Alexander-Arnold so bad defensively – Keane

Former Manchester United captain Roy Keane could not help take a dig at Trent Alexander-Arnold this weekend.

The Liverpool right-back scored an excellent free-kick for England in a 3-1 win over Finland.

However, Keane could not resist complaining about Alexander-Arnold’s defending in their loss to Greece a few days prior.

“Great technique, you can see his standing foot, technique is fantastic. No chance for the goalkeeper. I’m usually harsh on goalkeepers but I’ll go easy on that one,” Keane said of the free-kick while on punditry duties.

“You give time to Trent, because his decision making and quality of passing is fantastic, but I can’t believe how bad he is defensively and against better teams he’ll be punished.

“If you saw him the other night defending (against Greece), it looked like he’d never played right-back before!”

Pogba hasn’t improved Man Utd – Roy Keane

Manchester United great Roy Keane says he’s frustrated with Paul Pogba because he feels the Frenchman can do more.

Since United spent £89m on him they have failed to mount a title charge and picked up just three trophies in five seasons.

Keane told Sky Sports: “I like Paul as a player, simple as that. From what I hear, he’s a pretty decent human being, a good character.

“Slightly different in the way he leads his life, but he’s a talent boy.

“Again the one thing I’m disappointed with is, I don’t think he’s made Man Utd that much better or the players around him better.”

Everton defender Michael Keane is a shock target for new Barcelona coach Ronald Koeman.

Okdiario says Koeman is planning a surprise move to bring Keane to Barcelona.

The Dutch boss was officially named as the Catalans’ new head coach on Wednesday after signing a two-year deal at the La Liga giants.

Koeman brought the England international to Goodison Park from Burnley in 2017 for an initial £25million fee.

The new Barcelona boss is keen on linking up with the centre-back again and has placed the 27-year-old on his summer shopping list.

  • Everton defender Keane suffers fractured skull

Everton defender Michael Keane suffered a hairline fracture of his skull during Saturday’s draw at Bournemouth.

The England centre-back clashed heads with team-mate Idrissa Gueye in injury time and was taken to hospital after six minutes of treatment on the pitch.

“Michael Keane has sustained a small hairline fracture of the skull but suffered no other complications,” said an Everton statement.

Keane, 25, said he must avoid head contact for three to four weeks.

The defender had earlier scored to put the Toffees 2-0 up in their Premier League match at the Vitality Stadium, before the Cherries fought back to earn a point.

“I will be back with my team and back on the pitch as soon as I can,” Keane posted on social media on Sunday.

“I’m OK but suffered a small hairline fracture of the skull, which will heal itself.”
