    Sad! Kwam 1 loses two band members in three weeks

    Fuji music veteran, King Wasiu Ayinde Marshall is once again bereaved.
    The ace singer recently lost another band member, his lead saxophonist, Mr Joel Ajayi.
    TNG reports that Joel Ajayi fell into coma during the weekend due to an undisclosed ailment and was taken for proper medical care by Kwam 1’s personal Dr, Dr Idowu Agarawu, but lost the battle to death only a week after.
    According to reports, the musician is devastated that in spite of the efforts made to keep him alive, Ajayi lost the battle to the cold hands of death as his family opted to be moved to a church for prayers, where he died on Sunday, 9th of December 2018.
    The saxophonist’s sad demise comes barely three weeks after the death of one of Kwam 1’s band boys, Dipo Odebode Aderibigbe who complained he hasn’t been able to sleep when he was invited for a show.

     

     

    K1 who has reportedly cancelled all schedules this week to mourn the loss of the two notable members of his band revealed to friends that both men never complained of being ill prior to their abrupt demise.
    According to reports both band members were committed to the growth of the fuji musician’s band and music.

    Years after the release of his hit songs like ‘Talazo’, ‘Aiye’ ‘Vivid imagination’ and ‘ Anifowoshe’ King Wasiu Ayinde Marshal, fondly called KWAM 1 has remained relevant on the Nigerian music scene.

    The revered Fuji musician has revealed that Olamide never obtained copyrights permission from him before doing a remix of his song ‘Anifowoshe’ released by Olamide in 2013.

    Speaking in a chat with Pulseng, he said:” We want to see the younger ones taking over from us and doing very well, even though he didn’t directly come to me before he did that song, but I’m happy, I’m happy and I exempt him of any punishment or lashing because he did it nicely

    ”If I had rebuked him, If I had taken it personal, If I had said because he didn’t come to me to seek for direct approval for the redoing of that number, Omo Anifowoshe is me, Anifowoshe is my father’s name.

    “There are a lot of my songs that have been done in the past, that people never come to me to ask for it, it is only in the West you don’t do things like that”.

    2019: KWAM 1 launches campaign for Buhari’s re-election [Video]

    Fuji Maestro, King Wasiu Ayinde Marshal (popularly called KWAM I) has launched the campaign for the re-election of President Muhammadu Buhari.

    Recall that Buhari recently declared his intention to seek reelection in 2019 after keeping his supporters in suspense for over a year now.
    Wasiu in the video, said Buhari is a modest politician who does not have oil blocs and is not corrupt.

    He advised Buhari’s antagonists to run for their lives if he (Buhari) wins in 2019.

     

    D’ banj, openly romanced and flocked around former President Goodluck Ebele Jonathan, as he campaigned for election. Nigerian celebrities, Onyeka Onwenu, Sammy Okposo, Chidi Mokeme, Kate Hensahw and others also campaigned for the former Nigerian president.

  • Finally! KWAM 1 marries partner of nine years[Pictures]

    Popular Fuji musician, Wasiu Ayinde Marshal a.k.a KWAM 1 finally got married legally to his partner of nine years on Saturday.

     

    He tied the knots with Fathia Opeyemi, in the presence of registrars From Ikoyi registry who coordinated the formalization of the union between him and his beautiful partner.

     

    K1 De Ultimate discovered his interest in music when he was 8. His parents initially opposed but he continued to pursue his passion and by the time he was 15 he had won various local musical competitions.

     

    He became a member of Ayinde Barrister’s band, the Supreme Fuji Commanders from 1975 to 1979.

     

    He released his first solo album ‘Abode Mecca’ in 1979 and then released his most successful album ‘Talazo 84’ in 1984 which became an instant hit.

    Veteran Fuji maestro, Wasiu Ayinde Marshal has broken the silence over the passing of his

    daughter, Olaronke Ashabi. The daughter of the singer reportedly died from diabetes complications on Tuesday.

     

    A distraught KWAM 1 took to social media on Wednesday to extol the virtues of his late daughter , adding that he accepts her passing as the will of Allah.

    According to him: “17th July 1983 -12th December 2017, The 2 dates in history and shall never be forgotten ever in my life. The first, a date you came to this world and the later the day you departed.

    “I give glory & thanks to God Almighty who gave you to me as a gift by you coming to this world for a purpose and through me, I have seen that severally while you were growing that I am privileged to be your father and also to the kind of a child that also double as my friend.

    “About your sickness and all our efforts through Medical means that was available to us to make you better failed us, neither did your prayer and that of mine and everybody that loves you never heeded by God, rather it is a direct word from God Almighty that Allah Subhanalahi Watahala wants you around him in his paradise and I totally submit to that and never question him God for doing that.

    “You embraced God and his commandments, also with your knowledge of the Holy Quran is enough testimony to the fact that you truly served your God whom you knew too well inside and outside. If you are able to look back right now this minute, you will see how people across the globe are all trying to comfort me and soften my heart with many beautiful words and verses from both Quran and Bible, the books that guide us to our creator then you will agree with me your death is well celebrated as one already in Aljanata.

    “Rest peacefully well with your creator as I have submitted to his Will without regret or complain.”

    Veteran Fuji maestro, King Wasiu Ayinde Marshal is bereaved. His daughter Wasilat Marshal, died of a yet unverified cause in Canada.

     

    Wasilat Olaronke Anifowoshe, died at the age of 34

     

    Percy Ademokun, K1’s former manager confirmed the death in a message on Facebook on Tuesday.

     

    “May the soul of Wasilat Marshal rest well and God be with K1 as he bear the loss,” Ademokun revealed on Facebook.

     

    However the family of the deceased are yet to officially confirm her demise as at the time of publishing this report.

    ‘I rehearse for 60 days before recording an album’-KWAM 1

    King Wasiu Ayinde Marshall a..k.a KWAM 1 is one music legend who contributed to the acceptance of Fuji music amongst young people in Nigeria. In order to make the genre more appealing to young people, he adopted contemporary music instruments like the saxophone, piano and others.

    Speaking on the need for young people to hone their crafts and become excellent at what they do, the Fuji maestro said he rehearses for 60 days before recording an album.

    He made this known during his presentation at the Nigerian Entertainment Conference held on Wednesday 26th of April 2017.

    According to him:”Before going into the studio, I must have rehearsed for 60 days.Going to the studio is like going to write an exam.You need to get it right.”

     

    Speaking further , he revealed, that his first trip outside Nigeria was in 1975.

    Hear him:”My first trip out of Nigeria was in 1975 and my first tour with a band was in 1980. Those of us that are older are excited about the rise of Nigerian music on the world scene” he said.
