Politicians listen to my suggestions every time -KWAM 1
Fuji music maestro, Chief Wasiu Ayinde Marshal better known as KWAM 1 has averred that politicians listen to his suggestions.
The revered Fuji musician made this known at the maiden edition of ‘Fuji: A Opera’.
In his words: “They (politicians) are ready to listen to me at any time. They (politicians) listen to my suggestion, and they let my suggestion work nicely for them. And anyone that does so, has something good at the end of the tunnel for them because I didn’t go to them for primary reasons of collecting money.
“So I got sincere with my suggestion to them every time and they do listen. Unfortunately, in every society, we have a good one and the bad one. My concern is do to people what is necessary, Nigerians don’t need too much from a politician. Somebody wants to leave work at 5 pm from Victoria Island and go to Mowe Ibafo and within a time travel of 30 minutes, you are back to forgetting that you’ve gone for work. So that is my concern. That’s why I want to advise the government, why there must be an effective railway system where it is not necessarily everybody must own a car and stuff. You can imagine somebody living in New Jersey and works in New York. So those are the things and we’re using it as we use it.”
‘Fuji: A Opera,’ a week-long program that focused on revitalising and reimagining the Fuji musical genre for a new audience, paraded a VIP preview of the exhibition doubled as a celebration of the life of Fuji Music’s legend, the late Alhaji Sikiru Ayinde Barrister. The date coincided with the 10th year remembrance of the Fuji Icon.

I can swear Olori Ajoke didn’t have affair with KWAM 1 – Olori Folashade
Olori Folashade Adeyemi, one of the numerous wives of the Alaafin of Oyo, Oba Lamidi Adeyemi, has debunked claims that her fellow queen, Olori Ajoke, did have an affair with fuji maestro, K1 de Ultimate,
The young mother made this known in a chat with The Nation.
TheNewsGuru recalls that report that Olori Ajoke and K1, in January, had an affair spread like wildfire on social media in April.
Both denied the rumour with the queen calling on the gods to punish her if she did what she was accused of.
Olori Folashade described the incident as “quite unfortunate.”
“All those things that you heard were mere fabrications. Such a thing never happened. They were all lies.
“The story really made all of us sad when it broke, because we knew that such a thing never happened.
“Unknown to many, KWAM 1 is well known in the palace. He takes us as his mothers. He treats us with respect.
“I can swear that such a thing never happened.”
Back in April, the fuji icon also debunked the allegations in a statement by his media adviser, Kunle Rasheed, made available to TheNewsGuru.
The statement read in part, “The attention of Fuji Maestro and Mayegun of Yorubaland, Alhaji Wasiu Ayinde Marshal, K1 De Ultimate, has been drawn to the rumour making the rounds in the past 48 hours, on social media platforms, where it has been alleged that the music icon was having an affair with Olori Ajoke, one of the wives of Alayeluwa, the Alaafin of Oyo, His Imperial Majesty, Oba Lamidi Adeyemi 111.
“Let me categorically state that the allegation is falsely concocted from the pit of hell by those whose aim is to drag to the mud, the name of K1 De Ultimate and ultimately that of the most revered kingdom in Yoruba land. These agents of Lucifer have continued in their warped delusions to see K1 go to the ground just for being conferred with the title of Mayegun of Yoruba land,” Mr Rasheed noted.
Mr Rasheed also hinted that his principal would be instituting legal action against the author of the news.
“Let me remind the rumour mongers that Nigeria has adequate laws to bring anyone who has embarked on character assassination of the innocent to book. Fans and the general public should rest assured that we will legally seek redress for this allegation.”
Speaking with Nigerian journalist and founder of Ovation magazine, Dele Momodu, in an Instagram live video, the Fuji singer said the people spewing the ‘malicious’ rumours are merely jealous of his recent coronation as the Mayegun of Yorubaland.
“When one is eating, one should be careful to not eat what will put you in trouble. It is an abomination. It is taboo. In the end, this is all about the hatred of me becoming the Maiyegun. Recently, we discovered that some people are disagreeing amongst themselves on the subject,” he said.

