideas. Security is a priority & needs to be sorted totally, not technically.’’
