    France forward, Kyllian Mbappe has  explained why Portugal star, Joao Felix, missed his penalty in the game against France on Friday night.

    Les Bleus qualified for the semi-final of the competition, by securing a 5-4 penalty shootout win against Portugal after both teams played out 0-0 in 120 minutes.

    Both sides converted their spot-kicks except for Joao Felix, who missed Portugal’s fourth spot kick.

    Mbappe came up with a bizarre reason for Felix missing the penalty, explaining that France goalkeeper was a ‘scary’ proposition for the player:

    “He’s scary. I don’t have the exact explanation, but when João Félix hits the post, it’s because he thinks there’s a goalkeeper in front of him who’s going to get it. We were successful, but a big part of that was down to Mike.”

    France will play Spain in the semi-final of the tournament on Tuesday.

    Kylian Mbappe scored on his return from his broken nose injury at Euro 2024 as he gave France a 1-0 second-half lead against Poland from the penalty spot.

    Mbappe sat out the 0-0 draw against the Netherlands after suffering a broken nose during Les Bleus’ 1-0 win over Austria and played this game against the already eliminated Poles in Dortmund wearing a protective mask.

    Results in Group B on Monday meant France were already through to the knockout rounds but Didier Deschamps elected to pick the new Real Madrid signing as his side chased the win they needed for top spot.

    Mbappe had missed two glorious chances before finally converting from the penalty spot.

    Poland veteran Wojciech Szczesny who is retiring from international football at the end of the tournament.

    Skorupski was one of five changes made by Poland boss Michal Probierz, including a first start of the campaign for Robert Lewandowski. The Barcelona striker saw a first-half header bounce agonisingly wide before France began to turn the screw during the closing minutes of the opening period.

    Poland held out but France were ahead in the 56th minute after Jakub Kiwior crudely brought down Ousmane Dembele. Mbappe sent Skorupski the wrong way and whipped off his mask to celebrate the 48th international goal of his career.

    Polish Striker, Robert Lewandowski has issued out strong warnings to Kylian Mbappe on the dangers of wearing a mask.

    Lewandowski sent strong warnings ahead France’s final group game today In Dortmund.

    France has already qualified for the round of 16 of the tournament, having collected four points from two group fixtures.

    He could return to the XI, but with a face mask to protect his broken nose.

    And Lewandowski, who had once played with a mask on towards the end of the 2014-15 season with Bayern Munich, said it is not an easy thing to do.

    As quoted by GOAL, Lewandowski said, “When I had to wear a mask myself, it wasn’t nice. It’s quite annoying, especially in the penalty area, I had problems, I didn’t react, I couldn’t see, my field of vision was hampered… It’s a few milliseconds but it can slow down a player.

    “It’s a challenge, it’s not pleasant, but of course a player’s health is more important. For a competition, emotions are very high and everyone wants to play at all costs. I understand the difficulties he faces.”

    Newly signed Real Madrid player, Kylian Mbappe has asked Paris Saint-Germain to pay him €100m ahead of his move to the Galaticos.

    L’Equipe reports that the amount is the wages PSG have not paid Mbappe for April, May and do not intend to pay for June either.

    The 25-year-old’s current contract with the Ligue 1 side will expire on the 30th of June and the issue must be resolved before then.

    The relationship between Mbappe and PSG has been rocky ever since he refused to sign a new deal.

    The French forward was frozen out of the first team before returning later on down the line.

    Mbappe will now leave on a free transfer to join Real Madrid.

    The player is currently in the French squad to the ongoing Euro 2024 in Germany.

    The head coach of France national team, Didier Deschamps has hinted that Kylian Mbappe could play in their second Euro 2024 fixture against the Netherlands.

    Mbappe cropped a nose injury in their slim win over Austria few days ago and that put question mark on his availability for France in subsequent game for the Les Blues at the Euro 2024.

    .However, the Real Madrid-bound striker returned to training on Tuesday and could now be involved on Friday.

    “I can confirm that Kylian Mbappe is feeling better and all is evolving well to see him available for tomorrow,” Deschamps said.

    “It’s moving in the right direction.”

    Mbappe is expected to have a custom mask made for him ahead of the match.

    France will slug it out with Neherlands on Tuesday as both teams seek qualification for the knock out phase of the competition.

    Former Manchester United and Wales captain,  Roy Keane, has hit out at French forward, Kylian Mbappe  for returning  to the field of play without the referee’s permission after he went out injured.

    Mbappe picked up a suspected broken nose late on in their 1-0 win over Austria on Monday.

    The France captain suffered the injury after jumping into Austrian defender, Kevin Danso.

    Mbappe then  went off to be attended to by medics, but then returned to the field without the referee’s permission, before sitting on the pitch and receiving a yellow card from the match official.

    After the match, Keane slammed Mbappe’s apparent deliberate act of time wasting.

    He told ITV Sport: “He gets an injury, trying to stop the play, he’s gone on to sit on the pitch, I don’t like to see this. This is out of order.

    “Listen whether he’s been instructed to go back on by the manager, he’s obviously had treatment he’s come off.

    “I know players can make mistakes, but to go back on and sit on the pitch, he deserved that yellow card. I don’t like to see it.”

    Harry Redknapp the former Tottenham Hotspur manager believes Kyllian Mbappe doesn’t have what it takes to win the EURO 2024 player of the tournament.

    According to Redknapp, Mbappe blows hot and cold adding that the France captain is still not ‘in the same bracket’ as Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi.

    “Kylian Mbappe is a real talent but when it comes to the Player of the Tournament, I’d rather side with one of the England players [Kane, Bellingham or Foden],” Redknapp told BetVictor.

    “Mbappe is hot and cold. He can be the best player on the pitch in one game then you might not see anything of him in the next.”

    The Euro 2024 will commence on June 14 with Germany hosting Scotland.
