    How Nigerian govt secured Kizz Daniels release from custody of Tanzanian police

    Chairman/CEO, Nigerians in Diaspora Commission, (NIDCOM) Abike Dabiri-Erewa, on Monday night, revealed how the Nigerian government got popular singer and songwriter, Oluwatobiloba Daniel, aka Kizz Daniel, released from the custody of Tanzanian police.

     

    Dabiri tweeted in a response to how the Nigerian Embassy in Tanzania was assisting Kiss Daniel to ensure his release from the custody of the police.

     

    “His legal team will however report back to the police tomorrow while he will subsequently return back to Nigeria,” she said.

    TheNewsGuru.com reports that Kizz Daniel was detained by police in Dar es Salaam after he failed to show up for a performance on Sunday, July 7 at the Summer Amplified concert at Warehouse arena.

     

    In a short video, Tanzanian police officers are seen picking up the ‘Buga’ singer in the police pickup, alongside two other people in his management team, at the Johari Rotana Hotel in the City Center.

     

    In another separate video, the singer and his team was later seen arriving at the Oysterbay Police Station under tight security.

    In the viral video, Kiss Daniel was seen wearing a black hoodie while being escorted into a Tanzanian police van.

     

    Several voices in the background of the video kept calling out to the singer as they repeatedly said ‘I warned you, you have caused a very big damage’ and the other voice stressed ‘apologize to these people, they gonna kill you Kizz Daniel.

     

    His arrest was after the chaos that was unveiled at the warehouse club early today where fans waited for the singer to perform from 10pm until sunrise causing damages that are yet to be specified.

     

    The organisers were said to have arrested Kizz Daniel and some of his crew members from their hotel as a result of the no-show.

     

    The singer was reported to have arrived in the country earlier but refused to perform because of unavailability of his clothes.

     

    But while reacting to a tweet on Monday night from a Twitter user pleading for FG’s intervention, Abike clarified that: “KD has been released.

     

    “His legal team will however report back to the police tomorrow while he will subsequently return back to Nigeria.”

    The Lagos State Police has invited Nigerian singer, Oluwatobiloba Daniel Anidugbe, aka Kizz Daniel, for questioning following a complaint that he confiscated a laundry bus over his N14 million worth of clothes damaged.

     

    According to a source, the singer contracted the dry cleaner to do laundry for him.

     

    The singer reportedly seized the bus on grounds that the N14 million worth of clothes he gave them to clean were damaged.

     

    The owners of the laundry bus reported the matter to men of the Ilasan police division who immediately invited him for questioning.

     

    The singer’s lawyer contacted the police today August 5 and said that he will be available for questioning on Tuesday, August 9.

     

    However, the laundry bus has since been recovered.

    Kizz Daniel is best known for his singles “Woju” and “Yeba”.

     

    He went by the stage name Kiss Daniel prior to changing it in May 2018.

     

    The singer signed a record deal with G-Worldwide Entertainment in 2013, but left the label following a publicized contract dispute and court case.

     

    He founded the Fly Boy Inc record label in November 2017.

    Kizz Daniel, who hails from Abeokuta North local government area, attended Abeokuta Grammar School and graduated from Federal University of Agriculture, Abeokuta, in 2013, with a degree in Water Resources Management and Agrometeorology (Water Engineering).

     

    While in university, he decided to pursue music as a career alongside his studies.

     

    In May 2015, Kizz Daniel released a third follow up single, “Laye,” on his birthday, along with a video two weeks later which was shot in different locations in the eastern part of Africa and was directed by AJE FILMS.[citation needed] Daniel released his first studio album titled New Era on May 14, 2016.

     

    After his exit from his former label G-WorldWide, he went to float his own personal imprint FLYBOY I.N.C. which recently signed two new acts Demmie Vee and Philkeyz.

     

    After which Kizz Daniel was featured on Demmie Vee single entitled “You Go Wait?”.

     

    2018 was sure a good year for the WOJU crooner, he featured Wizkid on a Hit Song “FOR YOU” and Davido on another single “One Ticket” which hit the charts within 24hrs of its release.

     

    On the 30th of December 2018, Kizz Daniel released his 2nd Studio album and his first under FlyBoy Inc titled “No Bad Songz”.

    The album contained 20 Songs including the pre-released One Ticket which he featured Davido. Other features on the Album included Nasty C, Diamond Platiumz, Philkeyz, Demmie Vee, Dj Xclusive, Wretch 32, Diplo and Sarkodie.

