  • Why we are negotiating with kidnappers of Kaduna teachers, schoolgirls – Police

Why we are negotiating with kidnappers of Kaduna teachers, schoolgirls – Police

    …says we know their location

Barely a week after the kidnap of six female students and two teachers of Engravers College Kaduna, police say they know the location of the abductees, but cannot, for their safety, use force to free them.

The police said they opted for negotiation with the kidnappers.

Kaduna State Police Commissioner Ali Janga disclosed this at a briefing on Wednesday.

The CP said, “We are negotiating with the kidnappers to rescue these students and their teachers, we know the location of the kidnappers but we do not want to endanger their lives.

“Most of these kidnappers are operating under the influence of hard drugs, so killing is nothing to them, this is why we are still negotiating with them and as soon as the victims are released, we will go after them.

“We are assuring the people of Kaduna State that we will arrest these kidnappers very soon.”

The six schoolgirls, their Vice Principal, Academics and House Mistress were kidnapped from the Engravers College premises in Kakau Daji, Chikun Local goverment area of Kaduna State, in the early hours of Thursday last week.

The kidnappers on Monday demanded N10 million ransom for each of the abductees, after dropping the initial sum of N50 million for all the eight victims.

  • We knew kidnappers will strike in Kaduna three months ago – El-Rufai

There is a strong suspicion in government that the current wave of kidnapping in parts of the country has the support of the terror sect, Boko Haram.

Governor Nasir el-Rufai of Kaduna State, who dropped this hint on Friday, said intelligence report had shown that kidnappers are collaborating with some Boko Haram members to kidnap people for ransom.

He spoke with State House correspondents after Juma’at prayers at the State House, Abuja.

He said he received intelligence report three months ago that kidnappers might now target schools in his state.

Gunmen struck at Engravers College, Kakau Daji, a remote village in Gwagwada District, Chikun local area of Kaduna State, early Thursday, abducting six female students and two teachers.

The kidnappers have contacted some parents of the kidnapped students to demand a ransom of N50million.

Questioned about the development by reporters, el-Rufai said government had made adequate arrangement to beef up security in state schools.

The kidnappers of the school female students, he said, succeeded because Engravers College is located out of the city.

He said: ”It is most unfortunate and tragic for us in Kaduna for this kidnap of children and teachers to happen.

“As at this morning (Friday), the kidnappers have made contacts with the parents, and we have got the parents of the kidnapped children and the relations of the teachers to be in one place so that there is one line of communication with the kidnappers to facilitate their release.

“However, from the moment of the kidnap, the security agencies, from the DSS, the Police, the Airforce and the Army have been on the matter and I am confident that not only are we going to secure the release of the students and their teachers, but we are going to get the kidnappers by the grace of God.

“It is always a moment of sadness when young people that are trying to get education become victims of these criminals. But kidnapping has become widespread that for many people, it is not news.

“For us in Kaduna, this is one of the biggest tragedies and we are doing everything to manage the situation to get the children and their teachers safely and pursue these kidnappers with everything that we have got.

“I am confident that it will be resolved and very soon. I get updates every three hours on this and the last update I got is that they are in touch and they are discussing to resolve the matter.

“Until the kidnapping happened, I didn’t know the school. It is right in the middle of the bush along the Abuja/Kaduna road. It’s in the middle of nowhere really, that’s why it was vulnerable. Other schools are protected and no one should have any doubts if your child is in Kaduna State. We are doing our best to protect him or her.

“Schools are being watched and we do regular surveillance. We use the Nigerian Airforce planes, we use drones. We do regular surveillance all across the state and we get intelligence as to likely targets. So, with the help of security agencies, we are doing the best we can on this. Of course, you can never get this 100 percent. “

On the ransom, he said: “They have made demand for money and that is being negotiated. They always do. I cannot go into details; we are trying to protect the victims and secure their release. So, there is a level of information I cannot reveal.”

Asked whether he regretted enrolling his child in public school, he said: “My child should not be safer or more protected than any other child in Kaduna State. I took an oath of office to protect everyone, and my child is just one of the two million children we have in primary schools in Kaduna State.

“And I have no intention of reviewing that. For me, taking my child to a government school was not only a commitment I made, but a clear expression that I have confidence in the quality of our public schools for my child to attend. And we have already given directives that all the staff of the Ministry of Education who are in charge of managing our education system must have their own children in public schools.”

