His fans on Twitter have expressed their displeasure over a provocative part of the song. They noted that the ‘Uncle stop touching’ part in some way encourages sexual assault.

Reacting to the negative comments, Kiss Daniel wrote on Twitter: “The song teaches our ladies to speak out against what they haven’t consented to and for the men to realize that if a lady says No, No means No. Apologize and don’t go further, hence the reply by the guy…”sorry madam”. The fact that a lady agrees to dance with you doesn’t translate to sexual consent”.

  • G-worldwide serves Kiss Daniel court papers

Following weeks of hide- and- seek, Yeba crooner, Kiss Daniel has finally been served court papers by his former record label, G-Worldwide Entertainment.

A Federal High Court in Lagos had on November 30, established an order that all parties should maintain the status quo concerning the contract that was initially signed in 2013.

However, Daniel had supposedly refused to receive the court papers for some weeks, which led the court to grant an order of substituted service, that the papers should be pasted on the gate of his house in Lekki Phase Two, Ajah-Lekki, Lagos, and in a national daily.

According to the label, the court papers were pasted on Daniel’s gate on Friday, December 15, 2017.

In the writ of summons served on the artiste, the court ordered Kiss Daniel to make an appearance before it within 30 days of receiving the court papers, or the case would go to trial in his absence.

Other papers served on the ‘Mama’ singer include: order for substituted service, writ of summons, witness list, witness’ statement under oath, status quo order, among others.

As at the time of filing this report, Kiss Daniel is yet to respond nor confirm that he has truly received the court papers.

  • Why Kiss Daniel did not attend own father’s burial – G-Worldwide

Why Kiss Daniel did not attend own father’s burial – G-Worldwide

Ever since reports of the rift between Kiss Daniel and his estranged label, G-worldwide broke out, there has been a myriad of opinions over the feud.

According to some unverified reports, the label allegedly paid Kiss Daniel a paltry salary of N30, 000 monthly until after he released his sophomore single, Laye. However, the label debunked the claim, adding that it had paid over N120m to the singer since the contract was signed.

Kiss Daniel’s team had also noted that G-Worldwide prevented the Yeba singer from attending his father’s burial in 2015. However, in a report made available to newsmen, the label denied the accusation.

“Immediately the news of his father’s demise filtered in, Emperor Geezy, CEO of the label, authorised that his personal car should be used to convey Kiss Daniel to Abeokuta to attend his father’s burial. The singer only requested for two days’ leave, and N200,000 to send to his relatives, who had to bury the dad immediately because he was a Muslim. At that time, Kiss was bitterly angry that none of his family members could come up with even N10,000 to support his dad’s burial.

“The company was willing to give him more money but he said he needed only N200,000. The label CEO’s brother and one other person from the company even accompanied him on the trip back home. Interestingly, on arriving at a hotel in Abeokuta, which had been fully paid for by the label, Kiss refused to attend his own father’s burial on the grounds that he believed that his family was fetish. He said that his father’s death was not ordinary, considering the way he suddenly fell ill and died, after going through a lot of pain. He was scared and said he did not want to be exposed to any dangers. On the night of his arrival in Abeokuta, his younger brother was on his way to visit him when he got involved in a car accident. The label took care of his brother’s medical bills, and paid up to N300,000,” the statement read.

  • Why Kiss Daniel terminated contract with G-worldwide

Why Kiss Daniel terminated contract with G-worldwide

There seem to be no closure over Kiss Daniel’s rift with former record label, G-worldwide.

The singer’s departure from the erstwhile label has resulted in a lawsuit and counter lawsuit. L&A Legal Consultants, legal representatives of Daniel, noted that the singer terminated his contract as he is permitted to do under the terms and agreement of the deal.

The ‘Yeba’ crooner was said to have requested for a review of the record label’s books, and after failing to get a satisfactory response, chose to terminate his contract.

A statement released by L&A Legal Consultants read in part: “Kiss Daniel did not walk out of his contract. He only terminated it as he is permitted to do under the contract. Is it now a sin for a party to exercise a right expressly conferred on him by law/contract? Is it the fault of Kiss Daniel that the contract has a termination clause that allows Kiss Daniel to terminate the contract?

“We should bear in mind that the contract was drafted by G-Worldwide Entertainment. Kiss Daniel scrupulously followed the provision of the contract. It is unfortunate that people are mixing this case up with that of other artists running away from a contract they signed. No! This is different.

“This is a case of an Artist insisting that the contract signed by the parties must be obeyed and enforced. Kiss Daniel is firm believer in rule of law and due process.

“This was why it was Kiss Daniel that went to court first. People should not confuse a case of properly terminated contract with cases of ill-advised artists who angrily walked out of their contract without following the laid down procedure under their contracts.

“Kiss Daniel’s case is a well thought out act. It is an exercise of right granted to him by the contract between him and his label. What do people want from Nigerian artist? If they don’t employ lawyers, people criticize them.

“The only offence commented by Kiss Daniel was his effrontery/impudence by daring to ask his record label to render account! Kiss Daniel through his lawyer L & A – Legal Consultant appointed a firm of Chartered Accountant to inspect and audit G-Worldwide Entertainments books and account in respect of Kiss Daniel’s project as provided by the contract between the parties. Immediately the request was made, all hell was let loose.

“Unfortunately, when the inspection/audit finally held, Kiss Daniel’s Accountant was denied unrestricted access to the “books/records” in clear breach of the unambiguous provisions of clause 7 of the Contract (as posted above). Kiss Daniel’s Accountant were surprised that Label did not come to the venue of the inspection/audit with any physical books, receipts, invoices e.t.c. but only brought a mere laptop! And even refused to allow Kiss Daniel’s Accountant to make a copy of the said “books/records” contrary to the contract. It was also discovered that the representative sent by G-worldwide Entertainment Limited and who brought the laptop is not an accountant and did not know anything about the transactions recorded in the laptop. He could not answer any of the questions/queries posted to him by Kiss Daniel’s Accountant.

“Unfortunately, when Kiss Daniel’s lawyer gave G-worldwide Entertainments Limited notice of the breach on 11th and 19th of September 2017, G-worldwide Entertainments Limited failed and refused to cure and remedy the breach within the 14 days allowed by the contract and Kiss Daniel was forced to comply with the

  • Kiss Daniel is misleading the public- G- Worldwide declares

There seem to be no end to the legal battle between Kiss Daniel and G-Worldwide, his previous record label, as the feud has gotten messier.

Earlier on Tuesday, the label in an official statement written by their lawyers revealed that the label is taking legal action against the Woju singer

In the same vein, Kiss Daniel through his legal counsels replied G-worldwide saying they had not been served any letters or court documents.

In a new reply, G-Worldwide has stated that Kiss Daniel is misleading the public by misinforming them.

According to a statement by their lawyers: “The attempt to mislead the public is unfortunate and disgraceful. We expect him to say he has received the documents and him and his team are working to respond to the claims” the statement read.

See the new statement and court papers below.

Entertainment Lawyer, Akinyemi Ayinoluwa stated that it is obvious Kiss Daniel didn’t have lawyers when he signed the contract.

According to him: “It is obvious that from inception, Kiss Daniel didn’t have the right legal advisers, so he doesn’t have much leverage in that context, he is not to blame because at his level five years ago, one was young, and just chasing his dreams, so one might not have seen the full picture or be able to afford a good lawyer to advise him. You might just go to an estate lawyer or a criminal lawyer or any lawyer that does not understand the business of entertainment, but I think at that point in time, he didn’t do his homework to understand the conversation to even negotiate anything, that is why he is stuck now”.
