  • Gospel singer Kirk Franklin lash out on pastor demanding $54m to buy fourth aircraft

    Popular American Gospel Singer and songwriter, Kirk Franklin has frowned at a request by a pastor, Jessie Duplantis for donations to buy his fourth air plane at the cost of $54 million.

    Duplantis is an Evangelical Charismatic Christian Minister based in New Orleans, Louisiana, US, and the founder of Jesse Duplantis Ministries.

    The “Thank you’’ hit maker took to his instagram @kirkfranklin to express his sadness with the picture of 68-year old Duplantis.

    The 48-year old song writer, Choir director and author is known for leading urban contemporary gospel choir such as The Family, God’s Property and One Nation Crew.

    He has won multiple awards including 12 Grammy awards.

    The Texas born artist also featured in movies which include “Joyful Noise’’, “The Gospel’’, “Something to say About’’ and many others.

  • Fans locked out of Tim Godfrey Fearless Concert

    Not everyone who attended the much publicized, Tim Godfrey fearless concert featuring Kirk Franklin held on Sunday 13th of August has a sweet tale to tell.

     

    The Concert which was held at Rock Cathedral , Lekki Lagos was marred by congestion as the church auditorium was already filled to the brim even before the concert kicked off in the evening.

     

    TheNewsGuru gathered that celebrities like Yaw, MC Abbey, Ubi Franklin, Immaculate and others couldn’t gain access initially into the auditorium because of the enormous crowd.

    This reporter was outside for more over 2 hours before gaining entry into the auditorium.

    Days before the concert held, the convener Tim Godfrey, had warned attendees to get to the venue early in order to secure comfortable seats. Despite the online registration, some of the attendees had to go back home.

  • America’s Kirk Franklin to headline gospel concert in Lagos

    America’s renowned gospel artiste, Kirk Franklin is set to headline a gospel musical concert scheduled to hold on August 13 in Lagos. The concert is tagged Fearless Worship. Franklin, who is also a choir director and author, is known for leading urban contemporary gospel choirs such as The Family, God’s Property and One Nation Crew (1NC), and has won multiple awards, including 12 Grammy Awards.

    The concert is put together by Nigeria’s multi-talented gospel artiste, Tim Godfrey and his Xtreme crew. It is schedule to hold at the Rock Cathedral of the House on the Rock in Lagos. Paul Adefarasin, the Senior Pastor of House On The Rock Churches said:“Tim Godfrey is a son and one of the icons raising the banner of Jesus using the tool of music. We are excited to be part of an historic concert hosting Kirk Franklin at The Rock Cathedral”.

     

    Godfrey, writer and producer of the popular song ‘Na You Be God,’ also went on to say, “We are built to be Fearless and this year is special for me personally because my music has mirrored Kirk Franklin’s. He is one of the biggest influences on my musical career. It is great honor to host the great gospel icon. I imagine that the city of Lagos and Nigeria will shake for Jesus and lives will be transformed. Fearless is a gospel musical concert borne out of the need to create a platform to celebrate the work of Jesus on the Cross and the victory it gives to believers.