On whether parents were withdrawing their children from schools because of the incident, he said there was no information available to him to that effect.

  • Kidnappers of two senior NSCDC officials demand N6m ransom

Kidnappers of the Commandant of Irrua Division of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), in Edo State, Mr. Albert Eguavoen, have allegedly demanded N6 million ransom to free their victim.

This is even as the abductors of the wife of the Managing Director of Nigerian Railway Corporation (NRC), Mrs. Francisca Okhiria, have allegedly demanded for N20 million before she could regain her freedom.

It was gathered that the Eguavoen’s abductors made the ransom demand on Monday when they opened negotiation with his family.

But it could not be ascertained if the ransom demanded by the abductors was for Eguavoen alone.

Recall that the Commandant was abducted last Friday afternoon, alongside Francis Okunwe who is attached at the Area Commander of the Edo North Area Command, around Ewossa before Ekpon in Esan Senatorial District of the State, while travelling to Benin City, the State capital.

Sources at NSCDC said the officials were traveling through Igueben road, due to the bad state of the Benin-Auchi-Okenne highway.

It was gathered that his abductors allowed him to speak with his family members, during which he reportedly urged them to raise the said ransom to enable him regain freedom.

The Commandant was said to have also pleaded that the Redeemed Christian Church of God, where he is a senior usher at Eagles Wings parish of the church in Benin, should intensify prayer to ensure that he is not hurt.

A family member who did not want to be named, said: “we fear for the safety of our brother because from the voice of the kidnappers we could deduce that they are herdsmen.

“I urge the authorities of NSCDC to intensify efforts to ensure Eguavoen and his colleague’s safe return.”

Meanwhile, the authorities of the NSCDC in the State, said they have dispatched operatives into the forests in search of the two abducted colleagues.

Spokesman for the NSCDC in the State, Mr. Efosa Ogbebor, who described the incident as unfortunate, added that its men will comb the forest and ensure their colleagues are released unhurt.

Meanwhile, the Edo State Commissioner of Police, Mr. DanMallam Mohammed, who confirmed the incident, added that a combined operation of security agencies in the state was being put in place to apprehend the abductors.

In the other incident, Mrs. Okhiria who was whisked away by suspected gunmen in the Edo State capital of Benin, five days ago, is is yet to be released by her kidnappers.

The Edo State Commissioner of Police, Mr. DanMallam Mohammed, however assured that the police were on top of the situation as they were hot on the trail of the kidnappers.

Mohammed, who spoke in Benin on Monday, said that the police were not relenting in ensuring that Mrs. Okhiria was freed unhurt by her abductors.

The Edo Police boss, however, said that he was not aware of ransom demand of N20 million by the kidnappers before letting go off their victims.

Mohammed said: “We are on the case. The police in Edo is not taking kindly to this kidnap case. Investigations are still ongoing. We will get to the root of the case. We are not relenting and will release her, unhurt.”

  • Banditry: 372 kidnapped victims rescued, 240 guns recovered in Zamfara

Banditry: 372 kidnapped victims rescued, 240 guns recovered in Zamfara

The Zamfara peace initiative has so far recorded massive success with 372 kidnapped victims rescued, while 240 guns were surrendered by repentant bandits, according to Mr Usman Nagogo, the state’s Commissioner of Police.

Nagogo, Chairman of the Peace Dialogue and Reconciliation Meeting, disclosed this on Sunday at a meeting held at Bakura.

He, however, said that the bandits terrorising some states in the country were not only Fulani herdsmen.

“The bandits comprised of people from many tribes. It is not restricted to Fulani as is being assumed,” he said.

He accused the outlawed vigilante groups, popularly known as “Yansakai”, of being responsible for the various security challenges, saying that the attacks on communities were reprisals to extra judicial killings by the group.

Nagogo expressed satisfaction with the success so far recorded since the inception of the committee.

“In the past, some of the major markets were closed due to insecurity, but today, all our markets are open and Fulani people move freely without any problems.

“With this development, l can say that over 90 percent success has been achieved,” he said.

The Police official urged people to support the peace dialogue committee with prayers and information that would widen its reach and facilitate the success of its mission.

He said that the meeting at Bakura would open room for more consultations with various parties involved in the crisis, including the outlawed “Yansakai”, Fulani leaders, royal fathers, among others.