COVID-19: Lagos clears air on KWAM 1’s performance at Oba Lawal’s coronation
The Lagos State Government has stated that popular Fuji musician, King Wasiu Ayinde Marshall, was not physically present to perform at the recent coronation ceremony of Oba Abdul Wasiu Omogbolahan Lawal, the Oniru of Iru Kingdom.
A statement released by Chief Press Secretary to Lagos State Governor, Gboyega Akosile, stated that his performance was virtual in line with the COVID-19 regulations.
According to Gboyega, the rebuttal became necessary following social media reports which stated that the popular musician was physically present and COVID-19 regulations were breached.
He said: “Contrary to reports in some quarters of the social media that King Wasiu Ayinde Marshall was invited to perform at the recent coronation ceremony of Alaiyeluwa Oba Abdul Wasiu Omogbolahan Lawal, the Oniru of Iru Kingdom, K1 was not physically present at the occasion.
“His performance was virtual in line with the new order.
“It is also important to state that the traditional rites and presentation of the Staff of Office and other instruments of appointment, were held under strict compliance with the COVID-19 protocols on social distancing.
For the record, Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu, on Sunday, 7th of June 2020, officially presented the Staff of Office and other instruments of appointment to Oba Abdulwasiu Gbolahan Lawal.
He became the 15th Oniru of Iruland after 85 years the kingship left his Abisogun clan.
The throne became vacant last year after the 14th Oniru, Oba Idowu Oniru, joined his ancestors.

KWAM 1 to seek legal redress over alleged romance with Alaafin’s Wife
Fuji music maestro , Wasiu Ayinde has reacted over allegations that he is having a romantic affair with Olori Ajoke, one of the wives of the Alaafin of Oyo.
In a statement signed by his media adviser, Kunle Rasheed, the Mayegun of Yorubaland noted that the allegations are all rumours, spread by the agents of Lucifer.
Read the full statement below:
“The attention of Fuji Maestro and Mayegun of Yorubaland, Alhaji Wasiu Ayinde Marshal, K1 De Ultimate, has been drawn to the rumour making the rounds in the past 48 hours, on social media platforms, where it has been alleged that the music icon was having an affair with Olori Ajoke, one of the wives of Alayeluwa, the Alaafin of Oyo, His Imperial Majesty, Oba Lamidi Adeyemi 111.
Ordinarily, one would have waved off this allegation as one coming from the warped mind of one possibly numbed by high COVID-19 fever.
But as known in these parts, a lie repeatedly told, has a way of transmuting to the truth.
Let me categorically state that the rumour is lies concocted from the pit of hell by those whose aim is to drag to the mud, the name of K1 De Ultimate and ultimately that of the most revered kingdom in Yoruba land.
These agents of Lucifer have continued in their warped delusions to see K1 go to the ground just for being conferred with the title of Mayegun of Yoruba land. The Alaafin’s crime is the conferment of the honour, hence the grim plot to drag him down also. Moreover, the highly respected Monarch and his Olori have both debunked the story as baseless and unfounded.
For the records, as the Mayegun of Yorubaland, K1 is aware of the customs and traditions of the Yoruba and as such, can not put the culture and tradition of the Yorubaland to disrepute.
Let me remind the rumour mongers that Nigeria has adequate laws to bring anyone who has embarked on character assassination of the innocent to book. The fans and the general public should rest assured that we will legally seek redress for this allegation”