     

    The album received positive reviews from music lovers, it debuted at No 55 on the US iTunes Chart and became number 1 on the world Album Chart within 24 hours of its release. On 25 June 2020, he released his third studio album ‘King of Love’.

     

    In 2017, many of his fans thought he would make a career switch to comedy as he was uploading comedy skits. However he said he has no intention of switching to comedy as music is his main talent.

     

    On May 4, 2022, he released a chart-topping single titled Buga.

    Nigerian highlife singer, Harrysong has finally opened up on why he recorded another version of his hit song, Selense, with Iyanya and Dice Ailes, and stopped the publicity of the original version which featured Kizz Daniel and Reekado Banks.

    The Reggae Blues singer noted that he was upset because Kizz Daniel refused to work on any song with Reekado Banks.

     

    Speaking via his manager, Desmond Ike, Harrysong said: “It wasn’t about what Kizz Daniel said on the song; there is nothing out of place about it. When you do something with people and they don’t make it easy for you, you have to look for a way to sort yourself out. Harrysong originally did the song with Reekado Banks and Kizz Daniel but at a point, Daniel said he didn’t want to star in the video because Reekado would be in it. He said he didn’t want to have anything to do with Reekado. We tried to sort out the issue between both of them so that we could shoot the video but Daniel refused vehemently; he didn’t want any reconciliation. Because of that, we decided to do another version of the song with Iyanya and Dice Ailes. Kizz Daniel was just being arrogant about the whole thing and behaving like he is a demigod”,he told Punch.

     

    Recall that the rift between Kizz Daniel and Reekado may have begun back in 2016 when Reekado Banks won the Headies Next Rated award over Daniel, Korede Bello, and Lil Kesh. That year, the award was a source of controversy between fans and artistes alike.

    Afro-pop singer, Kiss Daniel has changed his moniker to KIzz Daniel.

    This name change came as a result of his legal battle with his former record label, G-Worldwide.

  • Report on Kiss Daniel’s victory in court is false – G-Worldwide

    Following widely circulated online reports that victory has been handed to popular singer, Kiss Daniel over his legal battle with erstwhile label, G-Worldwide, the label has debunked the online reports.

    Some online news platform had reported that Kiss Daniel won the court case filed against him by G-Worldwide Entertainment.

    A representative of the label , Louissa Williams in a chat with Punch said: “The report online that Kiss Daniel has won the case we have against him in court is not true; the case was adjourned till May 16, 2018.

    The case is still ongoing. We saw the report online and everything is false. The case has only been adjourned and since it is in court, I would not be able to say much about it. When everything blows over and it is settled, we would release an official report.”

     

    Recall that solicitors to Kiss Daniel had said that “it is laughable and unbelievable that G-Worldwide Entertainment Ltd will purportedly claim to own or have dashed Anidugbe his own middle name. His solicitors L & A-Legal Consultants in a statement signed by Oluwaseyi Lawal (Esq) and titled ‘What G-Worldwide Entertainment Ltd will not tell you’ said that the Federal High Court in Lagos did not stop Oluwatobiloba Daniel Anidugbe from using the stage name “Kiss Daniel” but rather refused G-Worldwide Entertainment Ltd the application to stop him from performing, recording or using the stage name Kiss Daniel.

    Everyone knows Chidinma for her musical exploits and conquests. However, the winner of Project Fame West Africa Season 3 has always had a question mark on her love life.

     

    She was recently romantically linked with Kiss Daniel after the ‘Woju’ singer posted a video showing Chidinma sitting on a bed playing with her phone and laughing as he filmed her.

    He captioned simply captioned the video with a love emoji.

    Court adjourns legal battle between Kiss Daniel, G-Worldwide

    The legal battle between Kiss Daniel and his estranged record label G-Worldwide has been adjourned to the 16th of May.

     

    According to reports, The Federal High Court in Lagos ruled that as the same evidence which was presented for the grant of the injunctions are same with those submitted to the court for the trial and main issue, the court is forced to make an order for an accelerated hearing and trial of the matter.

     

    However both parties alongside their witnesses are expected to tender their evidence and testify on May 16.

     

    This battle triggered from Kiss Daniel’s premature exit from G-Worldwide to set up his own label; Flyboi Inc. Both parties have purportedly taken steps to settle out of court, but it has not yielded any fruit.