“I was in this state as a Deputy Commissioner of Police some years back. I later left, but was sent back by the Inspector-General of Police to carry out this assignment.

“I was involved in this kind of negotiations during the previous administration. l am in the picture of all security challenges faced by this state.

“This is the fifth emirate we have visited for reconciliation meeting. We have seen positive results from the peace dialogue and consultations.

“In all the emirates visited, we have not recorded any problem; it has been a success story,” he said.

In his remarks, the Emir of Bakura, Alhaji Bello Sani, thanked the state government for initiating the peace dialogue committee and appreciated the committee for their visit to the emirate.

“We have not witnessed much security challenges in this area. We don’t have the outlawed vigilante group (Yansakai) here and have never witnessed bandit groups or camps, but we are happy to be part of the peace process,” he said.

Sani, who noted that the problems of Fulani herders/farmers clashes had not been much in the area, blamed the rising conflicts on population explosion and unemployment, as well as government policies on grazing reserves.

The monarch appealed to Zamfara government to expand the Ruga settlement project to cover all the 14 local government areas so that all areas would benefit.

Alhaji Mainasara Ganarawa, Chairman, Miyetti-Allah Association, Bakura Local Government chapter, in a remark, regretted that cow theft was still rampant in spite of the peace initiative by the state government.

“Our herders are facing problems of cattle rustling and lack of adequate grazing reserves to feed their animals,” he added.

Alhaji Abdullahi Yahaya, Sarkin-Noma of Bakura, in his remarks, said that farmers would continue to maintain the long existing peaceful relationship with Fulani herders in the area.

  • Three suspected kidnappers shot dead in Kogi

Three suspected kidnappers have been shot dead in Kogi State during a shooting encounter with a combined team of soldiers, policemen and local hunters.

The state police command’s Public Relations Officer, ASP William Aya, who confirmed this to the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Lokoja on Saturday, said that two of the kidnappers also escaped with gunshot injuries.

Aya said that the five-man armed kidnappers had, on Sept. 11, kidnapped six persons between Iyamoye and Ekinrinade road in Ijumu Local Government area of the state.

The kidnappers, who were masked, were said to have, on the said day, kidnapped Chief Ganiyu Popoola, the Elemoh Aran of Omu-Aran, his brother, Dr Sule Popoola, their nephew, a woman and her husband, said to be a medical doctor, and an unidentified victim.

They were said to be travelling to Lokoja in their separate vehicles when they and another commercial bus ran into a road block mounted by the suspects.

The driver of the commercial bus was, however, able to quickly manoeuvre his vehicle and escaped with a bullet-shattered windscreen towards Omuo-Oke, a border town between Ekiti and Kogi States.

The kidnappers, after robbing their victims, later marched them into the nearby thick forest.

Popoola, one of the victims, who spoke with NAN, said that the kidnappers took them to their hideouts where they were detained for hours before they released him, his brother and the only woman among them.

He said that they were given instructions to go and look for ransom to secure the release of others.

Before releasing them, Popoola, who spoke on the telephone, said that their captors took their phone numbers and returned their handsets to them.

He said that they trekked for hours before finding their way out of the forest and came out at a spot at Egbeda-Egga community.

On coming out, Popoola said that they sighted two policemen on leg patrol and some other people who they narrated their ordeal to.

He said that it was while doing this that some armed soldiers, led by a major, came to join them, saying that the soldiers were informed of the incident by the driver of the commercial bus who was lucky to escape.

Popoola said that the soldiers, numbering about five, the two policemen and the head of local hunters in Egbeda-Egga, led them back to the kidnappers’ hideouts.

He said that the head of local hunters, being familiar with the terrain, asked them some questions, and with answers given to him, was able to lead them to the hideouts with ease.

On sighting them, he said that the kidnappers opened fire, adding that the security agents immediately engaged them in a fierce gun duel during which three of the kidnappers were killed, while two others escaped with gunshot wounds.

The soldiers were said to have carried the corpses of the kidnappers to Iyara divisional police station and also handed over two rifles, one AK-47 and a pump action, to the policemen on duty.

In addition, Aya said that a sum of N57,510 and five different telephone handsets were found on them.

  • Kidnappers of Siasia’s mum release victim, hold ransom payer captive

…As ex-Super Eagles coach mother remains in kidnapper’s den 50 days after abduction

Abductors of Beauty Ogere, the mother of a former skipper and Coach of the Super Eagles, Samson Siasia, have released one of their victims, Florence Donana.