Alaafin blasts clubbing-monarchs, installs KWAM 1 Mayegun of Yorubaland
The Alaafin of Oyo, His Imperial Majesty, Oba Lamidi Adeyemi 111, yesterday deplored the attitude of some Yoruba monarchs who club, smoke and drink, saying that they had no honours and should not be accorded any respect.
Alaafin, who is the permanent Chairman of the Oyo State Council of Obas and Chiefs, said this in his palace during the installation of a Fuji maestro, King Wasiu Ayinde Marshall as the Mayegun of Yorubaland.
The event graced by Minister of Information and Culture, Alhaji Lai Mohammed, and Minister of Interior, Rauf Aregbesola; Babafemi Ojudu; the Ooni of Ife, Oba Adeyeye Ogunwusi; the Olubadan of Ibadan, Oba Soliu Adetunji; officials of the Oyo State government and government functionaries from other states in the South-West; traditional rulers and chiefs and leading Nollywood artistes among others.
The Alaafin, while responding to news making the rounds in the social media that after Ayinde’s coronation, he was not to postrate to some kings in the land anymore, said, “I did not mean that he should disrespect the royal fathers.
To the Alaafin, gone were the days when Yoruba people were silent about the exploits of their own while they were being honoured in other lands as he made reference to late but leading artistes such as IK Dairo, Haruna Ishola and many others who left with great impacts without commensurate honours.
Alaafin said: “He understands the culture and I am not saying that he should disrespect the culture. But, kings who go about clubbing and drinking do not deserve any respect.
“As we all know, there are three tiers of government. We have the Executive, the Judiciary and the Legislature. The media is regarded as the Fourth Estate of the realm, and musicians are a vital part of the media.
“Through music, some of them criticised government’s excesses. A king who wants progress for his people should listen to good words of music that are deliberately picked to correct societal problems. I looked round and acknowledged the efforts of some of our musicians who are not just singing for the sake of it.
“For a long time, I have been documenting some of the works of our good musicians in Yorubaland. IK Dairo of blessed memory was honoured in the United Kingdom many years ago. Then, Sunny Ade was discovered. They called him King of Juju music. What we have done is to discover our own talents. The music of Wasiu is philosophical. It is time we honoured our own.
“I did not mean that Wasiu will not respect the culture after being installed. He will honour our kings but will not prostrate to kings who are ignoble. A king should not be drinking (alcohol) at clubs and in public places and a king should not smoke.”

KWAM 1 opens up on rift with Ambode
Widely acclaimed king of Fuji music, K1 De Ultimate, born Wasiu Ayinde Marshal hasopened up on his alleged rift with Lagos State Governor, Akinwunmi Ambode.
Recall that back in 2018, K1 De Ultimate released an Instagram video where he was captured sharing his opinion on the best governors Lagos State has ever had, omitting the name of incumbent governor, Akinwunmi Ambode.
Though he didn’t directly mention Ambode’s name, speaking in Yoruba, he referred to a governor of Lagos State as a mad man, saying, repeatedly,“Were ti bi”, meaning “that other mad man”.
However in a recent interview on Your View on Television Continental, the acclaimed singer noted that what transpired between them is strictly a family affair.
In his words:” My rift with Ambode is purely a family affair. I am party person and the governor is a symbol of our party in Lagos. Whatever situation that happened at that time should be regarded as a family affair”.
When asked to advice young men on their choice of a life partner, he said: ”Every young man out there needs to plan their life. Whenever you want to settle down don’t just look at the beauty of the woman. Look at the resourcefulness of the woman. Look out for a woman that is agile and ready to serve as your companion. Don’t just pick her because she is beautiful”.

KWAM 1’s son gets bail
…..‘He isn’t part of the crime’-Publicist insists
Fuji maestro, KWAM 1 ‘s son would be in the best of mood at the moment as his son, Sultan has gotten bail following his arrest in the United States over allegedly taking part in a $2million fraud.
Recall that TNG had reported that Sultan along with eight others, allegedly involved in online romance and ‘mystery shopper’ schemes through which unsuspecting victims have lost at least $2 million in two years.
All the accused were rounded up following an international investigation into cyber-enabled fraud schemes in and out of America by a Chicago-based investigative team.
The arrested suspects in Illinois are named as KWAM 1’s son, Sultan Omogbadebo Anifowoshe, 26, aka Ayinde; Babatunde Ibraheem Akarigidi, 39; Miracle Ayokunle Okunola, 21; Olurotimi Akitunde Idowu, 55; Daniel Samuel Eta, 35; Babatunde Ladehinde Labiyi, 20; Barnabas Oghenerukevwe Edjieh, 29.
In a chat with Legit.ng, KWAM 1’s publicist , Kunle Rasheed noted that Sultan wasn’t involved in the crime.
“Our attention has been drawn to the news circulating that Sultan, K1 De Ultimate’s son was arrested alongside five other people in the US over Two million Dollars fraud. There is no doubt that he was among those that were arrested but what is however not true is that he is a fraudster. We can confidently say that he was not in any way involved in the crime, which explains the reason why he was the only person that was released on bail. The bail given to Sultan indicates that he is not involved in the crime; he is only a victim of circumstance who happened to be at a wrong place at a wrong time. Many detractors are quick to celebrate the news because to them, they want to get to the father. But the truth will always shine as light over darkness. Sultan, we believe will be given a clean bill of health.”