The 66-year-old Donana was abducted on July 15, the same day Siasia’s mother was kidnapped at Odoni community, Sagbama Local Government Area, Bayelsa State.

Donana was abducted alongside her 17-year-old granddaughter by the hoodlums, who first broke into the family house of Siaisia to seize Ogere at 2am.

But it was gathered that about 50 days after the incident and following prolonged negotiations between the families of the victims and the hoodlums, the kidnappers only released Donana, whose family paid some ransom.

A source from the community, who spoke in confidence, said the Donana family negotiated undisclosed amount of ransom with the kidnappers and sent someone to deliver the money to them.

He said the kidnappers collected the money, held the ransom payer captive and released only the aged Mrs. Donana.

“The 17-year-old granddaughter was not released. The mother of Siasia was also not released because the family had yet to agree on ransom. They are still holding three persons captive”.

The source, however, lampooned the police leadership headed by the Commissioner of Police, Uche Anozia, for not living up to its duty on the matter.

He said the kidnap case had exposed the current state police leadership as clueless and wondered why the octogenarian mother of Siasia could spend 50 days in kidnappers’ then without the police bursting the crime.

“It seems the commissioner of police has forgotten this case. The kidnappers are having fun, tormenting the families of their victims and acting with ease and impunity yet the police have said nothing on this case.

“They have no clues and nobody has been arrested. It seems nothing happened in Bayelsa. It is really bad. Maybe the Inspector-General Police should intervene by sending a special force to crack this crime”, he said.

Two days after the incident, the kidnappers established contacts with Siasia’s family and demanded N70m to set the victims free.

Siasia, however, begged the kidnappers to set his aged mother free unconditionally saying he was out of job and had no such money to pay them.

But a family member said the kidnappers brought down the ransom from N70m to N50m without consideration to the health of the woman.

Residents and the Bayelsa State Chapter of the Sports Writers Association of Nigeria (SWAN) raised concerns on the whereabouts of Ogere.

Residents said it was a sign of incompetence on the part of the police and other security agencies to allow the 80-year-old woman to be in kidnappers’ den for over 25 days.

They lamented that the silence of the police and other security agencies was disturbing and asked the security commanders in the state to either free the woman or resign their positions.

Some of the residents derided the security architecture in the state for their lacklustre and alleged unserious attitude on the case of Siasia’s mother.

The Bayelsa State Chapter of SWA said it was disturbing that several weeks after her abduction, Ogere Siasia is still being held hostage by suspected kidnappers.

The Chairman of SWAN, Alambo Datonye said: “Nearly a month since the woman’s kidnap on July 15 at her country home at Odoni in Sagbama Local Government Area of the State, the old woman is still languishing in the hands of her abductors.

“This should not happen to anyone talkless of an aged mother of Coach Siasia who brought joy to millions of Nigerians and Bayelsans as a player and a tactician donning the national colors, bringing glory to the country.

“We therefore call on the kidnappers to release Madam Ogere Siasia unconditionally and reunite her with her loved ones.

“We also urge security agencies and government to act swiftly and efficiently to ensure the release of the woman and others that are being held against her will.

“No sane society develops with individuals held against their will, with the perpetrators of this unconscionable act getting away scot free. The pain and trauma the Siasia family is going through is better imagined than experienced.

“As concerned members of the society, SWAN in Bayelsa call on the relevant agencies to be alive to their responsibilities of safeguarding the lives of every citizen and bring to a halt criminal activities such as kidnapping which is antithetical to the very essence of our collective humanity”.

  • Kidnappers, bandits operating in Southwest ’ll suffer – IGP

Kidnappers, bandits operating in Southwest ’ll suffer – IGP

The Inspector General of Police, Mr. Mohammed Adamu, has assured that the prevailing security challenges afflicting southwestern region of the country will soon be conquered.

Adamu said his men are battle ready to combat headlong the spate of kidnappings, banditry and attendant killings with the institution of Special Forces in the region.

The Inspector General of Police who spoke in in Ado Ekiti on Thursday during a security Stakeholders’ meeting held in Ado Ekiti capital city, warned those criminals terrorising the region to surrender or meet their waterloo.

Adamu added that the country’s policing system has been redesigned and rejigged to be community-based, so that all Nigerians can see the issue of security as their responsibilities.

“Our strategy for policing has changed. The community is now working with us and we are going to ensure that all the communities are represented whether you are traditional rulers or you belong to any socio cultural group.

“We are going to train people from each community who will have the power of the police and power to arrest. They will be deployed to help the police in fighting crimes. When it comes to recruitment, we will come to your communities”.

On why the police decided to interact with the stakeholders, Adamu said: “there are isolated cases of robbery, kidnapping and cultism in the southwest of recent and we believe the traditional rulers and the state governors must show commitment and we are ready to do anything to mitigate the security problems.

“We believe that if we all work together by way of robbing minds and share ideas, our society will be free of crimes”

The IGP added that the government is seriously concerned about the welfare of the officers, saying ” We have bought patrol vehicles and with the state of the earth technology that can checkmate crimes.

“We believe no officer should die in the course of fighting crimes. To this end, body armour have been procured to protect us while confronting the evil doers. If you kill one police officer, the government has lost the money spent to train such man”.

Defending the arrest of 36 Nigerians vandalising businesses belonging to South Africans in reaction to the xenophobic attacks, Adamu explained that the arrest was lawful and justifiable.

He said Nigeria is a country being governed by laws, adding that the arrest was done to portray Nigerians as law abiding citizens before the global community.

“The arrest showed that Nigeria is a country that has laws and it shows that we can never behave the way others behaved.

“No individual is allowed to take law into his hands. The Federal government is dealing with the issue of killings and attacks on Nigerians in South Africa.

“The fact that Nigerians are being attacked over there shouldn’t be a reason for anybody to attack the businesses of South African nationals.

“Those who did that are unpatriotic and they are criminals and that was why we arrested some of them and we will prosecute them,” he said.

The Ekiti State police Commissioner, Asuquo Amba, said the police have been able to reduce crimes in Ekiti due to hardwork displayed by his men.

He said his command has also maintained robust and smooth collaborations with other sister agencies to maintain security of lives and property.

The Chairman of the Ekiti State Traditional Rulers and the Alawe of Ilawe Ekiti, Oba Adebanji Alabi, said the commended the IGP and promised that the body will continually support the police to make Ekiti safe.

“It is herculean task to combat pocket of insecurity in the state but we will continue to support you in the discharge of your constitutional responsibility to guarantee security of lives and property.

“And the priority should be on the welfare of the police to be able to discharge their onerous responsibilities expected of them because an hungry man is an angry man, ” he added.

Adefarati said that available information was that some farmers were collaborating with criminals to the extent of supplying them and their victims, food stuff and information about security movement.
He warned that anyone caught would “face the music of the unpatriotic act.’’
He also gave the farmers a two-week ultimatum to pay their yearly dues to avoid arrest and loss of their farms.
Adefarati, who said that the agreed fee was N10,000 per rope, decried the farmers’ failure to pay the agreed amount to the government as and when due.
“Ondo State Government’s patience is running out over the recalcitrant attitude of most of the farmers in honouring the agreement in paying their dues to the government.
“To ensure compliance, we have directed the governor’s task force to arrest any defaulters as from the first week of August.
“Such defaulters, apart from paying the amount, would lose their farm to more patriotic and serious farmers,” he said.
He said that camp heads would be held responsible for any lapses.
According to him, as part of measures to develop agriculture, the government has approved construction and rehabilitation of 60km farm roads across the state, and purchase of 20 tractors and five Hilux vans to make life better for farmers.

Chief Babatunde Ero from Ifon, Owo, who spoke on behalf of the farmers and camp heads, appealed to the them to pay the fee to avoid losing their farms.

  • Confession: We demanded $30m ransom to Free Buhari’s district head – Suspected Kidnapper

One of the suspects arrested over the abduction of the District Head of Daura, Alhaji Musa Umar Uba, an in-law of President Muhammadu Buhari, yesterday spoke on how they demanded $30 million from the family of the traditional ruler before they could release him.
The suspect, Yusuf Dahiru, who was paraded in Abuja along with 39 other suspected kidnappers, however, said they were yet to receive any ransom before their arrest in Kano.
Thirteen of those paraded were involved in the abduction of Uba from his Daura home in Katsina State on May 1.
Uba was, however, rescued at Gangan Ruwa quarters in Kumbotso Local Government Area of Kano State on July 1 by a joint security operatives.
During the parading of the suspects yesterday, the Inspector General of Police, Mr. Mohammed Adamu, called for stringent penalties to discourage kidnappings, which he said was thriving because of laxity in law.
Another suspect, Sarkila Abdul, said two of the suspects received training in Libya on how to disarm armed personnel, especially security agents and conduct ambush attacks.
Parading the suspects yesterday, Adamu called for tougher legislation against kidnapping.
Adamu, represented by the Force Public Relations Officer, Mr. Frank Mba, a Deputy Commissioner of Police, said tougher legislation against kidnapping was imperative now because of the “dispersal effect of crime”, kidnappers move to places where there are weak laws to operate.
“When you don’t have a uniform law, they are advised by their legal handlers to move to places with weaker laws. It is important that there is a uniformity of laws to stem kidnapping.
“I am calling for tougher legislation at the federal and state levels as a matter of urgency to review the laws and make them stronger as it relates to kidnapping,” he said.
According to him, one of the suspects was arrested several times, jailed but somehow managed to find his way out to set up another kidnap gang.
He pledged that the police would be more diligent henceforth in prosecuting the suspects.
He said 13 of the suspects were directly linked to the kidnapping of Uba, who was kidnapped and held for 60 days, and gave the age bracket of the suspects as ranging between 20 and 46
    years.
He stated that five of them were from Katsina, four from Daura and the rest from Kano, adding that the arrest of the suspects was made possible through the cooperation of the communities where the kidnapping took place.
Adamu added that the special squads from the IG’s office also recovered nine AK 47 rifles, 383 live ammunition and six other weapons from the suspects.
“We also recovered a cache of chemicals used to produce explosives, three hand grenades of military calibre. These are not smoke grenades and teargas capable of taking down an entire structure,” he added.

  • Police parade 13 suspected kidnappers of Buhari's town head

The Police on Monday paraded 13 suspects who were directly linked to the kidnap of the district head of Daura in Katsina State.

The district head, Magajin Garin Daura, Alhaji Musa Umar Daura was kidnapped at his residence in Daura on the 1st of May, 2019.
He was rescued on the 2nd of July by operatives from IGP Intelligence Response Team led by DCP Abba Kyari.
Out of the 13 of the suspects paraded, four are from Daura while eight are from different states in the northern part of the country.
One other suspect is from Niger Republic.
Two out of the suspects are said to have undergone training in Libya. The suspects said they were trained in Libya on musketry and how to disarm members of the Armed Forces and police plus other terrorism related trainings.
The suspects are; Aminu Saleh, Yusuf Dahiru, Abdullahi Mohammed, Bilal Yusuf, Sarfilu Abdu, Dahiru Musa, Tukur Bukar, Ibrahim Ibrahim, Mohammed Saidu, Abubakar Adamu, Mustapha Zakariyya, Ibrahim Mohammed and Bako Mustapha.

Laptops with video clips of how explosives are made and other manuals of how other dangerous weapons are made are also said to be contained in the system recovered from them.
The suspects demanded $30million ransom from the families of the victim but they said nothing was paid before he was eventually rescued by police operatives.
The suspects were also said to be responsible for kidnapping and killing of expatriates who own and work in Mothercat Construction Companies in Kano and Kaduna State.
The Force Spokesman who spoke during the parade said: “From our analysis, we discovered that the suspects are composed of persons from different states and backgrounds. They are males with the average age of 30. The oldest is 46 while the youngest is 20. The youngest played the key role in the whole operation.
“We discovered that there are external collaborators because one of them is from Niger Republic. The gangs are also powered by local criminals and operators because the plan was orchestrated by someone from Katsina State.”
Mba said the successes recorded by the operatives were due to the concept of community policing adding that President Muhammadu Buhari has directed that the concept be implemented across the country.
He also called for stringent legislation to help tackle the menace of kidnapping and cattle rustling.
He said: “We are using this opportunity to call for the strengthening of the legislation as it relates to the crime of kidnapping and cattle rustling. Our lawmakers at all levels should urgently review laws bordering on kidnapping.
“They should come up with stronger and stringent laws so that Police and other security agencies will be better empowered because our effort will amount to nothing without uninformed legislation.”
Mba also noted that all the suspects will be properly prosecuted in competent courts upon the conclusion of investigation.
